Granular permissions for Activities and which Followers (esp being able to exclude some followers) Right now we can make an activity 'private', 'followers only' or 'everyone'. I'd like to see more granular permissions for the "followers" category, where we can further break that down into groups we create - and even have a group where we can add users we want to exclude. Basically, the same way Facebook lets you decide who can see your posts, so for example, be able to do something like "All followers except those on the exclude list" There are many reasons why someone might want to do this, perhaps they are training for something very competitive and don't want ALL their workouts shown to their followers. Or perhaps they are working out on their lunch break but it could get misunderstood that they are skipping work for a workout and don't want their work colleagues seeing those workouts, or a myriad of other reasons. This is different from outright blocking a follower. It would only hide certain activities from those excluded or not part of the default groups you create.

When I tap on a photo in an activity, it brings up a screen with all the photos on a given activity. The only way to return to the previous screen (whether that's the Home feed, or an activity detail page that I came from), is to tap the "x" in the top-left corner. It would be great if I could just swipe right from the left edge of the screen, similar to how swiping right works in the rest of the app. It's a bit annoying to have to reach all the way to the top-left (especially on larger phones, or with smaller hands) (I am using the iOS app; I have not used Android so I don't know if this suggestion applies there as well)

I previously posted similar in the leader boards forum: I would like opt out from including my activities on leader boards, by default, or ... make it an opt in feature for general users instead of opt out. One comment I got back previously was to change privacy settings. Also, coming into an individual activity after the fact an marking it 'virtual' will disable the data going into leader boards. But these not what I'm looking for here. I'm not concerned with privacy on this. I don't care who sees my times on anything. And I typically want activities to remain public: they sometimes are to show my own explorations on bicycle, with a few photos and some commentary of what I found there, for a given map track. This is one of my uses of Strava and what keeps me engaged in useful exercise. I don't want to manually edit everything as virtual. I do want mileage tracked and on which specific bike. I may look at my own times, or disregard if I can see they are not legitimate. Here is what I don't like about leader boards: if anything goes wrong, I potentially have to hear back from someone about stealing their KOM. 3 historical cases While new to Strava, in an accident. Traveled to hospital and home in vehicles. Recording was running for several days. I saved it as showing where and when the accident occurred. Received a fake KOM. Erroneous empty recording of an 80+ mile activity by the android phone app. I reproduced it with gotoes.org. Next day I notice I have multiple KOMs Poor GPS signal in the woods puts me on a different trail (a tough climb on gravel and a few erosion control steps) from the one I actually rode that day (easy). I am currently 4th overall and best of the year for a segment I wasn't on. The opinion that has grown on me is that leader boards game is fun concept but doesn't actually work well. But I'm forced into a game I am not interested in playing. Please provide opt out.

Hi there Strava. My na is Mikołaj and I'm a Strava subscriber. I would like to share with you an idea for the new Strava feature. I Was thinking, that it would be interesting on many levels, if you could create bike catalogue, that users could pick from to show on what bike they are riding. I am aware of the fact, that you can name e gear you are using. But the feature I am thinking of goes one step further. It would allow to create classifications, for example which bike has the most of road KOMs, which has the most mtb KOMs etc. It would also enalble to create classifications of which bikes are used to sprint, which are used to ride long distances, which are most popular onroad, which offroad. And why not go another step further? You are surely aware of wheel fetish that many riders have 🙂 why not create similar wheel catalogue? Or runners gear? Catalogues like this exists for example in automotive industry. While searching for tyres, you pick the car you are riding and the systems gives you right tyres. Why not do the similar with bikes and riders on Strava? Think about all the new data you could use (and sell), the new commercialistion possibilities. And ofcourse the user satsifaction or guidence while buying a bike. Anyway. It's just an idea I wanted to share. Perhaps I am not the first one that thought abou it 😉 Best, MJ

Recumbent bicycles have been banned from competitions by the UCI since 1934 because their design has aerodynamic advantages over normal bicycles and competition results are thus distorted. Why does Strava allow a mix of recumbent bikes and regular bikes on the leaderboards for cycling activity type? With a normal bike (diamond frame design) in most cases you have no chance of getting first place in the leaderboard when you have to compare yourself to a rider on a recumbent bike who can achieve a higher sustained speed with less power, this makes the leaderboard unusable for activity type cycling.

It would be fantastic if we could use the physical buttons on the Apple Watch to pause an activity. The workout app does this by using the Digital Crown and side button at the same time when swimming. Is this possible Strava?

As a 40+ old rider who has been riding for a while, it can be discouraging to not get achievements as I improve or when they come few and far between. There are days where I have the top time but there is no recognition. It would be positive to see how I did at the end of the day per segment. Daily acknowledgment for being in the top 10 for the day Total count of number of daily acknowledgement Maybe trophies for top 3

For athletes that like to hide certain stats (Calories, Speed, Start time or Heart Rate) info from activities, it would be great to be able to choose a default for this and have it automatically apply to every activity. Currently, you have to do this by editing each and every activity, and I think it's more realistic that users would want to apply this to all activities, verses only hiding certain stats from some activities.

Big fan of the service so please just see this as some customer feedback that I wanted to share. My annual subscription was recently auto renewed. Nice and easy. I received by email from PayPal the receipt as proof of purchase but nothing from Strava to verify this. 1. It would be nice for Strava to email me and tell me that my subscription is up for renewal 2. It would be nice to get an email confirming the successful renewal and be thanked. I'm investing my money in you. Treat me like a customer you're grateful for please. A small thing, but things like that matter to me Thanks Jamie

It would be helpful to have the option to hide the start and end of the activities by GPS coordinates or manually selecting from a map, rather than using the postal address (city, street, number, etc.). This way, people like me that live outside cities and villages would have the option to hide their house's location. In my case, for example, I live outside a village and the road that leads to my home (and some others in the surroundings) does not have any name, postal address service, or anything. So I only have the option to hide all activities start and end, or simply hide a lot of kilometers from the last known address. Which of course would do the job, but with the first one I would lose the possibility to show people where I start routes in the mountain, and with the second I would lose a lot of Strava segments near my home. I agree that recording an ebike activity as a powered human is incorrect because it distorts the ranking of segments.But the challenges are personal and do not concern others.Why then make ebikes ineligible for challenges?Personally,i use equal parts of a human road bike and an e gravel bike with as much energy expenditure in one case as in the other.Not being able to count my electric outings in my challenges will lead me to forget about it.Or not to declare them as electric.

The activity split tool works fine, but is limitted to work only on Ride and Run. I can see no reason why there is this limitation. It's a hassle to have to convert the activity to a Run, split it, then convert the split activity back into the actual activity type is was.

Hello ! I take the opportunity of this newly opened forum for feature suggestion to remind one which was also discussed in previous Strava forum: Be able to see the PR evolution on common distances (400m, 800m, 1/2 mile, 1km, 1 mile...) based on best portion of each run. This could be displayed like Segments results history graph, but for those distances. And this could also be great if those graphs could be zoom out by selecting best result of days, weeks, months, years.. Thanks in advance for considering this ! Vincent

There are, already, a bunch of posts asking for a category for the contributor's niche sport (I've made two including a sport I don't do, but my family do). Motivation appears to be to give a sport an equal status but, sometimes, more importantly and altruistically, to avoid polluting another category (such as tagging a horseride as MTB). I think an "other" category would be a good place to "park" activities that users don't want to delete but that don't fit into an existing category?

We all know that Strava can write to Apple Health, but you only write a limited data set. I would like you to extend that data set to include heart rate. That way I can see heart rate analysis from the ride within Strava and see my overall heart rate across the whole day in Apple Health. Strava and Apple Health will then be even more complementary to each other. Thanks Bryan
