Strava Features Chat

I've just resubscribed, and I've found random photos appearing on my personal heat map. They are intrusive at best, and at worst actually obscure the route unless I zoom in really close. It's the most useful (to me) of the subscriber features. My own don't appear (I'm happy with with), but I don't want others there. How can I turn them off?

Recently been reviewing my avg pace stats on runs and am trying to understand why often my runs may show a pace of say 3:35m/km while the avg pace will show 7:22m/km. I have tried this several times and with others who did the same runs as me but their stats show as their run ave pace. i.e. if 3:35, show as 3:35. Any insights to understand how this feature works is appreciated. Thanks

I have a specific question regarding the data in leaderboards that I haven't gotten a clear answer on when searching.I have created a club for our XC team to track mileage.  Will data from their activities show on the leaderboard if they have their account set to private and their activities to followers only?  I currently am not following any of their accounts but runs are showing on the leaderboard so it would seem even with a private account, the data is recorded to the leaderboard.  Is this correct? No activities are showing on the activity feed which would seem to indicate they do not have their activity setting to public.

If I look at my personal records, I have only cycled distances of 80 kilometers/50 miles or more. The shorter distances are all 0 seconds. Of course I cycled these shorter distances, otherwise there would be no longer distances listed. In addition, these times, with the exception of the last 2 times, may not be correct at all. Either the hours are missing on the front or they are the times that should be displayed in the empty fields/for the shorter distancesAdding the “virtual ride” option would be nice. For example, the Stelvio is now considered my biggest climb, even though I have not cycled it in real life.In addition, I would like to mention that kilometers are displayed in 3 ways, such as 10k, 20km. (dott) and 40 km(Dutch Strava website)

I saw this recent post about someone's RE score changing because they updated their heart rate zones. I have a similar problem, but I did not change my HR values. Instead, I added a Pace Zone based on a recent 10k race result. You can see in the individual activities which ones were before I added this zone because the Pace Zone area at the bottom asks you to update your profile to get a pace analysis. My first run with these zones populated is on March 14. Since then, despite going through the peak of my marathon training cycle, my 'fitness' has gone down based on Strava's RE calculations. Hello,My name is Matt, I have a Free Account.I wanted to raise a potential Bug Report but i'm not sure if it's an actual bug at this point. I have logged a support ticket (2861013) but am unsure if this was actually recognized as a bug or feature update.The issue I am experiencing are for any challenges in Strava that count/identify activities by the day (i.e. like the monthly 'Streak Challenges' where you log 3 activities a week on different days) where I happen to have multiple valid activities on the same day AND for whatever reason delete the activity the challenge recognized (which appears to be the first chronologically on that day 100% of the time) on the day I had more than one logged. When I delete the activity the challenge recognized the app does not appear to try to find a replacement even if there are valid activities that would also count on that day.So, the challenge appears to correctly recognize the activity

Hi.15.05.2024 All statistics from this year and earlier are gone. There are only rides from May 15.What happened? 2014-2024 = 0 stats 😞 

 I have been trying to follow the guidance in this help article to view suggestions for segments that I am close to the leaderboard for, or close to becoming the local legend for, but I can't get it to work at all. The options that the help article talks about just don't seem to be there. Can anyone help me get this feature working, please?I am using a premium subscriber using Strava app version 363.6 (last updated 6th June 2024) on Android 11.Thank you for your help.

 It seems that the iOs app got a UI update in the recent version... I've got mixed feelings about that. Overall, it's not bad - not that many aggressively orange elements anymore (e.g. in the splits chart), rather streamlined view of activity details... I like that!However, tiny details bug me, such as the changed highlights in the notifications: Previously, new notifications would be highlighted with a background colour, old notifications would have the same background as the rest of the app; now the old notifications are highlighted, that's quite confusing. Is it a bug or a feature? Or perhaps just a partial / unfinished change in preparation for the dark mode (fingers crossed)?

My husband and I both use Strava to record our daily workouts. In the past two weeks, we have had multiple instances where the time showing during the workout is accurate, but when we complete the activity, it is short, usually by over 20 minutes. For example, my husband did a 60-minute ruck yesterday, which the timer displayed, but when he ended the activity, Strava only recorded 32 minutes. Anyone else experiencing this, or know how to fix it?Thanks!

 When looking at the 'Power Zones' panel for a bike ride, I see column Z7 ("neuromuscular") annotated with range "356--1". The literal interpretation is that the range is from 356W to -1W. Clearly the actual range is unbounded on the right: "356+", but likely -1 is an integer placeholder for infinity, and that placeholder is getting exposed in the UI.

I have a Garmin Edge 830.  When I go for my standard one-hour 'workout' ride, there is a 300-metre section of road which has traffic congestion.  To avoid having this slow and zero power section of road in my ride file, I pause the Garmin at the start of the congestion and then unpause it after 300 metres at the end of the congestion (approximately 50 seconds in duration).Garmin Connect does a great job of removing the time and distance.  Garmin Connect essentially treats the 300 metres as rest time, where the rest starts at one location and stops at another.Strava on the other hand, adds the 50 seconds to the 'moving time' without adding any distance, power, or Heart Rate data (because there is none).  This makes no sense and results in an artificially lower average speed and average power.  In Stava, when I switch the activity type to a 'Run' and then switch it back to a 'ride', Strava gets the correct and identical moving time to Garmin and

The matching feature does not count more than 200 ( matched runs ) 😇, time to change a route 😂 

Unsure why the default sport selected (running) isn’t the main graph displayed on my profile and is instead something done secondary (weight training). is there an option to customize what is displayed on initial viewing? thanks 

I have been a strava member for a while. Ever since 2020 during Covid, I have based my entire speed work around taking Strava segments in a crazy HIIT workout. It has helped me immensely in lowering my marathon times to below 2:50 now as a 50 year old. I used to look up different strava segments in different areas and map out my runs. I can't do that anymore with the updates because barely any of the segments are showing up anymore. Plus they show up randomly. I have a segment in my neighborhood run by 5 people that shows up but not the segment that over 2000+ people have run. It is really random. I wish Strava would go back to showing more of the segments. I have been a member for a while, but this literally defeats the purpose of me even using Strava anymore. Hopefully this is something being addressed. 

Hey. So i am trying to figure how to make a custom area I ALWAYS want to hide. I have a friend building a trail and trying to keep it on the semi down low, nothing to do with owners etc.. It's just to keep the Tree burning rubbish dumping A/holes off of it. Sometimes i might pass by and do a wee check up on how it's progressing but i'd like to hide that area with a 2km bubble. However there is no postcode, street or address that I can use (not the woods but pic for example). I happly use the the Hide address feature to hide my house, partner and family. Those addresses are fix post codes but this is not.Is there a way to do it?

I have recently uploaded route that I have recorded on Komoot onto Strava, which works fine, but the total km ridden on the Komoot ride is not adde to my weekly total. Do I need to do anything else?

As of last 14/05/24, I always receive a message on my Android phone" strava needs a longer activity to upload and analyse", no matter if I walk 1 Km or 5,5Km. I tried some suggestions of using sync button, but I could not find it  

Am I the only one wanting an option in the personal heatmap to have all routes display with the same intensity? In other words minus the heat. 

Hello!On activities that took place in Bosnia and Herzegovina, under the name of a user, it states "location, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina" or "location, Republika Srpska". It doesn't say, for example, "Mostar Bosnia and Herzegovina" nor "Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina" like in other countries.Problem is: it states the name of an entity, not the name of a country.In USA for example, it doesn't say "Los Angeles, California" but "Los Angeles, USA". Or in Germany, it doesn't say "Munich, Bavaria" but "Munich, Germany".Every country has some regions, states, provinces, cantons etc, but I've noticed that only Bosnia and Herzegovina isn't named on Strava.How can we fix this?

Why are propeller heads always changing UIs? The previous progress tab was awesome. Everything in one simple view. Whoever designed this turd of a tab is clearly not a user of the app. Boo hiss. It’s total **bleep** 💩 

Hope this is the right place to post this question.  I have had been using Strava with my Apple Watch for around a yer. I get all the cardio data other than Cardio Recovery. Oddly, I have received data from it on two random occasions, for three completely different types of runs (twice in a year).  My Apple Watch 7 was able to give me cardio recovery data, so not sure why the Series 8 isn't with Strava workotus. If anyone can advise on how to get data for cardio recovery from Strava workouts ontothe health app on my phne, that would be much appreciated.   

Some things that bug me about Strava. Obvious things to add, not sure why they don't? See more than 20 activities at once on Activities page See Pace/Mile on list of activities page Label runs "Boston Running" or "Los Angles Running" like Garmin does instead of "Morning Run" or "Lunch Run". Far more interesting to see where I ran rather than the time of day Why can't I see someone's full activity list on their profile? It's like going to someone's Facebook profile and only being able to see their last 3 posts. This is so annoying..... Easily search activities: I want to be able to quickly find a run I did in Tampa in 2019, but it's like finding a needle in a haystack on Strava. When I sort a Segment Leaderboard and I'm on page 8 and I click on a person's name to view their profile, when I click "Back" it go

When I create and activity with GPX file, it calculates Time and distance itself which looks like total time, no moving time. So each time I do entry using gpx file it shows more time. I'm also sending moving time from here, but it seems strava does not use that. Can you please help me with this issue?

I was under impression that by setting a visibility radius around my home address I'll hide any activity within that radius from the map. But it turns out that applies only to start and end of an activity. But what if someone stops by the home in the middle of a run or ride, for example to drink or refill water, or for any other reason? It turns out that is perfectly visible on the map if the activity is public. The right solution would be to hide any part of activity from the map within the privacy radius - not just the start and the end.
