There is already a process in place to flag new activities that are posted at an impossible speed, and to keep them from appearing on leaderboard and segment records. The problem is, this has not been applied retroactively. So there are thousands of older records where someone has, accidentally or on purpose, posted an activity with an impossible speed. For example, when I see a running activity with a segment that's over 1 mile long, and the speed is faster than a 3 minute mile. This is either a person who rode their bicycle, forgot and left their activity on while driving their car, or is intentionally using something else such as an e-bike to "game the system." For those of us who work hard to gain a little bit more speed while running or biking, it can discouraging to see a bunch of older records with obviously incorrect and impossible speeds. I think it will be great for Strava to add Heart of a Champion award for relative effort on segments.  Current Functionality:  Strava currently awards the fastest times and the number of efforts on segments. There are no awards for highest relative effort on segments.  Proposed Functionality:  The person who works the hardest based on relative effort wins the Heart of a Champion award on a leveled playing field. Reset the award every year on a rolling basis from when the highest relative effort is set. This will be great for all types of competitions - 100, 200, 400, 800, 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons, marathons, ultras, and centuries. Who pushed themselves the hardest? Why is this important:  The award for the highest relative effort for the segment equalizes competition based on the maximum heart rate of each individual. Athletes should know that they can win a segment on effort and not only on fast times.  Potential Issues:  We would be pushing people to hit close to their max. Need to think about how to balance a new challenge with the safety of the athlete. Athletes shouldn't do max efforts all the time.    ... Hi Strava Team, I think Strava Star Rewards will be a great addition to Strava. This is important because: Strava Star Rewards are basically star points for completing challenges Initially, the points can be used to redeem a free subscription for 3 months, 6 months or 1 year (similar to NYRR challenges) In the future, the points can be used to buy Strava swag, discounts for gear, fuel, and shoes from different brands, or subscriptions to other fitness services Brands benefit and users benefit. Instead of only having free subscriptions available through NYRR challenges, expand it to other challenges, so users are motivated to complete more brand challenges and gain stars.  An example of when I would want this feature is every time I complete a challenge, I collect 1 star. 100 stars in one year = 3 months. 200 stars in one year = 6 months.  300 stars in one year (if possible) = 12 months. I came from endomondo and I thought there statistics page was way better. They had pie graphs and line graphs. Stats like (for the year) total distance, climbing, desending, total time, average speed, max speed ex for each individual sport and you can see them per week, per month and per year. You could compare where you are this year to years past. I thought that was and excellent way to challenge your self. It's too bad I couldn't transfer my endomondo stats here also. ... View more

Similar to showing statistics by gear, I’d like to see performance compared by gear, with achievements for each gear, bikes mainly. Climbing on a big bike is slower than on a light bike, and combining stats across gear makes it difficult to gauge gains. Similarly for downhill segments. I could be faster down on a big bike, but what are the gains vs a short travel or different bike? If we could compare between and keep achievements within gear, it could help give insights on training.    ... View more

Implement the ability for an athlete to see their personal records for each individual bike in their profile. I have a lightweight road bike and a heavier gravel bike. I am never going to be able to beat a PR up a steep climb that I have set on my road bike when riding on my heavier gravel bike but that doesn't mean a particular effort on my gravel bike is less of an achievement than on my road bike. Unfortunately my results are no longer improving, rather the opposite. Instead of constantly being reminded of my personal best years ago, it would be more motivated of being told on the analysis page that this was my fastest 5K logged this quarter etc...  ... View more

I like achievements concept at Strava. One thing is how you have improved a performance. But something the biggest achievement is actually that I managed to do the training - simply because the motivation is low. So my idea is to have make "achievement" called "You did it" (naming is open for better suggestions) where you can identify a session as a session were you did "beat" the motivation and can celebrate that you did the effort - even though you were not motivated. ... I really like the idea of not only having badges or recognition for riding performance but also for the locations a rider has completed a ride in.   Perhaps broken down into: 1) Number of cities ridden in 2) Number of countries, states, provinces, territories, and continents ridden in 3) Riding through areas of interest (mountain ranges, deserts, famous climbs, famous highways, etc...) Imagine you can use the replay route feature in 3D mode similar to google/apple maps, and see your little 3D avatar running at your pace! Needs to be a way to correct the distance on best efforts.  For example, I just ran a mile on the track (a true 1609m) but it won't show up in my best efforts because my GPS recorded the distance as 1602m.  Yes, I could keep running to make sure it records the time as a mile, but that's generally not how a race works and also when I know I ran exactly 1609m I want my best effort to reflect the accurate time not an extra 7m of running time.  It's crazy I can't edit it to say distance was actually 1609m not 1602m.   ... I find that there are people that seem to be able to run about twice as fast (or faster) as Olympic athletes on routes. Then it turns out that all their other activities are for cycling but they have tracked as a run. This means that impossible records are set and cannot be beaten. Any chance Strava could review records for running (and other activities) to see the which are faster than world class and review if they should be records. Just like with Zwift, it would be nice to have 90 PRs and placements as well as the normal overall PRs. This could be just on a user or on a user and the segments as a whole.  As you get older or things happen, sometimes those older PRs are just not achievable or in reach any longer. ... View more

Hello Strava. I love tracking running on the app and have used it for that tor a while. I also love skateboarding and noticed that was an activity listed on there. I have an idea of adding a menu at activity completion menu where you can select the tricks you successfully landed during a session.  That would be very useful for tracking progress in skateboarding. Sport is healthy. Donating blood to the Red Cross is caring about others. During my last donation the nurse said I had a nice time: 8 minutes 17 seconds for 470ml. I was triggered to add this to my Strava activities but could not find a matching activity. So a new type and icon would be great! It would be nice to work out something with the Red Cross organisation (maybe partnership) and find out how many sporters are involved. ... View more

I'd like see how my ride today compares to all my previous rides on same segment as a percentage. Percentages are given for segments against others, I want to see how today's ride compares to the 50 times I've done it. Like a PR, silver or bronze but for every ride. E-bike stats don’t count towards Cycling Annual Stats. Could you modify your software so that all e-bike users can have Cycling Annual E-bike stats? I am disappointed that I can no longer view my longest ride & highest elevation gain etc. I’m paying the same subscription price as other users but not getting these very useful and encouraging features. ... As segment leaderboards get ultra-competitive with Pros, KOM-hunting, and general Strava popularity, the public leaderboards begin to lack significance for friendly competition amongst friends & club members. The thrill of earning that KOM or LL status (and the motivation to improve when you get that dreaded email saying the segment has been nabbed) feels almost more relevant to compete against the groups of people you know. Adding the crown or wreath  icons to the Following or Club subscriber that holds the title and either a notification or email would be a huge user experience boost for those that rarely (or likely never) see a segment achievement in their activities. ...
