Currently an activity is shown as a uniform orange line on a map. I think it could be cool/useful to color this line on the map with a color that encodes the pace at which someone moved at each point of the activity. Eg blue = slower, orange = fasterthis would basically integrate the “pace analysis” of an activity into the map plot, and could also show some interesting correlations, like whether or not any faster/slower splits might be due to certain types of terrain.This idea could be extended into the global heat map, besides popularity it might be interesting to show relative pace differences of activities over all segments. This could be a good indicator of wether or not it’s a good place to run when building a route. If most people slows down over a certain stretch of road, odds are the terrain isn’t great there.

I think it would be really cool to see my map with a feature to "turn on all runs" and see just how much of my area I have covered. It would encourage me to try new roads and get my town to "100% completion". Strava could even have challenges of "color in this town" or "team red vs team blue" to see who can color more in a day or a week.

I achieved a gran fondo cycling on https://www.strava.com/activities/7628874558 but I do not appear to be recognised for it as completed this month with the GF badge..Is it because of privacy restrictions? Or? I can understand partner challenges not working for privacy restrictions, but for standard strava ones seems odd... 

I am glad the issue with 3D mapping was fixed rapidly, however, live tracking/mapping is still faulty: The 2D map has only one scale for tracking. If you pinch to zoom out the blue dot stops scrolling and the map has to be constantly repositioned. Pressing the crosshairs will centre and scroll, but immediately rescales to fully zoomed in, i.e. the map should scroll with the scale I've selected.

I would like to see the features of the heatmap get linked to activities so I can see when I rode specific roads (re: all the rides where I was on that particular road).  It would give me a different way to review the segments on particular roads.  In addition, just like you can see google street view images over time (you can select which date of a street view image you want to see), I would like to see Strava add a play button that would show you the growth of your heatmap over time.

I would be very nice to have the ability to let Strava make a route from A to B instead of a round up route with start and finish as the same point... Sometimes I want a route from where I am in the field or road to a specific place.

There is bike rider who posts on my segments as 75+ ages. In fact he is under 19 and might be under 16 years. I asked him to correct his age but he replied that it messes up his heart rate info. Can i have him flagged or somehow get him into the right age group and heart rate?

For a few months I was running a friendly cooperative group challenge with colleagues. I set up a club for my workplace and invited people that wanted to join. The group challenges were a great way to get people involved, people were keen to know just how far as a team we could go in any given month. It was a great motivator for people to be healthyUnfortunately, I had to stop a few months later, as non-premium members only get to join 3 group challenges, you have to be a premium member to join more. This is the most artificial barrier I have witness in freemium apps. Maybe I'm missing something but its not like cash prizes can be won in group challenges, its just a virtual leaderboard that can be aggregated in different ways. Its really disappointing, and I would like to see better support for creating Stava groups for workplaces. 

Unsure if this is available in WearOS 3 as I haven't received the update yet. But in the current version, it would be very handy to link the HR to an external monitor (chest straps/forearm straps) as getting HR reads from the watch (wrist) is inaccurate in many devices and the problem worsens as the intervals shorten  

Hello Team Strava, I am in Melbourne, Australia and have often thought we live in one of the best bike riding locations imaginable, especially for road bikes. Apart from our Beach Rd and the Yarra Boulevard which are favoured by road bikes, there are also about 2000km of dedicated bike paths, hills to climb at the edge of our city in the Dandenongs for both gravel and MTB and even single track around the Yarra River and other parks, and a dedicated MTB course at Lysterfield. I also rate Adelaide as a brilliant place to ride, especially with the Adelaide Hills only 15 or 20 minutes away from the CBD but I was wondering where else in the world people think are fabulous for riding? Where is the all 'round cycling capital of the world you think? 

I have completed quite a lot of bike Segments in my local area (over 5,000) and I'm quite familiar with the Segment leaderboards.  If I attempt a new Segment I often look at the leaderboard and see familiar names of keen local cyclists.  If I see a name I don't know or a big performance gap between the top 2 on the leaderboard I may look at the Activity of the KOM-holder in case of anomalies - if I see obvious use of a vehicle (such an Activity mostly at 10 mph followed by stationary for 5 mins followed by the last mile at 50 mph) then I may comment on the Activity to request the athlete trim their data.  If there's no response I may flag the Activity as "in a vehicle" in an effort to maintain integrity of the leaderboards.     Today I saw something strange - I tried a few new Segments and saw a new name who had the KOM for about 4 of them.  Their profile was "open" and I could see they had only done 2 Activities (on consecutive days in 2019).  F

There's a limit to the number of new segments I can create in any 24-hour period.  I know this because I like to create identical segments from routes when I'm out on my e-bike to compare how I did against my road bike over the same segment. If a route has a lot of segments I have to create the new e-bike ones over several days (which is fine). I usually get a message that says something like "You've created too many segments. Try again in xx hours".  The time varies. Sometimes it less than 24 hours. Sometimes it's more. I've never figured out why.However, today when I went to create some segments the message I got was "You have created too many segments - try again later".I haven't created any in a good few weeks.  I've tried several times through today and I get the same message. Why am I getting this message now and what's behind this restriction anyway?Malcolm

I am under impression that upon upload from external devices Strava discards any speed data and then rebuilds from distance distance changes over time. As a result the running pace graph looks much more noisy and spiky than pace graph for the same activity in e.g. Garmin Connect. I'd say that in general it is very hard to use Strava pace graph for any kind of analysis - it is just too noisy to see any trends. Perhaps Strava should either be applying some smoothing or, when available, just use the original speed/pace data from the device. Many modern devices fuse the running pace data from both GPS and accelerometer which makes it way more stable than GPS based pace alone, and Strava should try to preserve that.  

I hiked around a lake, and had a swim in the middle. I recorded it as one activity. Once uploaded, I wanted to edit it to save as two activities - one complete Hike, and one Swim. In order to do this Iused the activity split tool (into 3)download GPX for activities 1 & 3did some GPX file manipulation to get a combined Hike GPX file (using original activities 1 & 3)deleted the 2 original Hike pieces (i.e. original activities 1 & 3)cropped the original Swim piece (i.e. original activity 2)attempted to upload the new Hike (i.e. merged original activities 1 & 3)However, it wasn't allowed. Your checking of the GPX file I was uploading said it was identical to the original Swim activity that had been uploaded. This is despite the fact that due to cropping, there was no overlap between the 2 files. This suggests that despite the splitting and the cropping, the "identical check" uses pre-split and/or pre-crop information. Which is obviously a bug (that presumably has a simple f

I did the Haleakala climb back in April. After reaching the summit and returning to the visitor center parking lot I realized a few things fell out of my jersey. I hopped in the SAG car my girlfriend was driving to go back up (twice) and forgot to stop my Garmin. Those 2 trips have segments showing up on the leaderbord that i've been trying to remove with zero luck. Someone flagged the entire activity instead of just those segments, Ive now been able to unflag the activity but not the segments......please help

Hello. I can upload photo and vidéo to my activities using wifi. But when I am using 4g mobile data, it is not working. It keep turning without uploading or progressing. Once I turn on wifi it works fine.Has anyone the same issue?

Strava maps and routes are great and help we in planning my rides, runs and hikes.Great also that there are now more categories (i.e. Ride, Run, Walk, Trail Run, Gravel Ride, Mountain Bike)2 features are missing for me to manage My Routes:1. A capability to change the category from one to another - Sometimes one recorded the route under the wrong category. Now with the new categories, I would like to recategorize My Routes accordingly.2. Please allow sorting and searching within My Routes, so that it becomes easier to find the required route among the many others.If there are any workarounds at the moment, would appreciate guidance. Otherwise, hope above could be added to the already great functionality of Strava   

This feature was working fine for years, but after I retired a few shoes and now have only a single default pair my mileage isn't getting added to them. I've tried resetting stats but it doesn't work. Is there anything else I can try?

How would one go about changing the club leaderboard stats view. By default, in the app, it shows all athletes and time.I would like for it to show distance on the leaderboard, and "total club distance" on the main club page instead.

India has new regulations towards credit card information storage and processing. Strava payments are not compatible with those regulations and my renewals are being declined. Is there an update to the payments feature that is going to fix this?

Hi Guys, have just found and joined the Climbfinder website, which is well worth using and exploring, I was very sorry to see however that Strava currently does not sync with Climbfinder. The team at Climbfinder tell me this is because Strava are currently developing their own feature or version of this, does anyone know anything?
