The current graphs that are shown in the front page of each activity do not show a real scale.If you make a ride at 10 km/h, the line shown in the graph will appear in the top of the graph regardless its a low speed; the idea is that if you ride slow, the line should always appear in the lower part of the graph, close to the bottom. The same for HR, Power and Candence readouts. If you make this change, when a rider goes all the way fast, the graph will appear close to the top and viceversa. Here's an idea that might lead people to share their recent rides; thus, leading to more people joining Strava. The idea: a side-view profile of the route you road. This would look like the hill profiles used in the TV coverage on professional bike races, which shows the major climbs on the route, which has a rating at the top of each hill (HC, 1, 2, 3, etc). On Garmin connect when I ride my e-bike I can see how much power it have drawn from the battery, and I also have power meters on all my bikes. would it be possible to create a metric for e-bike users to show how much power they put in vs how much power is used from the battery? also could ebike users on strava be categorised by their bike, for example I have a Mahle EX35 hub drive road bike that is quite light and not very powerful in comparison, I can't go up hills as fast as a chinese Bafang 500W mid drive with almost 3 times the torque output. on the ebike leaderboard segments it would make a lot more sense if it showed which bike each rider was using   ... As winter biking is starting to become far more common than it used to be they need their separate category from normal biking. Problem with segments is that some fairly rough segments become as smooth as asfalt in the winter time. So any such segment just becomes a winter segment as you can't match speeds in the dry season. One idea is to use weather service data to determine when there was a snow cover of certain depth and thus marks for a snow/winter biking ride. For example first time depth hits 20cm snow cover you have snow biking for the rest of the winter. The snow cover compresses after that so depths below 20cm late winter will still cover any small to medium terrain shapes. 20cm is roughly what you need to start covering the features of a trail. ... With Parkrun and their recent decision not to have results anyone can look at, I propose a user allocated time specifically for the Parkrun event. It would give Parkrunners a way onto Strava, especially if promoted at the event, like an opt in of the data Parkrun decided to remove. It would be active only for Saturday Mornings and only allow a running distance of up to 6km's to be recorded for the hour of the event. As a Premium user of Strava it could also make the segment data more complete and be motivational to since people arguing themselves go up the leaderboard. If Parkrun was open to the idea of Strava offering this for Parkrunners with the idea of opt-in comparative performance data, as a type of non monetary supporter of the event I can only see it as a win-win for the current Parkrun situation! 😁 ... Can we just get a feature added to Strava that inserts that photo or logo (or photos when it’s multiple challenges or an achievements) of the challenge that completes an activity into the media for that activity? Let us choose in settings if we want that image as default or the map? ... View more

There could be a mode that users opt into where any time you pass someone you're not doing an activity with, you are awarded a Greyhound badge. The person that gets passed would receive a Rabbit demerit. If the Rabbit doesn't achieve a new PR on a segment in the next few days, the demerit stays on the account.  This could be a fun way to encourage a friendly rivalry with strangers. It could be a fun motivator to see if you can catch up to the next person you see, or encourage you to keep up the pace if someone is coming up behind you. You never know who else might be on Strava. Even if you do get passed, the motivation is there to do your best on your next activity.  If user names are shared when someone passes you, or you pass someone else, it could be an introduction to people you share routes with. ... What if Strava subscribers could give and even receive sponsorship? I could imagine myself paying for a more expensive subscription tier that allowed me to allocate a portion of that subscription cost to other athletes in the community. How much more expensive? I don't know... But here are some reasons why I could imagine myself and maybe others might consider paying in to this tier: I want to support a friend of family member who's starting their fitness journey I want to support the local legends in my community (which would hopefully inspire competition among other community members to make their accounts public, pay into the sponsor-level subscription tier, and compete for that status) I'm a local business owner or enterprise leader and want to sponsor a specific athlete or private group in my community I'm a local business owner or enterprise leader and want to sponsor a badge where participants in the subscription tier can win the proceeds. I want to tap in to my competitive side and see if I can break even on my subscription cost by accruing sponsorship $ through the means suggested above. I'm a content creator in the fitness space and this is an additional source of income with a hight cost:benefit ratio. The same mechanism could be used for athletes to allocate their sponsorship to  charitable causes. Probably more reasons I haven't thought of... I suppose this idea could also be reworked so that participants earn points rather than $. Strava would have to establish relationships with retailers for participants to redeem their points. This idea certainly isn't reinventing the wheel as subscriptions with profit sharing already exist. But I think an online fitness community like Strava has a higher percentage of users who want to see the people they follow succeed compared to other platforms (this is obviously completely anecdotal). And I think allowing for the sponsorship to potentially come back to the individual sponsors in a variety of ways encourages the type of competition that benefits the participants at least in terms of their fitness but also potentially their wallets. Anyways, there's probably a massive issue with this idea that's in my blindspot or someone has thought of this already and it wouldn't work. Ideally in running I’d like to be looking at getting faster. Not just covering a total distance or total time.  There’s currently no way to see if I’m getting closer to an average pace target (which is a great indicator of my speed). Currently I only know if I set a new section personal best achievement or beat one of my friends on a section time AFTER the ride is over.  I would suggest adding a third screen that you can toggle to for competitive.  This screen would show you the current section you are in and how you are tracking towards beating the current best time, and if you have a route selected then tracking that separate to the section for your overall time.  Making this available on the map would be fantastic, with the option to overlay a ghost version of yourself on your previous best run for the segment, or even allowing you to view a ghost version of your friends so you can see what sections they are getting more speed on.  I believe you already have all of the data to do most of this, if not all of it with some minimal development cost. ... Just like the option "Commute", there will be another category "HomeOffice". With this, the statistics for the annual kilometers can be expanded and there is new data that can be integrated, for example, in the route planning function. In the Strava app I can see what my best running times are for different distances. It just doesn't help me at all because I only cycle and don't run at all. That's why I don't need to know what my fastest running times are of x kilometers/mile or a half marathon. I am curious about my best cycling results. Other athletes will also want to know what their milestones are in the sport they practice. What are his swimming milestones or her rowing milestones? Changing the milestone sport or adding a sport or multiple sports would therefore be very nice. Possibly an option that you could also add a (maximum) number of distances yourself. Certain distances that you ride very often, such as the length of your standard training lap. I think it would be great to get 'achievement' medals for goals other than pace when doing an activity in Strava. I have recently been training differently and rather than trying to outpace myself on every run I have been trying to lower my heart rate or hit a particular (lower) pace each mile/ km. But I LOVE getting achievements after having done an activity and so when I don't it feels demotivating. Achievements = dopamine. It would be nice to display total number of 10k’s, 30k’s, HM’s and FM’s runs that have been recorded in strava by an individual runner,  in “All-Time” under “My Stats”. Similarly we can have total number of 20k, 50k and 100k rides for cyclists.  ... View more

With the mobile app, is it possible to have my phone play a short celebration tune when I've just ridden a segment and got the KOM? It might be a catchy way for Strava to have more presence from a marketing perspective as these tunes will become synonymous with success in time.
