Would it be possible to create a protection against abusive activity flagging? Some people do not hesitate to flag and report the legit activities of others when their KOM is beaten. To prevent this form of cheating, I propose several measures. It should not be possible for a user to report an activity if: - For cycling activities, if the activity was recorded with a GPS unit (like a Garmin or Wahoo for example, which are more reliable than recording via the Strava app) AND sensors such as: a power meter, cadence and heart rate, since these sensors can guarantee the authenticity of the activity - If these activities have been performed by professional athletes on Strava - It should not be possible for a user to report the same activity more than once Thank you in advance. ... I think Strava should implement some kind of algorithm to detect whether a KOM is legit or not... Most of KOMs where I live (São Paulo - Brazil) are fake... A lot of people use bikes to conquer KOMs in the running category, and some of them even use cars. It's absolutely ridiculous... A huge amount of running KOMs of people running on about 1:00 pace... Sorry mate, but if you can do that you should be on the Olympics. Strava should implement something to detect and to validate the KOMs... It's a very nice way to compete, but when competition is not fair in a huge amount of the KOMs (talking about running in São Paulo - Brazil), it becomes very frustrating and useless.  ... View more

I noticed that on a long climb (more than 45minutes) i can see a great number of usefulness segments each one 1 or two minutes longs while the full climb is may times hidden, I don't know the criteria strava uses do decide by default which segmnets to hide but I would like to have an app setting or filter to hide by default the ranking of segments shorter than a determinate time or to show all the segments longer.   ... If you get a time EQUAL to your personal best on a segment. Why not simply say this is ALSO your personal best, and show a gold PB medal? Now imagine you have a KOM on a certain segment. If you get this exact same time again, it will only show as a silver PB medal, rather than a gold KOM crown. Why not simply say this is EQUAL to the KOM, and show a gold KOM crown again? Now imagine you ride 1 second slower on this same KOM segment. This will be the 2nd best time ever. But since you already have the KOM, it will only show as a mere silver medal. As segment leaderboards get ultra-competitive with Pros, KOM-hunting, and general Strava popularity, the public leaderboards begin to lack significance for friendly competition amongst friends & club members. The thrill of earning that KOM or LL status (and the motivation to improve when you get that dreaded email saying the segment has been nabbed) feels almost more relevant to compete against the groups of people you know. Adding the crown or wreath  icons to the Following or Club subscriber that holds the title and either a notification or email would be a huge user experience boost for those that rarely (or likely never) see a segment achievement in their activities. ... We frequently see unintentional "cheating" on segment leaderboards by users who leave Strava recording running while driving home after an activity. While it's impossible to automatically flag all activities recorded using motor vehicles, it should be practical to catch those who travel some distance on freeways where bikes and pedestrians aren't allowed. Check OpenStreetMap for feature type motorway. These are always controlled access roads, known as freeways in the USA. There are a lot of other good ideas in this forum for automatic flagging based on unrealistic speeds or lack of supplementary sensor data, but this idea is specifically about detecting travel on freeways which can't possibly represent a real sport activity. ... On Garmin connect when I ride my e-bike I can see how much power it have drawn from the battery, and I also have power meters on all my bikes. would it be possible to create a metric for e-bike users to show how much power they put in vs how much power is used from the battery? also could ebike users on strava be categorised by their bike, for example I have a Mahle EX35 hub drive road bike that is quite light and not very powerful in comparison, I can't go up hills as fast as a chinese Bafang 500W mid drive with almost 3 times the torque output. on the ebike leaderboard segments it would make a lot more sense if it showed which bike each rider was using   ... Hi Strava, you have just introduced a partnership with Fi collar to record dog activities, but why not review the idea of introducing CaniSports activities which we have been asking for. We the CaniSports community have been asking for you to add a dog assisted category, so that our growing community can compare our efforts with other like minded dog enthusiasts.  please consider adding CaniCross, CaniBike and CaniScoot to the activities.
