Strava Features Chat

Recently I was riding and every time I completed a mile, the elapsed time for the mile would pop up at the top of the screen.  However now I don’t see that anymore.  I love that feature and want to know how to enable it again. 

As of a few days ago, my audio notifications have stopped working. Strava doesn't announce when I start or stop a work out or my miles. I am using Android on a Samsung phone. I have tried all of the following:- Reboots- Uninstalling/re-installing Strava (with reboots)- All 4 volumes are up- Matching my Text-to-Speech language with my system language (English on both)- Turning off and on the audio cues for miles and start/stop- With and without headphones. I hear other notifications, such as texts in both cases Any other ideas?Thanks,Tim

Hello Strava Community! I rode 6600 km this year, with a part of this kilometers done through commuting. I am curious to know which part has been achieved through commuting, and which part achieved through "standard" ride. Is there a way to compute / display this information easily in Strava (mobile or laptop version)? I have been looking for it, and the training recap is weekly, not doing a total of km for a given year.Thanks for your help, and let me know if my request is not clear! Gilles D.

I ride 2 Mountain Bikes but can only set one of them to default sport "Mountain Bike". The moment I try and set the other bike also to default "Mountain Bike" the first bike default is "Blanked out". Why is that?Also, for those of us who travel regularly and use a hotel stationary bike it would be cool to have a bike type option "stationary bike".And while I am at it, I also ride a "hybrid flatbar" which is neither road nor mountain, can there not be a "Hybrid" type option. 

My “routes” continue to show that I am “offline” and won’t load anything, and won’t let me create a new route. Tried deleting the app and turning off/on phone. Suggestions?

Very often when using Strava and linking outside in anyway it has way too much friction. 1. sample 1 -BWR announces a new segment and posts the link. Upon click of link asks me to download app. It’s already downloaded. I click get app. It redirects me to the app, but to my feed,  it the view of the original links. Fix this. 2.i post a Strava ride on instagram. People click it. They get the same login/ redirect issue. if you platform wants to grow and stay relevant make it easy to post and share. Outsiders need to see some of the inside before experiencing high friction points. Look at instagram. Let’s you land on content then after time/ actions asks you to login. asking for login and being high friction before social value is exchanged deters both posters  from sharing and lookers from seeing. 

I'm a free user and agreed to the data exchange between Garmin and Strava. However, I noticed that each time my cycling activity updates on Strava, it doesn't sync automatically to Garmin Connect. Is it because this feature isn't supported for free users?

Hello colleagues I have created a private club defined as "cycling".Several members have been added to the group. Unfortunately, I've recently noticed that some member activities are not showing up in weekly. I checked and the cycling activities that are missing are set as public, so it's not a question of permissions.Have you encountered such a situation?    Thanks.

So with my old Vivoactive 3 I would record my squash games as a normal run. Obviously the run map was irrelevant but it would give me the distance I ran/moved which I really liked. (Normally ended up being 3-5k depending on how hard the game was)However on my new Venu 2 if I record my squash as a run in the same way the map is always weird (one straight line) and only records me as having moved very little. Normally under 1k. I have switched to recording my matches as "cardio"However I really like tracking how far I've run in my matches. Any ideas on how to record the activity so it measures the distance covered? I assume its to do with the GPS not liking the fact you move in a very confined space in squash but seems weird the older watch recorded it fine whilst the newer one can't. Any thoughts or solutions much appreciated  

Strava recently announced 9, yes, NINE, new sport types https://www.strava.com/clubs/231407/posts/23088067 Virtual Row was one of the new sport types announced - where is it? It's been almost a week now since the announcement and virtual row is nowhere to be seen. Any update on when we can expect to have virtual row available given it was launched a week ago?

I log my strength training manually in the Strava App. Normally it's the same content except a higher weight sometimes. Is it possible to duplicate an existing manual entry and just edit the text description instead of create a new exercise every time? 

I joined a group which got me more Kudos – which certainly helps with motivation – so I Followed people in the group. But now Strava is not allowing me to follow more athletes it seems. I’m pretty sure I’m under 2000 I’m following… most likely just a couple hundred. Did I reach some sort of a limit? Does the system think I’m a bot? Do I have to unfollow someone just to follow someone else? Thank you EdieBrooklyn

Hi,Please kindly advice if it is possible to add heart rate to existing activity? From unknown reason my heart rate was not synchronized in my last activity (I assume some problems with my equipment, probably solved now). And now I have two separate activities. One where are all data (GPS, pace, cadence, etc) and second one only with heart rate.Question, how can I add heart rate to existing activity with other data? I have heart rate in seperate .fit file.Thanks,Krzysztof 

Good evening, I made a mistake in making the annual Strava subscription, by mistake it was uploaded to an account that I didn't even know I had and that I don't use anyway. I asked for help in the Strava chat but no one answered me. Can I do something? ?can I move the subscription??? in the meantime I have suspended it on that account.....or should I resign myself to having lost the money???

Hi,  I am devastated, pushed myself to get a PB. Strava hasn’t given me anything for it? I didn’t pause I ran through 5k to make sure I went over? My Apple watch is showing a pb In achievements at 5k 22:30 but strava is showing nothing?

Is it possible to add sound to third party workout imports?For example, Nike Training Club's videos do not include audio when the workouts are imported to Strava. 

Would like to see Strava offer custom stats feature so athletes can add for 800m, 400m, etc...

hi i want to merge 2 accounts which i have . One of them is already active and i upload there all my activities . I pay to activate my account from my mistake to an other with i make with my another mail. How i can merge these 2 accounts because i dont want to lose my money 

Hi there,  There is a path near me which is designated as a public footpath, but Strava is happy to route cycling routes down it - in the UK there is a distinction in law between bridleway/byway (cycles allowed) and footpath (cycles not allowed). I had a run-in with the landowner yesterday, and they are well within their rights to insist that no cycles are allowed.  I understand that Strava uses OSM data but this appears to be correctly tagged as a footpath only (see screenshot below) - implying the data is not being correctly grabbed, or the Strava base map needs some kind of refresh. I wonder if there is a way to ensure that Strava does not route cyclists down here in the future.  FWIW - whether or not this path is appropriate to ride on is irrelevant, the distinction is made in law. I feel there is a delicate truce that must be maintained between landowners and the public regarding access rights and path designations in the UK. Proof of ability to route down this

The current algorithm that determines Top Sport for Year in Sport is inaccurate. I walked 200 miles this year, and ran 1,800 miles--yet my "Top Sport" is walking. The reason is that my runs are split up between "Trail Run" and "Run" both of whose individual count of activities are less than the number of total walks I did since I typically go for a walk in the evening. You could fix this by either determining "Top Sport" by the number of miles NOT by number of activities, or if you are intent on counting activities, then count "All Run" instead of the subcategories. Either way, the algorithm is horrible and as a paying subscriber who ran 1800+ miles, one 100-miler, 2 50-milers, and 2 50Ks this year, it's reveals a lack of seriousness on your part to reveal to me that my top sport is "Walking" in the year in review feature. 

Hi all. Strava used to have a very useful feature whereby a user could highlight a section of an activity and see what the distance and elevation gain was within it. I now cannot use that feature - when I highlight a section by dragging it it no longer gives the stats for that section. It used to be available on the main 'Analysis' button, but now that is no longer a button. Does anyone know how to still access this drag feature to get the stats within a section? ThanksDavid

Hello I have big ask to Strava Management. Mayby you can send to them my message.I use strava from 3 years. I'm happy with strava but i have one dream. After the end of Endomodo, i saved all activities in my pc. But i can not export them to strava 😞 All files are optional in tcx and in json format (attached foto)Mayby you will find good solution and i can export them to strava? If it will be possible, i promise, i will subscribe strava till the end of my sport activity. And i'm sure, tausend of old endomondo user will make the same...Sorry for my english... I hope, someone can help me...Greetings from Poland

I miss the option to edit multiple activities at once, like visibility and delete options and the bike that was used. For example, I have many invisible activities that I want change to visible. Now I can only do one at the time.

For people that I follow, can I tell whether their activities have had their visibility level set to Followers or Everyone?
