Sometimes when I ride my bike and have a stop, the Auto-Stop features of my Garmin and Wahoo devices don't work, especially when I have to take the computer with me inside. In the end flawed distance and height recordings and up in the gps track of the activity.   Here's an example: Currently Stava only allows to shorten the activity on start and end or to split the activity. I'm start to being a strava suscriber thinking about that this was integrated... but it doesn't so hope this can be a new feature soon... Create challenges by the club, not by the person. Other things that would be nice: allow to join only members of the club and allow to update a photo for better experience (like strava club challenge do and some few verify clubs too). Please add the function to flag activities from the mobile app.  It is inconvenient that it is only available from the web version of Strava.  It's a simple feature, so not sure why it hasn't been added to the app previously.  It was requested repeatedly through the previous feedback forum. ... On the mobile app, you can look at another person's profile, and star the routes that they have created that they have made public. However, you cannot do this on desktop. It would be really useful to be able to do the following on the desktop/browser version of Strava: - go to somebody's profile - look at their routes - star/save/duplicate the ones which they have made public The exact same functionality already exists in the app. ... Does anyone else find it annoying to see one random activity from a year ago in your feed? This should be optional. Some people might get motivated by seeing what they did on this day last year, but I find it distracting when reviewing my activity log. Some of the are short commutes, which I definitely don’t need to reminisce about. If people want this, they could turn it on, but since it has been added to my activity feed it’s diminished my experience of the activity feed.  ... View more

I ride similar segments to my friends.... we compete, we mock each other etc etc, all in all - its great fun... Recently i did a ride and got 60+ PR's. I realized there was a feature missing (for me, and so maybe for others) I wanted to be able to see where i stand against a few of my friends on the segments i just rode. There are a lot of segments on a 2-3 hour ride. I know i can open each segment, select who i follow, to see where i am, but to do that 70 times! It's a killer. Then, when asked which segment i beat them, i don't want to go through them all again. Even when its not a high number, say 4 medals, I realized it a comparison i do a lot and its a lot of clicking to get the result. I would like to be able to select a "who i am following comparison" and then see in one table all the segments i just rode and where i am against the people I follow who have ridden the same segment.  I imagine the table looks like this: Segment Name 1st place 2nd place 3rd place 4th place etc etc                         Maybe it already exists, and I can't find it? ... Having to constantly update weight in Strava seems a bit counter-intuitive when there are integrations to sync activities to Health/Fitness apps, why can't our weight be synced in? I always forget to change it, and when I remember, I might be a couple kilos outdated so my stats are unreliable, and even getting to the page to update it is annoying to get to. ... View more

It would be really useful to enable the ability for your users to edit an activity they have completed.  Stats that could be added would include time, distance, elevation gain, heart rate, calories etc. Sometimes we forget to start an activity but when we remember to add it we have to let it run for the whole duration so it records the time spent on that activity. For example today I did pilates, I forgot to start the activity, so I added it later but I only let it run for 6 seconds rather than the 45 mins thinking I could stop the activity, have it uploaded to my time line and simply edit the duration to 45 min. Sadly this does not seem possible. I'm sure other users would like to be able to amend their session so it can be adjusted to reflect time, distance and duration for other activities. I think the default Strava maps should have indications of the direction of travel. This is important for overlapping/intersecting routes, and especially loops. It would be particularly helpful for shared routes, where you may have no idea which way to go. But also good when looking at others maps (e.g. did they go up or down that section of the hill?). Many other mapping solutions have this inbuilt and it can be unobtrusive. For example, AllTrails does this well. See image, you can clearly tell that the trail goes north, not south because of the little chevrons/arrows.   Perhaps this could be optional, but I don't see why anyone would want to hide the direction of travel if they are sharing their map already. While you're at it, adding mile/km markers (optional setting) would be very helpful, paricularly on Route maps when you are trying to plan out when to refuel, etc. ... View more

Allow users to set in their profile "Mute By Default". This is a privacy setting, users may not wish to "flood" their friends or groups feeds with activities, even if they wish to record these activities for their own record. Others have pointed out that Strava route finder sometimes uses very unsafe roads.  Frequently the excuse for this is that Strava uses OpenStreetMap as the underlying map.  But that doesn't cover the issue of what is safe or otherwise feels safe.  OpenStreeMap doesn't record how cyclist feel about particular legal routes and doesn't record actual cases of incidents. The issue of unsafe roads has been a huge problem since cycling route finders began.  Strava's heatmap based is a really powerful tool for finding fun rides. However mapping the roads that cyclists frequently use only get's half the picture. Feature request: Let cyclists mark sections of roads a "no-go" or "do not use". If this was immediately part of the Routes UI it could either record for just that one route or all future routes for the user. While it would be really useful for just that user, it would also provide information to Strava so that Strava could build up an inverse heatmap of undesirable roads to overlay with the heatmap of popular roads. Eg: if I have a ride which contained a really hair raising section of busy and dangerous road, the first thing I do when I get home is to "fix" the route to avoid it.  Currently, I must pull the route off the undesirable road.  But what would be much better is to simply mark that section of road as "no go" and let the route finder figure out the alternative. Why heatmap isn't enough Here in the UK there's a fairly obvious collection of unsafe / undesirable roads.  Literally any road number starting with "A" and a speed limit above 30mph with no off road cycle path (eg: A34).  These are legal for cyclists! But it most other respects they are a motorway / freeway. And yet A roads too often get used in strava route finder and show up on the heatmap.  One explanation for this is that local knowledge can sometimes trump the danger.  For example A roads can be subject to a lot of slow moving traffic at peak times and commuter cyclists will take advantage of the traffic jams. "Sure I'll cycle along that road at 8:30 am on my way to work, but at any other time I'd get killed" It is complex, because sometimes an A road is fine for 100m if there's a disjointed cross roads.  Sometimes you just have to cross the A road, and that's legal and (mostly) fine.  But that's a totally different story to a route taking me down 5-6 miles of A road. A heatmap marking a road is undesirable would be a good way to counter the inevitble truth that undesirable roads also show up in the heatmap sometimes.   Mods please note: This is not remotely related to this other feature request ... I am currently using my phone (iPhone) with the Strava app when I record my activities. Sometimes, I get these wildly amazing performances like running running 400m in 33 seconds - a feat I know I can't do, and I have been outdone by many non world record holders.  What I'd like to suggest is to have "route smoothing" that is automatic (maybe you have to opt in or opt out of the option) and takes out all the irregularities of the inaccurate GPS. I use Adobe products and this is a option in Adobe for vectors, I'm sure this is something that can be coded, perhaps using the native GPS route and refining it or even the cumulation of multiple distances over a regular Route or Segment - i.e. the same street can't be 1.2km for one athlete and 1.4km for another. (this could also apply to groups running together, one athlete running the same route as another is somehow faster or runs longer, often not the case) Perhaps a use case for AI? I recently upgraded my bike computer and bought a smart watch. Everyone can immediately check what types they are as they are displayed, taken from the .fit file. I don't need to show off what gear I have. In many places, it's outright dangerous to share that you have an Apple Ultra or a Garmin Tactic watch, as thugs will follow and rob you for it. So,  please: Create an option to hide the device name that is taken from the uploaded/synched .fit file And/or an option to automatically rename a device between the .fit file and the Strava displaying of it.
