The additional activities that STRAVA has added has significantly outpaced the options for gear.  Regardless of activity type, the only gear types that can be added to your profile are shoes and bicycles; while shoes are likely being worn for something like skateboarding, or rowing, that's not the primary equipment for that sport.

Gear types I'd like to see (at a minimum):

- board (skate, snow, paddle, surf, kite)

- rower (indoor, canoe, kayak, crew)

- skate (roller, inline, ice)

- Other (elliptical, stair-stepper, skis)

- Additional Weight

There is the option to choose which shoe was used for a running or walking activity however it can't be done so for Golf.

Like running, golfers also use multiple shoes for their rounds of golf. Having this feature will allow me to track how many kms I've done for specifically golf instead of having to change the activity to "walk" or "run" so I can select the shoe I used for the round.

Thank you

One thing I love about Strava is how you can track statistics using different types of equipment/gear you own. For example your different kinds of bikes and how far you’ve ridden them. Or your your running shoes and how many kilometers you put on them before you wear them out! But what if we could track equipment over more sports/activities than just running and riding?

What about the different snowboards/skis you might use for a trip on the slopes? Or the different surfboards you might use over a summer? Maybe even the different types of racquets someone might use on different court surfaces?

With equipment already implemented into Strava, it would be a great idea to implement this unique feature across much more of the Strava platform as opposed to limiting it to just two different activity types!

I use Strava to keep track of mileage of shoes and bike equipments across the wide range of activities that I take part. It would be good if I can choose the shoes for racquet sports, even better if I can default specific shoes for these activities. I currently resolve to use "run" as a catch all for all racquet sports, this distorts the accuracy of the data and is cumbersome to have to change for each specific activity recorded on my Garmin watch. Thanks.

Many of us need information about gear usage in different disciplines. Mainly to be able to assess their usage percentage and life usage.
I don't understand why, if it is possible for cycling and running, and it is not possible to extend this functionality to other disciplines.

I will keep my fingers crossed that it will be possible as soon as possible, because it is obvious that many people here, simply need it.

Very much hoping for a gear addition that covers on-water sports. I use a variety of kayaks and surfskis and want to track their milage.
I think a category that fits most water vehicles would do the job, like boat, board or other. I do not care what it‘s called, just that it allows for tracking and can be selected in water-based categories.

What about no shoes? I walk my dog daily barefoot and would like to know how many km I do but I can track that only choosing it under a shoe

@Taz just add a pair of shoes for barefoot walking. There’s already a Brand named Barefoot (No Shoes) with an existing model none.
