Add backpacking category

Let users categorize activities as “backpacking”. Carrying a heavier bag with overnight gear on multi-day outings leads to a slow pace but high exertion level. Distinguishing these from hikes would be great

Saved route filter needs higher mileage choices

The website lets us filter saved routes by distances up to 50 miles. I rarely ride less than 50 miles. I have many routes of 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100+ miles. The mileage filter needs to not stop at 50. I’d say go up to 150.The cell phone app has no saved route filter at all. Add a distance filter for saved routes on the phone app. And of course make it go up to at least 150 miles in increments of 10 miles.

Cold Plunge, Sauna, Steam Bath

I’d love to see cold plunge, sauna and steam bath as three recovery event type. Being able to record duration, temperature, and heart rate would be awesome. Thank you.

Improvements to Route planning

It would be very useful to be able to place routes into folders. I have quite a few routes set up, both for riding around my home range and for trips I have planned. It would be great to organize them into related folders or groups.  When planning a route,  the blue dots where pictures have been taken are awkward to work around. Sometimes they expand on their own and won’t go away, obscuring a feature you’d like to see. Other times you can’t get them to expand even when you do want to see them, because placing the cursor over them generates the “place waypoint/end route here” prompt. Ideally they would remain closed as the default, but would be accessible any time you placed the cursor over them. It would be far easier to simply move the cursor to a nearby spot if you truly wanted to place a waypoint or terminate the route than it is to work with things as they are now.

Expand Group Challenges

For the last 3 years I’ve created a challenge for my friend group (both individual and group). One year it was to run 1000 miles (individual challenge), another year was to complete 1000 hours of activity (individual challenge), and this last year was to run/walk/bike/board/etc the circumference of the globe (group challenge). Goals are limited to time and distance. I would love to have more options to create those challenges. For example, the most PRs in a year, the most different activities participated in a year, the longest streaks in a year, etc.

Forgot to pause? Allow merging of time range to a single point.

Sometimes we forget to pause, and sometime auto-pause just doesn’t work (i.e. when you are in a building). You are in the middle of a large ride or run, and now there is an ugly spot on your heatmap. What do you do?Similar to how we have the option to crop and split, I suggest adding a new feature to the same interface which allows merging movements between two timestamps to a single point - on condition that the before-and-after GPS points are not far apart.Example scenario:I cycle from A to C, and enroute I enter a building B, and forget to pause Strava. This causes an ugly clutter on the Strava Map for the entirety of my stay in that building.Lets say I left A at 1pm, visited the building from 1:45pm to 2pm, and then reached C at 3pm. I would like to merge/consolidate all the gitters/moves on the map from 1:45pm to 2pm to a single point - effectively making it look like I had 'paused' Strava from 1:45pm to 2pm.

Hide Activities from a specific Follower or Followers

Picture the scene. Its a nice day, the sun is out, the sky is blue…. so you go for a run, ride, swim etc…  You are having such a great time, smashing PR’s you get distracted and end up being out much longer than expected, or hit a technical issue….  unfortunately, your colleague/boss  follows you, but you did this activity in work time, maybe when working from home? Or maybe you do GPS art and something was not suitable for your colleague/boss etc to see. I want to be able to hide an activity from a specific follower or followers. I cant see how to do this, so assume it is not possible yet. Its a really useful feature.

Merge multiple day activity

Sometimes we do a more than one day activity, like Camino de Santiago or the Deo Kato long run from Cape Town to London or similar.. It would be nice that a more then one day activity could be visualized as a “particular activity” always on top as soon as we decide to finish it, that merge, day by day, all the activity uploaded in a sort of single thread.Also would be perfect to include a single map with the continuous trace for all the activity. This would be only a “better view” but the statistic are always kept by the single activity uploaded. I also suggest to keep the possibility to view all the single activity expanding the principal aggregated view.Efrem

Increase lookback period for heatmap

My apologies if this has been covered extensively, but it’s hard to search for the exact phrasing. It seems that with the major updates several months ago the heatmaps now only use data from a much shorter period of time (13 months?). It seems that the heatmap used to include data from a longer time period. I know others have proposed being able to alter the opacity for specific time periods. I specifically would find it very useful to be able to include an “all time” look back, or period of at least 10 years. I realize that for urban users the heat map can get quite crowded, but with recent updates the heatmap has become dramatically less useful in rural areas. There just isn’t enough data from a single year. It’s the only thing I pay for strava for and it’s no longer terribly useful.While we’re at it - layering multiple activities on the heatmap would be useful. It’s nice to be able to differentiate, but it would also be helpful sometimes to layer two different activity types at once

Display personal heatmap for multiple activity types in route planner

In the global heatmap view it is currently possible to select some combinations such as “All Sports” or “All Foot Sports”.  In the route planner the heatmap (personal and global) is only displayed for the type of activity being created e.g. “Run” or “Trail Run”.  Can we please have a similar menu added to the route planner?  It’s helpful to be able to get a good view of all the places you have been before while plotting a new route.

[FEATURE REQUEST] Arbitrary Goal Duration

Hi there - would he handy to be able to set arbitrary goals in terms of duration. At the moment we can set weekly, monthly and annual goals which are essentially fixed date durations. I’d like to be able to set arbitrary or custom dates for goals, for example January 1 to December 1, or August 5th to November 3rd. Many thanks!

Make Custom Challenges visible on website!

Custom challenges are quite cumbersome currently.  It is a PAID MEMBERSHIP only feature, yet it’s very challenging and frustrating to use since you can only find them by digging down several levels manually (too many clicks required!) from the HOME → GROUPS → ACTIVE tab and there is no way to share or post about the leaderboards within CLUBS or websites.If there was a way to actually VIEW and SHARE the ACTIVE custom challenges, then as a CLUB leader / influencer, I could better promote and refer many, many more athletes to STRAVA PREMIUM PAID MEMBERSHIPS so this would seem like a big no-brainer for STRAVA to invest some energy into developing further!SHARE LINK - Make the leaderboards share-able via a link to encourage non-premium members to become premium members!  Let us post about challenges within club POSTS sections and ideally other social media platforms more easily too!   EMBED - make the leaderboards able to be embedded in websites like club boards, etc.   WEBSITE - at the ver

Integrate Songs with Activities

Hi Strava team, The ability to attach songs to activities would be a fantastic feature, similiarly to how you can attach songs to Instagram stories/posts. I think this has been suggested before but it would be a great feature to personalize activities and enhance user engagement, as has been shown by its integration in other social media platforms. Music is an integral part of exercising to me and the ability to express that in my Strava activities would be amazing. As a free user, if a feature like this were added to premium, it would be a no-brainer for me to upgrade, and I am sure many others feel the same.  Thanks for considering!

Has There Been Any Update on the Removal of Links/URLS for Clubs and Activities?

To my knowledge it has been at least 2 months since this problem was first identified, and it’s definitely still a problem. I want to know if anyone has gotten any updates concerning this, or if that vague statement from months ago is all that we have on this still very relevant issue. If nothing else, I want to bring this back into the limelight so that Strava knows this is a still an issue people very much care about. Thank you for your time!

Restore all Strava data to a previous date

Hi,I am just updating my set-up between a Garmin Edge and Wahoo Elemnt.  I use a Wahoo head unit to record my activities (and sync it to strava) and use my garmin watch to broadcast my heart rate (I did not upload any garmin data to strava). Because I am having a problem with my Wahoo, I just allowed my Garmin to upload to Strava so I can use an old Garmin computer to record activities.  I thought this would only upload all new rides from today onwards.  Unfortunately, it is has doubled all my activities for more than a year (closer to two years).Is there a way of turning the time back on my Strava activities e.g. to yesterday to save me having to manually go and delete hundreds of duplicate activities?Thank you very much!Cameron

Elliptical Workout Sub-Category

Not sure if the option to tag elliptical activities as a workout existed in the past and was removed or if I’m mis-remembering, but either way would appreciate the option to tag these as workouts in the future for cross training purposes! Currently only have the option to tag elliptical activities as commute, but I find it makes things easier to organize at a glance when using the training log, and workout activities are striped.

Differentiating MTB from gravel with regards to leaderboards

Differentiating MTB from gravel with regards to leaderboards. Just like you have done with e-MTB versus regular MTB. As I see it the split between MTB and gravel bikes can be done in 2 ways (or maybe more?):1. Make a "clean" split as it has been done with e-MTB and regular MTB so a segment either relates to the one or the other.2. Make the leaderboard for a given segment differentiated as it is with men and women today. Then an "overall" Leaderboard can be maintained and a MTB and a gravel leaderboard can be created as highlighting the difference between the two types of bikes.I really hope you will try to work on this in future releases.

Add horse riding as an acitivity for the Strava-equestrian

Hi! I love Strava so much! I track ever activity with the app (gym, hiking, walks, etc.).But as an equestrian it would be so nice if Strava would make it possible to add “horse riding” as an activity as I can only track my horse-riding trainings with my apple watch, which later saves it in the Strava App as “training”.Since I really value the statistics of my activities, it would be great to have also an overview of my statistics when riding horses. Strava has soooo many different sports integrated as activities. It would be nice for all active horse people to add horse riding❤️
