This would seem like a good idea for football (or soccer as it is called in some countries). The same would also apply to other similar sports, such as rugby, hockey or basketball. In many pro sports the players wear GPS trackers so the coaches can give feedback after a game. This data is also shared to TV companies who show "heatmaps" of some of the players as part of their analysis of the game. All interesting information for many sports fans.
My first thought when I see this topic is that when I was playing soccer, we were never allowed to wear a watch or other device due to safety concerns (didn't want to accidentally catch someones finger under your wristband or anything like that). Now there are so many other ways to wear things like that which would make it possible to track. I feel old... 😉
GPS tracking for Soccer I do not understand why it is not available. Duribg soccer training I wear my Apple Watch. After training I am unable to analyse my performance through Strava… it is a pittty.
Hello. We wanted to let you know that your idea submission from December of 2022 will be archived. While this idea is interesting, we don’t have any immediate plans to implement this and currently aren’t able to prioritize this idea.
Please note that your feedback is valuable to Strava. As stated in our Community Idea Guidelines, we receive many idea submissions each week, and realistically, there may be various reasons that prevent us from including an idea on our Product Roadmap.
We want to thank you for taking the time to submit your idea and we look forward to your continued contributions to the Strava Community.
