Hello and welcome to another edition of Tuesday Chat with Team Strava! This is a special time of year for those of us in North America. Winter has drawn to a close and signs of spring are everywhere.  And for hockey fans like me, it’s time for the NHL Playoffs.   For those not familiar, NHL stands for National Hockey League and it isn’t strictly “national” in nature; in fact it encompasses teams from 2 countries - U.S.A. and Canada, and features players from many other countries.  The teams compete with each other during the regular season to determine who qualifies for the playoffs, which usually begin around mid April. Ever been in that situation where someone gives you a thank you and then you instantly say thank you back? Or is it just me who instantly feels the need to say thank you back as a way to offset my blushes. Either way it's really a nice compliment when you receive a thank you and can turn an average day into a better one.  Behold the 👍! What strava has done for me. For me, strava has played a big role in my weight loss journey. And it all started a couple of years ago when a colleague pushed me to lose weight. And wanted me on strava. So he could keep an extra close eye on me and give me kudos when i was active. It was heavy, but I felt the little kudos I got and the little pressure to register something. It motivated me further. Unfortunately, I hurt my back, became unmotivated and deleted the account. Gained weight, and life became heavier again. But i never completely gave up. After treatment and physiotherapy. Then it was back to good old strava. Competing against myself. Set better times, get higher on segments. And bang, to this day I am 45 kilos lighter. And it just keeps getting better.

Hi all, I wrote a book called  "Reflections of a Runner:  365 Verses from the Heart"Strava helped me write this book because I use Strava like a journal for thoughts. I took my Strava posts that were reflections/poetry and combined them together into this book, then cut down until I had the 365 best verses in 8 chapters and 85 pages. The book is focused on the philosophy of running and explores thoughts on racing, time, courage, mindset, art, purpose, wisdom, and training.   The purpose of this book is to inspire you to create and turn the act of running into an art!If you are interested in philosophy and running, I think you will really enjoy the book. In February of this year, a powerful earthquake hit parts of Turkey & Syria killing more than 49,000 people and leaving millions of others in need of basic life necessities including shelter, food and clean water. Our community members and the folks at Strava wanted to show support to the people affected by this disaster. To raise awareness and help the people of Turkey & Syria, Strava hosted a global challenge. Strava also made a donation to the International Committee of the Red Cross, which provides direct relief to those affected and displaced. Hi Strava members,I have a very strange problem going on and the people at Garmin have told me it is a Strava issue and I have yet to have Strava figure it out.IF you have 6 minutes to spare, can you please watch this screencast video of a 5 week problem and if you truly think you know what is going on, I'd love a solution.  I have tried everything imaginable but Garmin is telling me it is a Strava server malfunction of pushing 99 Strava Live segments to my Garmin Connect every time I such then to my 1040 thus not allowing me to use my device for live segments.click for this screencast video I made..  thanks! https://www.loom.com/share/a6ef342fea7b44429bbd8d231099d424Thanks!Barry

Received an email from Strava today telling me to sign in to my account as I’d not used it for some time or it would be closed. I’m in the app almost daily. It also said that it might be for a different account. I’m confused.

Although not everyone in the world writes dates in the MM-DD-YYYY format, March 14 or 3/14 gives everyone the opportunity to celebrate Pi Day and most importantly Pie. We love Pi Day at Strava, celebrating every year with our own home made pies shared with our team.  When participating in any type of activity I am often extra motivated by knowing what snacks I have packed in my bag or what places I can stop off along the way to buy and enjoy good food. Bike rider for 40 years+; used to race. Today I ride to keep fit. Winter training is inddor using Kinomap and XERT.Started using Strava to aggregate my inddor sessions and a better overview. Strava also allows XERT to pull my Kinomap sessions in for a full picture of my current training state.Pleasantly surprised by the small challenges available in Strava, great motivators, and I thus wanted to join the Le Col Season Pass challenge as I felt it was both achievable and worthwhile the effort.But how do I reach the 1000 meters of elevation when only cycling indoors?For XERT sessions, these probably will only record elevtion when running in slope mode something I have not yet tried.In Kinomap, elevation gain is recorded when riding challenge mode, but it appears not to sync this data to Strava? How do I get Kinomap and Strava to sync the elevation gain?/Ulf

Hi Strava Community, Is there anyone else out there like me who does a lot of self care and training recovery and wants to log it on strava?I’d like to make it where more of us are:1. Doing preventative activities together as a group2. Sharing what we are doing as training recovery and self care to inspire others on our feed so we stay healthy and get stronger3. Providing accountability to do the training recovery work outside of the actual workouts by posting, giving kudos, tagging, and sharing what we are doing for self care.Does this appeal to anyone and how could we make this happen Strava?
