Today the Strava Community Hub marks a big milestone as we turn 1! From all of us here at Strava, we want to give a huge thank you to each and every one of you, for being here and for your contributions. A Community without members is nothing, so today we’re celebrating you! Like most new Communities, we started  with only a handful of members and watched excitedly as more and more of you joined us.  One of the great things about Community is that it matches up people who need help, with people who can help.  You did not disappoint.  This past year we’ve seen so many instances of members helping members.

Hae im Ben an inline speed skater from Kenya, Kindly could you include inline skate as one of the major sport in strava like run and Bike?I noticed that  when you open strava on your Phone then tap on maps then routes there is no inline skate as one of the sports, this hinders you from exploring inline skating around new places.Kindly include inline skate as one of the major sports on strava.

Good morning,I am new to Strava (and to my neighborhood) and I am trying new itineraries. My issue is that I didn't find how to have "someone" dictate the itinerary (turn left, straight ahead...) while running, meaning that I have to constantly look at my phone which is not very practical! I'd prefer to launch the itinerary and have the instructions to follow in my headset 🙂Is it possible? With another app? Thanks for your help and support,Carole

Hello! Yesterday I did a bike ride that I also did mile-for-mile the same way 3 years ago.Here is activity 1 from 2020, and here is activity 2 from yesterday. Both were uploads from my Garmin Edge 530, if that is relevant.I have this segment associated with the 2020 activity, but not the 2023 activity. I can't tell whether or not this segment has been deleted, but I doubt it because here is someone else with a segment result from 7 days ago.Does anyone know why my second activity wouldn't trigger a result on that segment? Thanks.

I started riding bikes back in 2017, I'm autistic and find it to be very soothing, as a hobby. After my husband started riding, in turned into a bit of a competition,  not much between us, but it was fun. It was like I had my own personal trainer. Last year I really kicked it into gear after purchasing my 2019 trek domane sl6. I love it. This year started out great. Riding in May. I never paid much attention to any of the strata leaderboards, but the other day, I realized I was number 2 on a segment. Normally I dont pay attention because I ride for myself, but I decided the next day when I go out, I would concentrate on that section and give it my all. My husband was right in front of me. I could not believe it. When I finished my ride  and checked my results, I had beat the leader by 2 seconds and I was the new Queen of the Mountain. Wow. I couldn't believe it. All my hard work over the years paid off. Fast forward a day and I see my ride was flagged by someone. I don't u

Hi all, I joined Strava in the past year and enjoying it so far. It's great to see inline skating on the list, though the way it calculates calories burned seems a bit of a under estimate.  That aside. I've been trying to best my PR on a local climb and I noticed the top times seem to either be counted by those going down hill or if they're going up it certainly isn't without using a EV bike.  Is there a way to tag the direction of person and separate them into their own category if they're defending vs ascending.  Also allowing users to potentially flag if they suspect the leader on the board is using a EV bike? Excited to join the community -Andy

New to Strava - trying to figure it out. Central AZ high desert region, mountain biking using Samsung Galaxy watch 4

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, I find the Strava challenges as a good motivation to get out and about. I have noticed that I am seeing less challenges and only ones recommended for me. Is there anyway if accessing more random challenges like there used to be? It may be that I am not a premium account holder.Hopefully someone can advise.Thanks

Hi, I'm evaluating the purchase of an annual subscription, I'm Italian, but I'm looking to move to Germany next year... I know that in Germany the cost of subscription is higher, and I'd like to know if my annual subscription purchased in Italy will be usable when (and if, I'm not 100% sure at the moment) I move to Germany... I've searched info regarding this matter (other country also) but I haven't found anything...Thank You

I've been using Strava for some time, but this is my first post to the Campfire Chat. I usually use my Coros watch and upload after training, however, in the near future I hope to do a multi month hiking trip. Depending on battery life I'll likely stick with using Strava to measure my hikes via the app on my phone. If my phones battery starts to die I'll likely use my Coros watch. My issue is that I won't be able to access the internet for days at a time. So I wonder, can the Strava app keep track of my hikes and upload them when i have wifi. If so how many can the app store?I could foresee myself needing to store 7 days of hikes, potentially with each day comprising about 12 hours of hiking. Many thanks in advance. 

A new user has appeared in my area in the last few weeks.  They have recorded quite a few activities, mostly as Mountain Bike Rides, and almost all have been flagged due to infeasible high speeds.  The speeds have been high enough to be dangerous to other road users - such as 60 mph on a street with a limit of 30 mph and today it was over 100 mph (for about a mile on a flat road) where the speed limit is 70 mph.  I worry that Strava might be used by people boasting about the high speeds they can achieve with motor bikes or cars.  Simply flagging such activities doesn't seem to be enough - can Strava do something to stop this reckless and dangerous behaviour ? I think I saw somewhere that Strava would remove accounts showing inappropriate behaviour, but I don't know how this works in practice.

My name is Nick, a long time Strava-er here to finally say hello!I remember a time before Strava, and I remember the period of time when I resisted using Strava, preferring to stick to manually writing down my daily ride statistics in a notebook and manually (well, with my TI-89 calculator, at least) calculating monthly and annual totals at the end of each respective time period. I remember when I finally gave in and made an Instagram account because, at the time, posting a picture to Instagram while actually in the middle of an activity was the only way to get a picture posted to your activity on Strava. After all this time and all of the iterations of Strava, I can truly say that I enjoy it. It has definitely had some hiccups, and I have had to personally take some mental health breaks from it, but for the most part, I believe Strava to be a great tool.After all these years, I have decided to stop thinking of all of the ideas I have that could improve my experience o

Hello - I'm Melissa. I'm from Michigan and I generally ride bikes of all sorts. I recently started volunteering for a Michigan bike oriented group. Looking forward to reading posts on this forum.

In looking to see if Strava was worth it, I couldn't dind a clear list of free ca paid features, but found an article about privacy and that I have to opt out of everything. Every. single. option. to allow or deny a privacy permission defaulted to sharing data except the health data option. I'm giving Strava a try to possibly replace Google's Fitbit before they completely butcher it. This privacy thing is a huge turn off. Is it worth staying if I stay on the free license? I'm just interested in biking, and maybe discovering new routes locally.
