How do I turn Athlete Intelligence back on?

I'm trying to figure out where the surface type data comes from for Strava. I know some of it comes from OSM(OpenStreetMaps) and that's referenced here - https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/8471952550669-Route-Terrain, but there seems to be other data being sourced as well.  Old Ferry Rd and Groveland St both show as being paved roads, which is accurate.  When I go to look at Groveland St in OSM there is a surface tag saying that it's asphalt, so that makes sense.But... When I look at Old Ferry Rd, there is no surface tag present.. So how does Strava know that this road is paved???

For the last couple of weeks, while on a ride, upon finishing a segment the results of that segment will remain on screen long after the segment ends. They remain even if additional segments are attempted.i will take a picture next time this happens but its annoying.

Yesterday I went for a run, 10k.Usually when a save the activity on my Garmin Forerunner 255 in less than a minute I’ll be able to see it on Strava.Yesterday the activity was normally visibile in Garmin Connect, but isn’t uploaded to Strava yet

Hello,A while ago my audio notifications stopped working and i don't know why. I've already tried to adjust the following settings:- apps authorization;- uninstalled the app and restarted the phone - reinstall the app- tried and connect with my headphones - adjusted the text to speech settings and the language I have a nothing 3a. I hope that there is a solution other than having to do a factory reset.

For almost 2 months I’ve not been able to create a route on any of my Windows 11 browsers. I deleted cookies, cleared caches and I even set up a new windows user account just for the purpose of using a new browser (with no extension) but all to no avail. Nothing happens anymore when I enter the ‘start’ and ‘end’ postcodes.I’m a paid subscriber but It’s as if Strava no longer recognizes me as a paid subscriber halfway through the subscription.Any advice please?

Recently, the Strava interface changed on the ride screen on my iPhone and now there is a giant “pause” button taking up a good amount of space at the bottom of my screen.  This is bad design. Not only is it taking up unnecessary screen space, the big button can be easily tapped by accident. My last two rides, I have had lots of miles not get properly recorded because I inadvertently had tapped the pause button without knowing it.   And of course, when you click resume and you’re in a different location, then you get those straight lines and not the GPS tracks.   This is just bad design.   Strava Team, if you are reading this, please do something to correct it.  Thank you.   

I am writing to request a refund for a recent charge on my account. I signed up for a free trial on July 10, 2025, but I did not intend to continue with a paid subscription.The recent charge of $52.35 was an automatic renewal that I was not aware of. While my account shows the transaction date as August 9, 2025, the money was actually deducted from my bank account on August 27, 2025.As I have not been using the paid features since the trial ended, I would like to request a full refund for this transaction.Thank you for your assistance.

I seem to be getting a lot of new followers lately who don’t have any followers and don’t seem to be active on Strava. What is this about and is there any way for Strava to catch and limit this? Thanks!

So i have an issue, i recently got a new app to track my strength training workouts. Before i just used strava to log a workout. And then noted the weight on a piece of paper.This new app automatically exports all of the data to apple health, and it works great. The problem i have now is that strava dosent let me import it.Strava works just fine to import something like a run from apple watch, but when importing the strength training from this app it dosent even show up in the list, of available imports in Strava.  Is there anyway to make this work, without going through a third party app like Rungap, which also sees the strength training exercise.

When looking at my profile and the “My Stats” section it is only showing I have done total of 45 runs 0miles and this year 15 runs 0 miles.This is completely incorrect I know I have done 353 runs, for 1,187.6 MilesHow is it that these stats are now showing as total Garbage. Anyone else notcied this. 

I’ve been noticing some inconsistencies with the transparent share feature on Strava, even when using GPS.I always record my runs using a Garmin watch, so all my activities have GPS data. But here’s what’s confusing:• Sometimes, the transparent share option shows my route with the shoe icon (looks really nice).• Other times, it only shows the route without the shoe icon, even though the run is recorded the same way.• All these activities have GPS data, and I don’t manually edit them. Why does this happen? Is it linked to the activity type, GPS details, or something else? How can I make sure the shoe icon option always appears when sharing transparently?

I’ve just noticed that if I cycle to work (and mark it as a commute as a result), I can no longer see how many calories I’ve burnt. Instead calories gets replaced with CO2 saved.I mean, that’s great, I don’t mind seeing that, but why hide my calories? That’s literally why I record my bike trips, so I can add the calories burnt to MyFitnessPal. You have the data, just show it! Sure, I know roughly how many kCal my usual route takes - but I don’t always go the same route!

I created https://www.strava.com/segments/39918812 from today’s run. Initially it was showing only me on that segment and it wasn’t populated with other people. After several hours I tried to edit the segment and saved it without making any changes. After that the segment leaderboard quickly populated with other people, however my original run activity from which I created that segment doesn’t match it even after I repeatedly try to refresh achievements. How is that possible?I should add that if I go to the list nearly matched segments on the web, which is the “Don't see the segment you're looking for?” link at the bottom, curiously, the new segment is listed there among other segments that were close but didn’t quite match, even though it shows that segment as a perfect match - obviously because that how I created that segment. I wonder why it can’t get matched

Hello, it's been almost a month and Strava support hasn't responded to my refund request. How long does this take to even get a simple reply from support? 

This is someone paying subscriber fees to advertise a hotel.  I can’t see this ending well for users if our streams become filled with Instagram-like influencers and “curated athletes” pushing product. Strava of course needs revenue streams, and I accept the sponsored challenges as that mechanism.  But this? Strava needs to come down hard on it. A subscriber who is a hotel 

As an avid runner and cyclist I love using Strava and it’s become one of my favorite forms of social media. However the video upload quality is shockingly bad, especially for a paid platform as popular as Strava in the year 2025. You can do better. Please include the ability to upload more high quality video clips along with the new updates that have been happening recently. Thanks!!

Under “Report Profile” there is no option to report an obvious bot account, so I just end up blocking them and not reporting them. I get 2 or 3 bots following me per day and I’m not even popular. I’m getting fed up and it seems like Strava doesn’t even want to take the most basic steps towards addressing the problem.

I went to record a run and Strava had logged me out and was making me fill in my name and birthday. When I had done that it gave me a new account. When I tried to log out and into my original account the email was now in use for the account I had just made without knowing. And I have no idea how to get it back. Please help

It’s good that Strava is now beginning to autoflag public “rides” that the AI thinks has either been done at least partially on an ebike or in a motor vehicle.But what about the mess of public “ebike” ride segments corrupted by illegal ebikes?As far as the law is concerned in the UK for road ebikes, if you’re getting motor assistance above 25kph (~15.5mph); the motor assistance is happenig without pedalling; or your ebike is providing more than a 250W average assistance over 30 minutes of riding, your ebike is considered to be an electric moped or electric motorbike.So Strava is allowing electric mopeds and electric motorbikes on UK ebike segment leaderboards, as well as on many countries in Europe and beyond.Electric mopeds and motorbikes have no place on UK public road ebike segment leaderboards.No “Johny Average” rider is riding a 4% hill for approx 4 minutes on a 15-30Kg UK road legal ebike at an average of anything near 20mph, up a slight drag

On my Garmin Connect calendar I have an activity created by Runna App with a name like "W6 Mon Tempo - Tempo 2ks (9km)". When I do the workout it became "City name - W6 Mon Tempo - Tempo 2ks (9km)".When I finish the workout it appears as "Afternoon Run" on Strava.If I open the fit file with https://www.fitfileviewer.com/ I can see it under "wkt name" (see attachment)Neither Strava nor www.activityfix.com are able to see it.Do you have any ideas?
