Strava Features Chat

I want to be able to share a several flyovers to non Strava users.  In the android app Flyover is being offered as a choice when I hit the share activity button. So map visibly is being set correctly, otherwise the option will not show.When a recipient tries to open my shared link they get the message - “This activity could not be found. It was either deleted or is private.” If I open it the link when logged in to my account it works. I am puzzled by the inconsistent instructions in this forum, in the Strava help and elsewhere describing what is needed to get this to work.    Yesterday I was seeing my shared Flyovers open for others without Strava accounts even with Individual activity visibility = Followers. Instructions say this should not work but it did.I have set Activity PermissionsIndividual activity visibility = Everyone. map visibility = EveryoneGeneral PermissionProfile page = Followers

Pace per 500m exampleLap split has auto changed to heart rate. Workout analysis changes from pace per 500m for laps to heart rate some time post event being uploaded. The pace measurement time per 500m is really useful and is not replicated when converted to heart rate. It is really frustrating and I have no control over the change. it would be great to either be able to switch or at least set as a preference.  ThanksMarcus Below photo are of the same event, before and after.

My Fitbit refuses to send heart rate data to Strava. I can see the heart rate data in the fitbit app but it will not come through to Strava. Any suggestions? I’ve checked the settings on the fitbit app and HR data is allowed to go through.

The current algorithm that determines Top Sport for Year in Sport is inaccurate. I walked 200 miles this year, and ran 1,800 miles--yet my "Top Sport" is walking. The reason is that my runs are split up between "Trail Run" and "Run" both of whose individual count of activities are less than the number of total walks I did since I typically go for a walk in the evening. You could fix this by either determining "Top Sport" by the number of miles NOT by number of activities, or if you are intent on counting activities, then count "All Run" instead of the subcategories. Either way, the algorithm is horrible and as a paying subscriber who ran 1800+ miles, one 100-miler, 2 50-milers, and 2 50Ks this year, it's reveals a lack of seriousness on your part to reveal to me that my top sport is "Walking" in the year in review feature. 

I just updated my mobile Strava app to see the Year in Sport and it made my map feature useless. Is anyone else having this problem? In addition to having the map covered by information boxes and the headmap not being visible, the map is covered with giant white blobs. The map feature was one of my favorite parts of the app and now its useless. 

 There’s an icon for Alpine skiing, but it doesn’t work.  Uphill distance in the chairlift is included (!!) so speed is completely skewed.  Also, non-sensical segments, perhaps from summer hiking or mountain biking (?) are included in stats.  The alpine skiing icon should be removed from the list of sports that Strava “supports” until this is fixed!  The stats make absolutely no sense for downhill skiing and they are extremely misleading until you use another app to see your real stats and then figure out what the problem is with Strava.

Fitness Score doesn’t seem to take into account Strava App activities (ones I only log from the Strava App on my phone) vs those I log on my Garmin and import into Strava. Eg Nov 7 activity from Strava App is not part of Fitness Score in the screenshots.  Also, the Fitness score by always says today is “yesterday”

When im browsing Strava Maps I can see the blue dots that indicate Community Photos.  When I click on one to view it, I just see a blue circle spinning like it's trying to load.   This is on the web version. Does anyone know what the issue could be?

I’ve had no profile stats for about a month I reckon. There is just a blank space where they used to go. I’ve clicked on ‘Refresh Stats’ and I get an updating popup window but then nothing ever happens.This seems to be a recurring thing Strava - get your DBAs onto this and put a permanent fix in please.Anyone else still getting these issues?S.

 Description: When editing an activity to change the assigned pair of shoes, the distance is not added to the new pair. This issue occurs both in the iOS app and in the web application. Previously, the mileage was updated correctly when modifying the shoe assignment.  Steps to reproduce: 1. Log an activity with the default pair of shoes. 2. Edit the activity and change the assigned shoes to another pair. 3. Check the mileage totals for both pairs.  The distance remains with the original pair and is not added to the new one.

Hi Team, I am having sync issue between Strava and Zepp. Whenever I start the activity in my Amazefit, it shows all the values correctlyWhen i sync my activity to the strava. It does not show the correct time, map and my location. Also, it does show the max speed of 0 km/h for my cycling activity. 

I'm connecting with Strava through the zepp app. But I'm experiencing a lot of inconvenience because my workout route record is visible on the zepp app but not on Strava. What should I do in this case?

Hi All,I know you can crop a run however when I do Parkrun the route goes under a large highway bridge and the distance is too short, not too long. I can't figure out how to add the extra distance into the activity in my Strava app. I have the paid version and can edit in Garmin, just not in Strava. It seems odd to me if this is not possible. Am I missing something?

Hello,I'm experiencing an issue with the Athlete Intelligence feature in the Strava app. Every time I finish an activity, I receive an error message saying "Oops – something went wrong," and no summary is generated.I’ve already tried restarting the app and resetting it completely, but the problem persists. Hello, To record a indoor cycling session I seem to have 2 options. 1, to manually enter a recording selecting time and distance, but miss out heart rate data. 2, to record heart rate data via a smart watch, where Strava app wont let you enter the distance covered. So then miss out distance covered.Am I missing something or Is there a way to get the best of both worlds. To record heart rate data and to add a distance associated with the session?. 

I usually crop the ends of my bike rides to remove “noise”.  I have done this more than 1,000 times without any problems.  However, today I tried to crop yesterday’s ride without success.  I proceeded as normal but after watching an hourglass and “Cropping in Progress” message for 30 minutes it returned to show the Activity, but it had not been cropped.  This happened twice.Maybe this unusual problem is related to other recently reported issues about failures to delete duplicated Activities and very slow building of initial Segment leaderboards (over 40 hours).

Hi, the latest updates of the iOS app have some added automation which seems to try to be helpful, but, please, how can I disable that? 😬First - making a screenshot of activity details triggers a sharing screen (where you can save an image of the map or the activity photo with stats). I understand it might make sense in some use cases, but if I'm taking a screenshot of the splits, elevation graph or pretty much anything in the activity details, I really do not want the sharing screen to pop up and hide the details that I want to capture. Second - once opening a newly imported activity, a "quick edit" dialogue pops up immediately prompting to rename the activity etc. But it's too simplified and doesn't include all the options (such as: shoes), so I always just close it and open the actual Edit mode. The "quick edit" is just a distracting and frustrating step. If anything needs to be automated this way, then perhaps

I usually record my bike rides on both my phone and my watch.  The phone has more accurate GPS data and the watch has the advantage of recording heart rate data.  After a ride I review the data and if the GPS data on the watch looks OK I keep that version of the Activity (and delete the one on the phone to avoid duplication) or if there is a problem with the watch GPS I only keep the phone version.  This has worked quite well for about 2 years (about 400 Activities).  I just noticed that both Activity versions are showing on the Activity listing for the last 4 days, even though I had deleted one of each pair.  As a test, I again deleted a recent duplicated Activity - it disappeared from the Activity page (as expected), but when I refreshed the page it reappeared !  Has someone been tinkering with the design of this part of the web or is there something else going on ?  Maybe it’s a coincidence, but about 4 days ago I recovered an unrelated Activity from the “recently deleted” page.

We used to be able to create events within 24 hours of the event itself and can no longer do so. Not sure I understand the reasoning behind this. It’s very practical for us to decide on a route, say for a recovery ride on Sunday, Saturday afternoon/evening for Sunday morning. Can’t do that anymore. What gives Strava??

Currently, the pickleball activity does not track shoe usage. While it may seem unnecessary, I would argue that it’s an important metric for many pickleball enthusiasts. As new shoe companies arrive on the scene, it’s nice to know how many hours of play we are getting out of our shoes. This helps determine future shoe purchases.
