Strava Features Chat

For a few weeks now I've been facing the following situation: in the Strava app I have notifications but no warning bubbles appear on the home screen. I've uninstalled the app, cleared cache and data, checked the settings but to no avail. What should I do?

I’ve given up waiting for Strava to give us a way to show Elapsed Time. Some of you may already know this trick, hitting PAUSE and immediately RESUME during an activity (do this just once) and your run or ride will show Moving and Elapsed Time with just a second or two off the clock.   

The Galloway method is worldwide and used by runners in the thousands, why has Strava not taking it to the next level and have live interval walk run walk  capability 

I’d like to merge an old account.  Unfortunately I don’t have access to the email address for the old account.  Once the data is merged to new account, I’d like to delete the old account.  Is this possible? 

My Strava post for snowboarding today didn’t upload until I got home from the mountain since I didn’t have great service. I tried to look up how to fix this issue so I turned off the indoor toggle setting on Strava.com and that didn’t change anything. I also noticed my max speed, vertical and runs didn’t post either, the only thing that is shown as recorded was the time, distance and avg speed :/ I’m super bummed about this and would love to have some help to get it figured out!

I have not needed to use the mapping facility since the New Year but when opening it up this week I find it has changed. Is this just my Strava set up or is it new. When I open Strava up all seems normal, apart from it being a bit slow. When I go to my routes to alter my standard routes and select one, it comes up in 3D, there is no option to change to 2D. When I click Edit the map goes to 2D. When I click on the route to change and try to move it, the whole map moves. I can now, I have found, click on a Waypoint and alter route but the whole screen changes from Editing to Building a new route. Do I have a problem or is this how it should be

Use caseA challenge that occurs on a specific day of the week over X number of weeks. Current problemChallenges have to be over a span of days/weeks. Users are not limited to specific days, and challenges cannot be set to a single day that repeats each week.

Another improvement that would add real value inside Strava is visibility into which specific activities generated a heatmap segment.Current limitation:When viewing a heatmap, especially personal heatmaps, you can see where activity has occurred but you cannot easily identify which ride created that trace. Using the Route Builder in Strava every week to organize rides has made one friction point very clear: the number of clicks required to complete simple actions keeps increasing.Example: 3 clicks vs 1 Heatmaps tab → Global → Done This flow could easily be a single step. Instead, it interrupts momentum and pulls you out of the creative process of building or refining a route.When planning rides regularly — especially across multiple regions — small UX inefficiencies compound fast. For a paid service, this level of friction feels unnecessary.Suggestions:• Reduce multi-step confirmations where possible• Allow one-click toggles for heatmap modes• Add keyboard shortcuts (or clearly communicate them if they already exist)• Enable quick toggle hotkeys for route path on/off• Use the existing left-side white column more efficiently for fast-access actionsRoute building should feel fluid. For those of us who train across multiple locations and countries,the current route browsing system on Strava is starting to feel very limiting.Right now, route filtering is extremely basicmainly distance and elevation. That might work for casual users,but for athletes who build structured training libraries,it quickly becomes messy and hard to manage.Key issues:• No proper location-based organization (country / city / region grouping)• No way to bulk reorganize or archive old routes• No tagging or categorization system• Difficult to quickly find specific training routesSuggested improvements: Location folders or auto-grouping by map region Custom labels or tags (e.g., Race, Intervals, Z2, Recovery, Climbing, Travel) Ability to archive, delete, or bulk edit routes Smart filtering (surface type, race simulation, training intent)

Would be great if there were more categories in the statistics tab. There are a lot of activities to choose from that are tracked. But it only gives 3 options for statistics. (Running, Biking, Swimming)

It would be very helpful for the Strava App to be able to track oxygen saturation from devices.

On the hill segment leaderboards, I have noticed that the people in first have gotten a faster time by going down the hill instead of up it. For example, there is a VERY steep hill near my house that most people average around 22-45 seconds on going up, but the top two have a time of 5 & 11 seconds, and soon inspection it showed that they had went down the hill (most likely at the cost of their shins) and got 1st and 2nd for that hill. Would adding a system to check if the time was achieved during a rise or decline in elevation be of help?

I ran a marathon this weekend and started my garmin about one minute late, so my activity is showing that I didn’t quite run a full marathon. Is there a way to edit the map to add that initial ~.1 mile?

Hi, I’ve noticed a possible bug in the Android version of the app. On the “Hide Specific Address” settings page, the hidden area appears to be shifted/misaligned in the preview. Hello Strava Team, I’d like to suggest a feature that would greatly benefit hikers, backpackers, and trekking guides. Currently, when recording long hikes or expeditions that last multiple days, the activity is saved either as a single continuous activity or needs to be manually stopped and restarted each day. This makes it difficult to accurately represent multi-day efforts as a single expedition while still preserving daily statistics. Feature suggestion:A “Multi-Day Activity” mode that would allow users to:• Record an expedition as one overall activity (total distance, elevation, and duration)• Automatically split the activity into daily segments• View both the daily breakdown and the total expedition summary• Pause overnight without battery drain or data loss This would be especially valuable for:• Multi-day treks and thru-hikes• Backpacking trips• Trail runners on sta

Hello, i have problem with my alpin ski records. In elevation I can se only some vertical information but no elevation gain. Is it possible to fix this somehow?

Currently there isn’t a suitable category for eFoil activities. eBike would be suitable (and shouldn’t clash with existing eBike athletes, one would hope), however it doesn’t make sense from an eFoil community perspective (locations, courses, waves). “Surf activity” is the most obvious next choice, but this causes PR / CR issues with human powered surf craft (and a fair amount of angst & frustration from the Surf community - understandably so too).  thank you in advance for your consideration / response. 

Given the nature of cycling clubs, and their *yearly* membership schedules, it is a no brainer to expand the current week-based leaderboard to monthly / quarterly and yearly time periods. Clubs measure such periods themselves ,,, they shouldn’t have to given all the Premium Strava subscriptions their members invest in.  --JGC, Minneapolis
