Strava Features Chat

I was looking for a hill segment that I wanted to try for the first time, and when I found it discovered that I was already recorded in Strava as having done it.  I looked at the route that I had supposedly done (on 22/05/2022) and it's one that I have never completed.  It does start and end a couple of miles from where I live, and there are some parts that I have done as recently as yesterday(!), but there are others which I don't know at all.  It feels very odd. Has this happened to anyone else?

Feature: Define the default equipment depending on the activity type.For instance: I use different running shoes when running on the treadmill/virtual run than when running outdoors.Also it would be great to have another rule to do the same based on distance of the activity     

Hi, is there a possibility to switch all stored routes from private to public? Does anyone now how to do. To edit a route and switch while store the changes is well known, but not possible for more than 250 routes.

But lately a missing hiker have been missing in my nearby area.And few questions remain about what could have been done, with the use of the community.Discussions and community process over rescue are not easy, and quite often spread over many facebook group/forum and apps. And when I believe it is important to leave the professional do the job.Sometimes after few days, lack of budget for the rescue, and or other reasons.The search stop. What remain most of the time is to find the body of the missing person, to help the family. My question for Strava:Is there any way that the search of a area can be done with multiple user, using a heat map to know the covered ground of specific hickers or the community, get access to photo and or any data who could help save lifes? Latest informations seems to have people sharing tracks on Gaia, but nothing easy or simple like t

A little while ago Strava added the classification of "CR" for bike leaderboards (and presumably for other Activity types) in addition to KOM and QOM.  So we have CR for the fastest ever performance, KOM for fastest male and QOM for fastest female.  When I am displaced from a leaderboard I usually get a message of the form "...You just lost your KOM on Strava Segment by x seconds".  Yesterday's message was "...You just lost your CR on Strava Segment by 2 seconds" and when I look at the Segment it shows another person has the CR and I still have the KOM (2 seconds slower) - this is fine and would simply mean the other person hasn't declared themselves to be male.  However, if I filter the leaderboard to show men only it shows the other person first and I am second.How can someone be top of the "men only" leaderboard but an inferior performance (mine) has the KOM ?Did I misunderstand something or do I need to raise a ticket with the support team ?

I have athletes showing up in my feed that I did not ask to follow and I do not know. This started about 3 days ago. I did not make any changes to my settings and am unfollowing each one as I see them, but is this a bug? Was there an update I missed?

I'm participating in a group challenge setup through my company, but have a query regarding what constitutes the challenge being complete, e.g.Rowing target :1500km, challenge end date 12 SeptIn the above scenario, if the distance target is hit before the end date, does that 'close' the challenge from further user input, or will the challenge still accept entries until the challenge end date?If this is covered in a post somewhere, I apologise for the repeat question, but I've not been able to find anything definitive Thanks Tom

How do I change this to share my routes in Miles only?

*First, the following screenshots are in German, hope this won't be a big issue.*When I recevie Kudos or a close friend (marked as favorit) uploads a new activity I am notified by a push nofification on my mobile.When I tap on this message I am directed to the corresponding activity and I can check my Kudos or I can leave Kudos and/or comments on my friends activity. So far so good.But why does the bell (upper right) and the home icon (lower left) still show this number?Why do I have to navigate to the notification list and back again to get rid of the number even though I've already been taken to the activity in question via the push notification?Am I missing something or could a review of this workflow be possible?CheersUli

after the update from august 9th the button '3 more suggestions' is removed from the routes creator on the mobile app.why did strava removed this?Now you only get 3 options to choose out of.please bring back this button or give the user more options/routes to choose of.

It's all in the title. I am specific but in general available activity types and flags should be reviewed. I am sure that it's an easy update 😉 😉

When I climb at the gym, strava records elevation gain up, and down, so I always leave with zero 0ft. Is there a setting I need to change to only record what I climbed up, and not what I roped or jumped down?

Currently an activity is shown as a uniform orange line on a map. I think it could be cool/useful to color this line on the map with a color that encodes the pace at which someone moved at each point of the activity. Eg blue = slower, orange = fasterthis would basically integrate the “pace analysis” of an activity into the map plot, and could also show some interesting correlations, like whether or not any faster/slower splits might be due to certain types of terrain.This idea could be extended into the global heat map, besides popularity it might be interesting to show relative pace differences of activities over all segments. This could be a good indicator of wether or not it’s a good place to run when building a route. If most people slows down over a certain stretch of road, odds are the terrain isn’t great there.

I think it would be really cool to see my map with a feature to "turn on all runs" and see just how much of my area I have covered. It would encourage me to try new roads and get my town to "100% completion". Strava could even have challenges of "color in this town" or "team red vs team blue" to see who can color more in a day or a week.

I achieved a gran fondo cycling on https://www.strava.com/activities/7628874558 but I do not appear to be recognised for it as completed this month with the GF badge..Is it because of privacy restrictions? Or? I can understand partner challenges not working for privacy restrictions, but for standard strava ones seems odd... 

I would like to see the features of the heatmap get linked to activities so I can see when I rode specific roads (re: all the rides where I was on that particular road).  It would give me a different way to review the segments on particular roads.  In addition, just like you can see google street view images over time (you can select which date of a street view image you want to see), I would like to see Strava add a play button that would show you the growth of your heatmap over time.

I would be very nice to have the ability to let Strava make a route from A to B instead of a round up route with start and finish as the same point... Sometimes I want a route from where I am in the field or road to a specific place.

There is bike rider who posts on my segments as 75+ ages. In fact he is under 19 and might be under 16 years. I asked him to correct his age but he replied that it messes up his heart rate info. Can i have him flagged or somehow get him into the right age group and heart rate?

For a few months I was running a friendly cooperative group challenge with colleagues. I set up a club for my workplace and invited people that wanted to join. The group challenges were a great way to get people involved, people were keen to know just how far as a team we could go in any given month. It was a great motivator for people to be healthyUnfortunately, I had to stop a few months later, as non-premium members only get to join 3 group challenges, you have to be a premium member to join more. This is the most artificial barrier I have witness in freemium apps. Maybe I'm missing something but its not like cash prizes can be won in group challenges, its just a virtual leaderboard that can be aggregated in different ways. Its really disappointing, and I would like to see better support for creating Stava groups for workplaces. 

When trying to modify a route (enlarge it, drag the route to a larger or smaller area,..), the route also changes at points where I did not apply a modification. Are you able to 'freeze' a certain part of a route and only change where you want to change? Thx, Bruno
