How do we get a new trail added to the maps?

Forum|alt.badge.img

Recently a new MUT opened and is quickly becoming popular with runners and cyclists.   As it was created where no path previously existed, the Strava maps don't show it and the only way to use it in route planning is via manual mode.

This isn't a big deal but it did get me wondering how I could go about providing necessary info to Strava to get it added.

Hello @KByfield

Thanks for posting about this.

The underlying map data for routes comes from our map provider, OpenStreetMap. If you notice any problems with the map used for routes, you can report those problems directly to OSM: https://www.openstreetmap.org/

As a follow up - our city recently extended the Mt Berry Trail which created a wonderful long loop. This new extension does appear in OpenStreetMap. It is not accessible in Strava for route planning unless manually added. How often does Strava update sync w/ OSM?
