I have just discovered that I have signed up for another year when my intention was not to and I was expecting to be advised my subs were coming up for renewal. Instead it happened automatically and I didn't even receive a receipt as notice this has occurred.

@SimonL, did this get resolved for you? What was CS’ reasoning for this occurring? Was considering purchasing premium subscription for my son. This auto-renewal issue makes me less inclined to do so.
+3There doesn't seem to be a mechanism to stop auto renewal. You have to cancel the subscription after you've made it. It then runs for the year.
+8Dutch consumer protection law: when a yearly subscription expires, it may only be auto-renewed per month and can be cancelled by the consumer on a month's notice.
So if it auto-renews for a full year you have to make an exception for your dutch subscribers, and for anyone else from countries with similar laws.
+26The monthly subscription fee is higher than the yearly fee dividided by 12 months. Do you really think all dutch customers want to pay that?
