Hey guys , any idea when Strava will stop ruining mountaineering stats? A week ago I was hiking Kilimanjaro and I was surprised how badly Strava is working while hiking or walking slowly at high altitude. My Garmin data show the elevation gain of 1200 meters and 9 hours of hiking during the summit attack but then after the synch with Strava, my stats showing just 500 meters of the elevation gain and 2 hours of moving time in the app.

I'm originally from Memphis, Tennessee but coming up on my fourth year living in California. I'm approaching my 2 Year Anniversary working for Strava. My favorite sport is Basketball but I use Running on Strava to track my conditioning and stay in shape. My goal for this month is to run a total of 60 miles. At 2 miles per day, I believe this is very possible and would be a huge accomplishment! It would be great to get to know you! Do you prefer exercising in the heat or cold? I'd pick the heat any day. I'm simply not a fan of freezing my fingers, toes, nose and eyeballs off. How about you? Comment below if you prefer being 🌞 = hot or ❄️ = cold.      

I am reporting a bug. It's cosmetic but annoying. If there is a better place to report this let me know. "Hey Google. Start run. Sorry, that shortcut will only work on an Android phone with that app installed" This Google Assistant command works fine without warning until you add in "Pixel Buds Pro". So, my wife and I like to get out and run, but with the summer sun and humidity, it can be hard to get outside and not just feel like we are melting.  We try to run first thing in the am (before it gets too hot), but that is when the humidity here is the highest... later in the day, we have lower humidity, but a scorching hot sun.What do you do to 'beat the heat'?  Has anybody tried those "Arctic Cool" shirts?  Run at night?  Run indoors on a treadmill? (I don't like to do this, since we spend so much time indoors in the winter).  Cycling isn't as bad, since you at least generate more wind with the movement - any other activities you migrate to when it is hot outside?Who actually likes running in the heat (and why)?  We see a lot of people out in the peak heat of day - wondering how??

Could weather data be enlisted to create a new grouping of segment achievements (similar to the age / gender / weight groupings) based on wind direction? Wind assisted PR’s and KOM’s can be impossible to compete with. 

With the addition of so many new activities, I now have trouble scrolling through them all on my watch to find the one I want to use and sometimes choose the wrong one. It would be nice if you can choose favorite activities to make them either show at the top of the activities list or hide all activities besides your favorites. Separate note, with all of the recently added activities, how has unicycling not been added yet? I have friends who do this with no way to really record their rides other than using the generic cycling activities and they have no chance of ever hitting leader boards. They need their own.

Does Strava have any sort of location based challenge? Example: a local hiking area has 30 "peaks" and we have a Facebook group tracking a group of people as they hit them. But it would be great if Strava had a feature where we could track them. It would make a lot more sense when tracking things like summiting mountains in hiking ranges, etc.So does anything like this exist?

I was wondering if Strava could add a dislike button to comments, kinda like the Like button

Thanks for visiting the Strava Community Hub.  I'm Jane and here's a few things about me: I'm originally from Canada (Alberta) but I've been a  U.S. resident for a while and have lived in California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York. I've worked for Strava for nine years. My favorite activities tend to change throughout the seasons; right now I'm enjoying walking and strength training the most. I'm not currently training for any races or events, but I am looking forward to cheering on the runners in the NYC Marathon in November. A friend of mine received a ticket from the town for riding a small section of trail that is apparently off limits to bikes. He rode very early in the morning and encountered no one. When he called the town to ask why he was ticketed they told him that they found his ride on social media. He does not use any social media and does not post his rides anywhere except Strava.  Has anyone else experienced this?  How does one easily even find segment activity of other riders without actually riding the segment? 

Hello,I am a cyclist and use Strava Wear OS. My only issue is that auto pause is not working. I seen it works great in running mode. Moreover, I don't jog, I just rode in jogging mode to try it while cycling. Unfortunately it is not possible in cycling mode. I've witnessed it only work two or three times. And I've noticed that it works if you make a very abrupt stop when going at very high speed. Apart from that, automatic pause works when you enter a place that does not see GPS. But, no working never outdoors. And, I'm using Ticwatch Pro 3 GPS device.Anyone having the same problem and found a solution?Thank you.

First off all sorry that the folowing screenshots are in German. Hope this won't be big issue.When I receive new kudos or one of my favorite contacts uploaded a new activity I receive a push notification:When I klick on this notification I am directed to the corresponding activity. I can check who elso gave me kudos or I can leave kudos and/or comments on my favorite friends activity. So far so good.The question is: If I do like above why does the number batch on the bell and home symbol not disappear? Why is it still necessary to first open the notifications (bell symbol) and then switch back to the home screen again to make the number batch disappear?Is there anything here that I'm missing or could this be revised?

I have recently noticed an influx of previously unheard-of riders who have appeared in the Club I ride with.  I am not the administrator of the Club, but I thought I would ask the question anyway - "how has this happened, have any other clubs come across this glitch, and how do we remove them"?  They are also clogging up the Leaderboard!

Hello,I have some difficulty to really appreciate the Start Points feature on map because it’s misleading with real geographic points.For instanceI can see ‘Start Point to [summit name] with written below ‘x nb of routes’ but I can not see where is this ‘summit name’ which I am interested in.And it arrived that I used the start point location instead of the geographical destination point due to this confusion.If it may be difficult to ensure that associated geographical destination of a Start Point is displayed (such as straight dashed lines in between) I guess it could be possible to see the routes which are associated to those start points ?From my knowledge, I was not able to see them, but only the suggested routes corresponding to the active criteria. I was looking for a hill segment that I wanted to try for the first time, and when I found it discovered that I was already recorded in Strava as having done it.  I looked at the route that I had supposedly done (on 22/05/2022) and it's one that I have never completed.  It does start and end a couple of miles from where I live, and there are some parts that I have done as recently as yesterday(!), but there are others which I don't know at all.  It feels very odd. Has this happened to anyone else?

Feature: Define the default equipment depending on the activity type.For instance: I use different running shoes when running on the treadmill/virtual run than when running outdoors.Also it would be great to have another rule to do the same based on distance of the activity     

My Wahoo elemnt bolt reads 18.3 Ave speed and Strava 18.2 Ave. This happens quite often on many of my rides at the moment. Why is this?

Currently I have the phone app looping around forever attempting to sync an activity, which possibly fails because it exactly overlaps a existing activity. Only one actual activity was recorded today. See below.Reviewing the details of the pending activity:

Hi,I'm a long time user of Strava. But lately a missing hiker have been missing in my nearby area.And few questions remain about what could have been done, with the use of the community.Discussions and community process over rescue are not easy, and quite often spread over many facebook group/forum and apps. And when I believe it is important to leave the professional do the job.Sometimes after few days, lack of budget for the rescue, and or other reasons.The search stop. What remain most of the time is to find the body of the missing person, to help the family. My question for Strava:Is there any way that the search of a area can be done with multiple user, using a heat map to know the covered ground of specific hickers or the community, get access to photo and or any data who could help save lifes? Latest informations seems to have people sharing tracks on Gaia, but nothing easy or simple like t
