Hi,

I'm looking for a way to have these statistics included with my runs on strava.

I use strava to record my running and view statistics which is great.

First I started using the strava Apple Watch app but it didn't include these extra statistics. I know for example Garmin watches can sync these data to strava running activities, but don't want to buy a new watch and wondered if this is also possible with my Apple Watch. I found out that the workout app on iOS 16.1 and Apple Watch 9.1 includes this data, but not all data is synced to strava .

Is this already on the roadmap or hopefully a good idea to add :)?

Kind regards

Martijn

Any updates?? It's crazy that key metrics for running can't be imported to Strava ☹️

Dear Strava Team,

I am writing on behalf of a significant number of Strava users who have expressed their concerns and dissatisfaction on your community forum. The primary issue revolves around the integration of Strava with the Apple Watch, specifically for running sessions.

Many users, including myself, have been using the Strava Apple Watch app to record our running sessions and view statistics. However, we have noticed that the app does not include certain key statistics that are crucial for our training and performance analysis. These include power, cadence, vertical oscillation, ground contact, step length, and strokes.

We understand that these data points are available on other devices such as Garmin watches and can be synced to Strava running activities. However, many of us are Apple Watch users and do not wish to purchase a new watch just for this purpose. We have also found that the workout app on iOS 16.1 and Apple Watch 9.1 includes this data, but not all data is synced to Strava.

Frankly, it is quite scandalous that such a basic feature is not yet integrated into your platform. As a paying customer, I find this lack of functionality disappointing and it is making me seriously consider whether I should continue my subscription with Strava. I have noticed that the HealthFit application on the App Store offers a more comprehensive set of features, making it a more attractive option.

We believe that the inclusion of these statistics would greatly enhance the user experience and provide a more comprehensive overview of our running sessions. We hope that this is already on your roadmap or, if not, that it is a good idea to consider for future updates.

We appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to seeing improvements in the Strava Apple Watch app. If these concerns are not addressed, I fear you may lose a significant number of your user base.

Kind regards,

Thomas - France

particularly with more folks switching from garmin to apple watch with the ultra, it would make sense for strava to start making the experience at parity between the manufacturers. +1 to the many, many kudos and comments on fixing this

The newly released WatchOS 10 has support to connect Bluetooth sensors, such as speed, cadence, and power metrics. Will Strava import activities from Apple Workout with this data?

I am also disappointed that those metrics are available in Apple Workout and can be imported via a third party app as mentioned by some others. As a subscription user I would like to have this fixed as I don’t want to pay for another app to have simple features like this.

I am a new subscriber and just found out cadence could not be imported when using Apple Watch. Can Jane (the operator) respond to us? This issue has been there for years. Please communicate to development team that this is a customer demanded feature and deliver this ASAP. Come on please show us the purpose of this community board. We feel like talking to a wall at this point.

Super disappointed that the new metrics from Apple Watch are still not available in Strava, reading through the comment I’m also very curious to hear an explanation from the Strava team.

With the new release of Watch OS 10, Apple finally supports power meter and cadence sensors for cycling. However, when I record a ride this data is not transferred to Strava. When you I use a third party app such as WorkOutDoors on my Apple Watch, then my power meter data is transferred to Strava.

So here's my question, is Apple not making the power data available to Strava or is Strava choosing not to import the power data from Apple?

Is there a timeline for when this will be fixed?

Support for data from cadence sensor is being added to watchOS 10. I've been running the beta and it's a really nice feature, but this isn't imported into Strava and it would be really nice, if it did.

If it makes this feature easier to implement I’d like to request adding whatever stats possible.  If we can just get cadence or power to start it would be very helpful.

please prioritize whatever is easiest and add to it.

If strava want to support sports, and iOS/watchOS being one of the most popular devices. wouldn't strava want to be able to adopt this so strava platform looks useful? otherwise people will go elsewhere if the data isn't being imported. with the new power meter pairing in watchOS 10 this is only going to increase

the fact this is ongoing for over a year shows Strava couldn't care less about the customer experience here

Not being able to see my power data from my runs and now also not being imported from my cycling activities made me not resubscribe. I don't like the direction this platform is taking feature wise. I don't use Fatmaps or the stretching app or Zwift videos. Many of us here with a subscription are obsessed with training data. Strava needs to be the first platform to support data related features, not the last. Let me know once you get your priorities right and I might get a subscription again.

It's worrying that no one from Strava have bothered to even reply! I've been a paying subscriber for probably 7-8 years and I actually feel somewhat disrespected right now. We deserve some form of reply. At least tell us if this Is a technical issue, or something else?

Please can we get this integration working? Is it an Apple issue not exporting the new fields, or does Strava just need to be updated to take the fields when they’re populated?
