Please add this robust list of water/paddling sports to Activities. The below grouping of athletes often train together and/or use the same courses, yet only a couple categories are dominating because the times for each sport varies dramatically. Allowing each category to train In the same waters while each getting on the leaderboards in their respective sports, opens the door for a more cohesive and stronger paddling community. Win/win for all! I’d love to see roller skating added as an activity. There is nothing to encapsulate what I do, so I end up picking roller ski or inline. it would be nice to have the program accurately represent the activity I’m engaging in. As Strava usefully records distances per bike (under Profile), this feature could be maximised by enabling segment times to be selected (differentiated) on bike (type) used. I have a road bike have also used a touring bike which means that if I have ridden my road bike along the same segment as the touring bike, all the times for the touring bike are effectively irrelevant (always beaten by my faster road bike). At the moment when viewing the list of attempts per segment it is not even possible to see which bike was used for each attempt. Furthermore, it would be very useful to extend the "per bike" functionality as a Search criterion or column in the My Activities menu (this feature is already possible in Garmin Connect). ... Need: In rural areas (and non rural?), there can be homes with potentially dangerous dogs.  Feature: Allow users to drop a pin on the map with details based on their experience. Maybe classify into a few levels, one being “extreme caution: will chase you past property.” Note size of dog, eg 100lbs. Maybe time of day. hello, i gave the beacon function a try to feel safer when commuting in winter times and i generally liked how it is implemented, but there is one thing which stopped me using it: having to manually send the link every time is just too much fiddling around twice a day. please add an option for a permanent link which others can use to check out on you or an option to automatically send the beacon link when an activity is being started. thanks 🙂 ... If I am looking at someone else's activity on the iOS mobile app, and tap into a Segment they matched with, I only see my own position on the leaderboard. If I have no times on that segment, then I see just the Top 10, which isn't very useful information. This does not match the user's expectation - since I am looking at my friend's activity, I should be able to see their rank on the leaderboard, along with my own to see our relative positions on the leaderboard. This feature would help me know how to encourage my friend (eg, they were in the top 1% of people on the segment, I could shout that out; if they were #11, I'd tell them to work harder next time..) Note that this information is available on Desktop Web - on a friend's activity, I can see their position on a segment's leaderboard, and compare it to my own. ... View more

It's often that a person might start their location in a new location after pausing their ride. They might be catching a train or bus or ferry. Noone wants to create a new ride for where they get off these vehicles.  My suggestion is to have Strava automatically change lines that connect points that stop and start a certain amount (1km?) Away from each other as a dotted line to differentiate between transitioning points and actual riding.  ... View more

There should be no 'Watts' for anyone who hasn't actually used a powermeter in cycling.  It is very confusing to have an estimate for power on the activity page but also on individual segments for rides that were completed without a powermeter. The estimates are just wrong as there are so many influences that you cannot calculate for, biggest being head- or tailwind and whether it was a group ride with potentially lots of drafting. I'm not only saying this because I'm comparing myself to other riders for activities or on segments but also comparing my own pre-powermeter rides to the ones with the powermeter. Inverse of "Add Friends to Activity": Allow users to *request* to re-post an activity that they completed with a friend. This would be for occasions when a user forgets to record their activity, but a friend did. User would go to a friend's activity and click a new button: "Request to Join Activity" EXAMPLE: I'm often doing a group run where I don't bring my GPS watch. However, my friends who did record usually forget to add me via "Add Friends to Activity" when they post to Strava. If I could "re-post" or "join the activity" that a friend had posted, they would get a notification to add me and I would get more accurate records of these activities. NOTES: Not all stats would be transferred from your friend's activity to the one posted on your page... I imagine only the map, duration/pace, splits would. Performance on a segment wouldn't transfer, and personal stats like heartbeat, etc. wouldn't transfer. The friend could also choose to reject the request (e.g., maybe you didn't actually run the whole activity at the same pace as your friend). ... View more

As a rider of a single speed bike (not a fixie but with a free wheel hub), I'd like to see that as a separate bike type. I go riding with friends on their standard geared road bikes bikes and keep up with them for the most part. I would think that my ride effort deserves to be assessed and separated out from those with gears to make their ride less strenuous.  ... View more
