Welcome to the Community Hub and thanks for stopping by! For those of us in the northern hemisphere (above the equator), September marks the end of Summer and the beginning of Fall. For our southern hemisphere members, they kick off the beginning of Spring. This year, the September equinox - where days and nights are said to be equal in length for everyone across the globe - will fall on Sept. 23, 2023.  Also in September, cities across the globe will celebrate World Car-Free Day, encouraging motorists to give up their cars for a day. Highlighting the numerous benefits of going car free, this year over 2,000 cities in 46 countries will participate in World Car-Free Day on Friday, Sept. 22! Tiny heart rate panel

I'm new to Strava and I'm trying to view my heart rate data for a workout on the website (not on mobile, my phone is no good for that). So far I can only find this one tiny panel, with no hashmarks or zones, no way to expand it vertically (although there is horizontal zoom), no cumulative stress evaluation, basically nothing. Is there somewhere else in the web app where I can see the same heart rate data with more detail and context? Thanks for any suggestions!

Club distances

hello, i am running a club and have just discovered that the leaders this week have logged in distances that are too long to be true (for example, 50km in 6000 steps). Strangely the activities were not flagged automatically. How do I resolve this issue?

Hi I'm Adam. I have been a Strava user forever but only recently became a paying member. I am happy to join the community for my first chat. I am turning 72 years old on Saturday and have been actively cycling for the last 16 years. I am overweight and not very good at cycling and really hate going uphill! I have participated in many road races - and question my sanity every time I do - but always come back for more. This is my first time talking to anyone about my cycling on this forum.

Re: Introduction

I have a query. I have been using Zwift to get fit for mots of this year and I must say Strava does an excellent job of keeping tabs on my activity. However on Saturday I did a road route recorded on my Garmin bike computer. It is uploaded on Strava but does not appear in my activities calendar. Can someone tell me why that is? I would appreciate it as the route was quite strenuous and I wouldn't like the effort to go to waste?

Missing a PR

Hello guys, I just broke my 5 kilometre record but STRAVA doesn't recognize it, yet it recognizes 1 mile, 2 miles and 1km... I don't understand why, there is no private/hidden zone on the course and I tried to refresh the data but without success... Can someone help me on this? Hello everybody!I would like to know if it's possible to get the general past week clasification in the clubs. I just want to know the km and hours totally per week/club.Or in case that it wasn't possible, is there any way to transfer the datas to another app for getting the clasification?Thank you so much

Joining the community

Hello All,I am new on Strava and, of course, also new in the community.About myself: I'm belgian, living in Belgium and today I'm mainly biking (VTTAE) in the summer and skiing (one or two weeks per saeson) in winter.I turned 63 not long ago and, even if I did a lot of sports earlier, I consider that it is not important any more to do high level performance! 😉 😉SO, I'm just going out when the weather is nice and have fun with a friend or two riding through our marvelous Ardennes.I came to Strava because TomTom is ending its application and I want to keep following my activities.Not that I'm such an athlete, but it's always good to see the eventual progress (or not) through the season.I hope I will find here what I'm looking for and that this application will last for a long time.If I may, I already have a question: I tried to imort my files from TomTom, but only 15 have been taken... I tried to import several time 15, but it didn't work...Does anybody know how to import

Tuesday Chat with Team Strava-2023 FIFA Women's World Cup

Hello Everyone - Scout and Jane here; welcome to Tuesday Chat with Team Strava! We’re excited to chat about the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. This month-long event will begin on July 20 and will be jointly hosted by Australia & New Zealand.While putting this post together we noticed something interesting - the highest ranked women’s teams are in countries where the men’s teams don’t do well! Take a look below and you'll see what we mean.... The United States Women’s Team is ranked #1 in the world (and is the defending World Cup champions), while the men’s team generally isn’t in the top 10 (currently 11th, average 20th). The Swedish women’s team is currently ranked #3 in the world, while the  men are 23rd (with average ranking of 22nd). World Athletics Championships - Budapest 2023

This weekend marks the start of the 19th edition of the World Athletics Championships. Also known as the World Track and Field Championships, this event showcases some of the best athletes in the world.  Held every 2 years at different venues around the world; this year’s event will take place in Budapest, Hungary at the newly built National Athletics Center. Over 2000 athletes from over 200 countries will be competing in the 49 events over 9 days (August 19-27). With a number of world records being broken this year, we’re sure to see a number of exciting events in Budapest. Here are a few of the athletes to check out: Ryan CrouserStanding 6 feet 7 inches and weighing 320 pounds (145kg) Ryan Crouser from the United States is a 2 time Olympic gold medallist and reigning world champion. download request - not receiving email

requested my data download through my profile, which I can retrieve once a week, and when you press the button, I normally receive an email to download within 30 minutes.I requested my data last week, but have received NO email. I download the data every week, and use it to track my followers.I have waited a week and requested the data again last night, and again no email has been received to download my data.I have emailed Strava twice about this, and not received a response. this happened a couple of months ago, and strava support emailed me the link.please can someone help.

Taking photos while biking is dangerous

Anyone think taking photos while biking with your phone is dangerous? I’m a camera guru and passionate about most forms of biking. I love taking cool photos and posting them to my Strava activity log. But I find phone cameras and other sports cameras on the market to be either dangerous, not cool, or uncomfortable. Anyone have input on this topic?

Etiquette of Flagging

I’m wondering if there is an etiquette surrounding the Flagging of rides.I’ve had to flag a heap of rides that took my prized KOM, over the past few months, which were clearly done when the bike was put in a car after an MTB ride with Strava still recording.last night there was another ride that looked legitimate till I saw there was no Power or Heart rate data on the last few segments…. (Road bike put in the car)I put a message on his ride to congratulate him on the ride and also ask him to crop out the bit in the car (that took my KOM)to my surprise, he came back very quickly and said he was trying to work out how to do this and finally sorted it…. KOM restored 🙌Is this the way I should be dealing with this? As opposed to just flagging the rides??

Flagging a ride that is set to "Private"?

Earlier this year, I won the KOM on a segment that I've been working really hard at for over 4 years. I am constantly having to flag rides where the other athletes are using the MTB trails, up the road and putting their bike in the car, forgetting to turn Strava off, then diving home (Taking every KOM along the way).I now have a guy who has just uploaded a historical ride from 2015! where it looks like he has recorded a run but set the app to a bike ride, then driven quite a long way home, taking lots of course records. But! his account is set to "Private", and I cannot look at it on the PC to flag it. The strange thing is I can see it on my phone, but, I can't Flag it from there. What do I do now?

Tuesday Chat with Team Strava: Welcome to Crossfit

With the Crossfit Games gearing up this week, what's a better time to dive into the sport than now? Crossfit is a strength and conditioning workout that is made up of functional movement performed at a high intensity level. Many workouts feature variations of squats, push-ups, and weight lifting that last for predetermined amounts of time to help build muscles. CrossFit Journal states that the workouts are so effective because of their emphasis on the elements of load, distance and speed, which help participants develop high levels of power.  Starting in the late 90s, Greg Glassman is credited with founding the sport. At the time, he was hired to train the local police department. Using his background of gymnastics and bodyweight exercises, Glassman used high intensity workouts that utilized a number of disciplines so officers were generally prepared, rather than excelling solely in one area.  Before you know it, Glassman took this idea and ran with it. Tuesday Chat with Team Strava: Getting the Most out of your Polar Device on Strava

Hello and welcome back to Tuesday Chat with Team Strava.  Strava integrates with a wide range of devices and platforms.  Today we're going to talk about the Polar/Strava integration, explain how it works, and share the answers to some commonly asked questions.   Polar makes a number of GPS watches and cycling computers, and you can also record activities with the Polar Flow App which is available on Android and iOS. To sync your Polar recorded activities to Strava, you’ll need to do a one time set up to connect your accounts: To Connect Polar Flow to Strava: Open Polar Flow on your mobile device. Click the three lines aka the hamburger button to open the menu.     Scroll down and click on General Settings.     Click on the big red Connect button.     Under Connected Services, find Strava, and click on Connect.     A confirmation box will appear, it’s a little long so be sure to scroll down and click Okay. Auto hide certain activities - new feature request

I just got a walking treadmill and I use strava on my Apple watch to track my activities, choosing Indoor Run. I like it because I feel it's more accurate than the regular watch exercise app native to the watch. However, I don't need my followers seeing every time I walk on my treadmill for an hour, sometimes twice a day. Right now I have to go in and manually change the setting to Show: Only Me. It would be nice to we could set certain activities to default to Only Me. I think others that track their daily walking commute would probably like the same functionality.
