Today the Strava Community Hub marks a big milestone as we turn 1! From all of us here at Strava, we want to give a huge thank you to each and every one of you, for being here and for your contributions. A Community without members is nothing, so today we’re celebrating you!
Like most new Communities, we started with only a handful of members and watched excitedly as more and more of you joined us.
One of the great things about Community is that it matches up people who need help, with people who can help. You did not disappoint. This past year we’ve seen so many instances of members helping members.
We can’t list them all but check out a couple below:
Thank you to all of you who have asked questions, answered questions, commented or engaged in any way. We see you and we appreciate you.
We found out pretty quickly that this Community has ideas - lots of them! Ideas on new Strava features, enhancements to existing features, new sport types, new language additions and more.
Our Ideas Board, where Community members can submit new ideas and vote/comment on existing ones, quickly became one of the most popular places in the Community.
In an ideal world, we would love to fulfill everyone’s wishes and implement all of them, but realistically, we can’t. The good news is that we have been able to implement some of your ideas, and there are more in the pipeline.
In the past year, we have marked 15 ideas as delivered, including these very popular requests::
- The Earthquake Relief Challenge, to support the people of Syria and Turkey
- Set Default Gear by Sport Type
- A list of Segments where you’re in the Top 10
- We also added 12 new Sport Types due to popular request - Pickleball, Football (soccer), Golf, Sailing, Skateboarding, HIIT, Pilates, Badminton, Tennis, Table Tennis, Squash, and Racquetball.

Strava is for everyone, so we are excited to see so many of you joining our Community from all over the world. To celebrate this achievement, we are giving you the chance to win some Strava swag!
