Hi Strava, you have just introduced a partnership with Fi collar to record dog activities, but why not review the idea of introducing CaniSports activities which we have been asking for. We the CaniSports community have been asking for you to add a dog assisted category, so that our growing community can compare our efforts with other like minded dog enthusiasts.  please consider adding CaniCross, CaniBike and CaniScoot to the activities. Let users define a cycling round course for a group or club activity that can be joined by others along the way (forming temporary ride partnerships/ road trains). Cyclist will start go around the course at a defined time and pick up others along the way. The pass-by-time or pick-up time can be calculated for the starting position of each user. They will join in when the road train passes by and drop off when they have done the course.  Examples: 1.) When going with a club not everyone will be able to make it to the start / gathering point some people have already gone "a long way" before they come to the gathering point. It will be much easier to join a "bike train" when it passes close to your house. 2.) You are on holiday at an unknown location and want to join a temporary cycling activity. Lots of runners have multiple shoes that they have for running on the same terrain and same for cyclists. I think there should be an easy way to select which gear to upload you activity to. This could be done once an activity has been uploaded, you could go onto that activity and select which shoe (or if it's a ride, which bike) to say you have used, making it easier to track what you have done with your gear. I'd like to see a "Zone 0" added to the heart rate zones, defined as "movement that doesn't count as aerobic training."  Often, in an activity, my goal is to stay below Zone 1. Perhaps it's a recovery day. Perhaps I'm a little sick but I still need to take the kid to preschool on the e-bike so I try to stay below 45 W. Currently, this kind of movement gets lumped together with Zone 1 training. This feels wrong and makes heart rate zone analysis less useful. ... View more

Where i ride and run, mostly in the forested and hilly areas of Sarawak, Malaysia, I rely on the mapping function Strava offers.  It's such a useful tool where normal maps aren't available at all.  However, often when i arrive at an area the route is overgrown and unusable as forest/vegetation can grow back super-fast here on the equator.  I suggest Strava place a date filter on this mapping function so that we can see whether a trail/route has been used recently as well as how frequently (the already existing 'thicker' lines). ... As winter biking is starting to become far more common than it used to be they need their separate category from normal biking. Problem with segments is that some fairly rough segments become as smooth as asfalt in the winter time. So any such segment just becomes a winter segment as you can't match speeds in the dry season. One idea is to use weather service data to determine when there was a snow cover of certain depth and thus marks for a snow/winter biking ride. For example first time depth hits 20cm snow cover you have snow biking for the rest of the winter. The snow cover compresses after that so depths below 20cm late winter will still cover any small to medium terrain shapes. 20cm is roughly what you need to start covering the features of a trail. ... One of the main features strava is missing is the start date of every user.  Which date did the athlete start their journey on strava ? How many years in total are they training for? How do we know and how do we compare the period athletes built up those hours and kilometers show in the all time statistics section This Feature could go in the ALL TIME statistics section. it would fit there perfectly.  ... With Parkrun and their recent decision not to have results anyone can look at, I propose a user allocated time specifically for the Parkrun event. It would give Parkrunners a way onto Strava, especially if promoted at the event, like an opt in of the data Parkrun decided to remove. It would be active only for Saturday Mornings and only allow a running distance of up to 6km's to be recorded for the hour of the event. As a Premium user of Strava it could also make the segment data more complete and be motivational to since people arguing themselves go up the leaderboard. If Parkrun was open to the idea of Strava offering this for Parkrunners with the idea of opt-in comparative performance data, as a type of non monetary supporter of the event I can only see it as a win-win for the current Parkrun situation! 😁 ... I wanted to suggest that since AI is so fashionable and achieves incredible things, wouldn't it be possible for it to calculate when you stop at a traffic light and not lose the average speed you were traveling before stopping? That is, if you were traveling at 40 km/h and when you leave the traffic light you return to approximately that speed, ignore that speed section and apply the 40 km/h, that way it would really offer you your performance in terms of average speed . As a frequent and happy user of the Strava app, there is one request that has been on my mind… I am quite a fanatic speedskater in wintertime and this doesn’t seem to be a sport that is on Strava’s radar screen (maybe the recent success series of the USA speed skater Jordan Stolz will change this….). The only icon that Strava has available for skating during wintertime at this moment is actually “figure skating” which is very, very different from speedskating on a 400m ice-ring (like the one in Salt Lake City in the USA). Can you consider adding Speedskating icon to your selected Strava sports list with a corresponding icon? This would make my speed skating training efforts more real and accurate. ... View more
