Welcome back to another edition of our series called Tuesday Chat with Team Strava!   This week, we wanted to introduce you to Sydney Gidabuday, an amazing Strava colleague and an American distance runner who runs for the professional running team Roots Running Project. Sydney competes in events ranging from 3000m to the half-marathon, so we asked him some questions about his professional sport journey so far, his passion for running, and how he incorporates Strava into his daily routines.        Q:  Hello Sydney! Hi all!  I have been setting goals and tracking against them for some time.  I just started MTB.  I did a ride last and this week and the distance and elevation (my two goals) did not show these rides.  I went back and see that when you set a goal you need to choose - Ride, MTB, etc.  There is a feature to select All Sports which would have included both.  The Question is: now that I have a weekly goal that we originally set to Ride, how to I change that to add other activities such as MTB?  Thanks!

I hope somebody sees this and can help me. I am a college student, and was using the app to help track my half-marathon progress. Unfortunately, I became injured early when I had the free trial and am now not able to use this app after healing from several surgeries. I forgot about my free trial and was charged a hefty amount today, a price that I can not afford with my medical bills, grocery, and school tuition. I canceled my subscription immediately, but am hoping for a refund. I emailed and messaged, but am hoping I can get a soon reply before it gets too late. PLEASE HELP! Thank you so so so much.

Hi folks;I'm doing route planning for a charity gran fondo in Ontario Canada.  We're wondering about the idea of including a Strava segment on two of the routes.  We would do prizing for the KOM, QOM and perhaps fastest seniors participating in our event.I have a paid subscription to Strava - so I use segments a bit and have a few favourited for use on my wahoo, etc., but my question is - would ALL Strava users receive times on the identified segments on that day or ONLY the paid subscribers?Would I see segment times for free strava members even if they cannot see themselves?Idea would be that we would visit the segment pages on the website after the event and see who had the fastest time - award a prize - include this in wrap up ceremonies.Thanks!

I was wondering if anyone knows how Strava calculates 'watts' for an e-bike ride?Technically, the e-bike knows how much assist it is adding, but I do not know if it exports that data, or if Strava can access the data.My typical analog bike ride is about 150watts average, and the same trail (albeit 30% shorter time) is about 200 watts when on the e-bike. So, yes, I can assume I am getting a 50 watt booster from the e-bike over the ride. Was just wondering how Strava handles this.

Hey tennis fans! The first of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments has begun. The 112th edition of the Australian Open will be held from January 14-28 at Melbourne Park. Along with the other three, the French Open (May/June), Wimbledon (June/July), and the US Open (Aug/Sept), these tournaments showcase the best players in the world.  There are a number of players to keep your eyes on at the Australian Open. You can catch defending men’s singles champion Novak Djokovic from Serbia going up against Croatia's Dino Prizmic on the first day. Djokovic is going for a record extending 25th Grand Slam singles title. On the women's side, you can  catch defending women's singles champ Aryna Sabalenka take on Germany’s Ella Seidel.   Also check out Japan’s Naomi Osaka who won the open in 2019 and 2021; she is back on the court after welcoming her daughter in July. Poland’s Iga Świątek is coming in as the #1 seed; the four-time major champ is seeking her first Australian Open.

For some reason, over the last couple of days I have had to log into this Community Hub pretty much every time I have opened the page.  I am using the same bookmark as I have since I started.  In the past, I remained logged in, but something has changed in the last couple of days.  Anyone know if that was a change to this page?  

As we wrap up 2023, we would like to thank all our members for their input here on the Community Hub and share some of our highlights from the year. Over the past 12 months, we have welcomed many new members and we’ve enjoyed reading your stories, ideas, and discussions. There were a number of inspiring and inspirational stories that our members shared this year. Take a look and give some kudos to @JasonGirouard who ran EVERY block in Manhattan, @Ken shared his weight loss journey with us and @1Danimal  shared how Strava Beacon saved him after a bike crash. We also saw a number of ideas that our teams were able to deliver this year including Direct Messaging, Assign Default Gear by Activity type and integrating with NIKE. Do you love year end recaps?  I sure do, so I was excited to read the Strava Year in Sport Trend Report We surveyed 6990 active people from around the world, and combined that with 2023 activity data from Strava, to come up with insights about the trends shaping the world of exercise.     Here's a few of the highlights I found particularly interesting: running was the most uploaded sport type on Strava, followed by cycling and walking 76% of Strava Athletes with pets say their pet helps get them exercising when they otherwise wouldn't women in the United States are 70% more likely than men to say that lack of a safe space to exercise is a barrier to working out.  Globally, only 9% of women cite this. gravel riding is growing!  In 2023 the share of Athletes uploading gravel rides increased by 55% Check out the full report here and let us know what you think.  What surprised you the most and how do you see some of these trends changing as we
