Wrong activity details synced between strava watch app and strava account

abhijitkw

Hello,

Recently I faced the below issue while recording my workout through strava.

I did a treadmill run of 10.23km in 79 mins from 08:30am to 09:40am. I recorded this activity as Indoor Run on my watch through Strava app for Galaxy Watch Active 2. The app recorded the duration correctly but showed the distance as 10.8km so I edited the distance to 10.23km before saving the activity on watch app.

Now when the activity was synced by watch strava app to strava account the duration was synced correctly but the distance is changed to 5.1km and start time shown is 02:45am. So my starva account shows wrong details but watch strava app is still showing correctly. Tried multiple resyncs but no use.

I have recorded activities multiple times before but there was no such issue ever. This is the first time such issue has occurred.

Please suggest a solution to this issue. Thanks.

Hello @abhijitkw
Thanks for your post. It sounds like your timezone may not be set correctly. We use your account's timezone to determine start time for activities that do not contain GPS information (indoor, workouts, swims, etc.). Please try the following:

  1. Access your account through the Strava Website
  2. Go to Profile > Settings
  3. Select your current location and type in Los Angeles & Save (this is to reset the time zone, we recognize this is not your accurate location. You will reset your location in step 5)

  4. Select Refresh PageScout_1-1721663667528.png
  5. Enter in your correct location & Save.
  6. Select Refresh Page (if the time zone still does not refresh to match your location please try step 3 again and then refresh the page followed to ensure the time zone and location match. Then enter your correct location again and refresh the time zone). Sometimes the timezone gets stuck and just needs to get adjusted back and forth to reset itself. Once it is set and is accurate it will not revert back.

This should resolve the time zone issue you are experiencing for all future activities. Unfortunately, the only way to fix the timestamps on your existing activities is to re-upload them. This will require that any existing versions of that activity get deleted so that the new version(s) can be uploaded. Keep in mind this will remove all kudos, comments, and photos associated with the original activity.

If your time zone continues to revert back please submit a support ticket and our team will investigate further.

Yeah... Resolved the timezone issue by correcting the location. Thanks.

The subsequent activities recorded through watch app have been, more or less, synced correctly with minor differences.

Glad to hear that worked; thanks for confirming!

If you find that there are any major differences in your activities that are synched over, please submit a support ticket and our team will investigate further.
