Misleading segment vertical stats

Currently Strava provides the following stats about each segment: distance, elevation, and grade.The problem is that these stats are only valid if a segment is a straight uphill or straight downhill.But if a segment has both uphill and downhill parts the stats can be wrong or even outright misleading.Here a good example. The segment below takes one of the steepest trails uphill to the top of a popular local summit, then goes down on another equally steep trail, then turns around and ascends the second trail, then goes down on the first trail.The segment description shows the grade as 0%, which couldn't be further from truth. It also shows the elevation incorrectly as 2035 ft. In fact this segment has about twice the elevation gain and the average grade is closer to 25%. So not only this segment stats don't provide correct information about the segment but also it won't likely come back in a search as a hilly segment. I think Strava can do better than that. I understand how St

Triathlon upload

Hi still not able to upload a triathlon I competed in on 2nd June .. every thing since then Is fine .. swims runs and rides .. as previously stated I have tried all the common fixes to no avail .. any thoughts ideas please ?? Obviously it's not a disaster but like to keep tabs on myself regards Stu .

Auto-hide all segments but my own?

In the web app is there a way when viewing an activity to auto-hide or one-click hide all segments that are not my own private ones?I ride the same route a lot and I have about 12 segments of my own that are starred. Since it's a heavily used trail, when I view an activity my own segments drown in the sea of random segments that others have created and made public. I literally have 40+ segments that I don't care about. I can hide them 1 by 1, but that's tedious and on my next activity in the same place it's the same again.Any current options to avoid this segment overkill?

Benefits of marking a ride "commute"?

I've been marking rides to and from work as commutes pretty diligently, but I see from various reports on the site that commutes can be hidden, which makes me think maybe they aren't meant to be treated as significant exercise? I ride as hard on commutes as I do on non-commutes, just that my destination is work and I have paniers on my bike for a change of clothes, laptop, etc. If anything, that little extra weight burns a few more calories, I'm sure.Would others count these as commutes? It is a little neat seeing how much CO2 I saved by not driving, though that's not really why I do it.

I open three incident ticket and I still waiting for any action from Strava team support. I’m the only one?here my problem Unfortunately, I remove my Facebook from my Strava account. I want to use my e-mail address for Login. However, I can’t log any more on my Strava account. I have more then 10 years of activities.My old Facebook account email  is no more is service) Here à copy of my last payment on August 24 for my annual subscription. Could you link my old Strava account to the following E-mail : and send e a link for a password reset?I’m still waiting for any answer for the 3 incidents I opened regarding the problem

Correcting street maps ?

I recently noticed that two street names on a Strava map were the wrong way around.  The street names have been used in the names of some Strava Segments, which causes some minor confusion.  The Strava map (at least in the UK) comes from OpenStreetMap.  I corrected the 2 street names via the OSM website (it's all open source) but when I look today the names on Strava are still incorrect.Hence my question - presumably there is some delay between a change being made in OSM and it reaching Strava.  Does anyone know how long this typically takes ? (I have a slight concern that I may have missed a step in the process of getting things corrected)

Run didn’t upload

Hi everyone I had tracked my run on my Apple Watch and on my phone however my Apple Watched stopped and it continued to track on my phone my longest distance yet and didnt upload, I’ve tried the option of going to refresh, logging in and out etc is there any other ways? It said it was uploading for about 10 mins after I saved it and then just disappeared . Any help at all appreciated it

Feedback on “Your Weekly Snapshot” feature

I’m now seeing the “Your Weekly Snapshot” at the top of my feed when using the app. I do not enjoy how this serves almost entirely to make me feel bad about my effort so far in the current week. This is detrimental to my experience on Strava.  My training schedule each week is highly variable due to plenty of factors such as work, personal commitments, weather, etc. I should not have to see a feature telling me I haven’t been working as hard when I have been putting in more or the same amount of effort as my schedule allows.  Please enable a toggle for this feature so we do not have to see it.

How to display MAX SPEED: Who cares about calories!? (which is a joke stat, anyway)

My Strava activities on my phone used to default to displaying distance, elevation gain, time, average speed, and MAX SPEED, but at some point with no warning or explanation it stopped displaying Max Speed and instead shows calories.I have friends whose activity feeds still default to show both avg and max speed, while others show calories -- but nobody knows how or why that changed, and nobody knows how to change it.Sure, I can click "view analysis" to see my Max Speed, but I don't want to do that. I want my activity feed to automatically display Max Speed. WHO CARES about calories (which of all the stats on Strava is basically a total joke & super inaccurate, anyway!)?HOW can I change that? Strava does it for some people already (and used to do it for me), soooooo it's obviously possible. But I can't find any info anywhere!

Saving a workout to resume later on Garmin produces ridiculous times on Strava

I know that the discrepency between Garmin times and Strava times have been reported again and again and the response from Strava is always "we're right, they're wrong" but this is ridiculous.I started a weights workout on Friday and finished it today, Saturday, and now Strava says the workout was 30 hours long while Garmin says it was 50m. That's not Strava being more strict about paus times, that's just silly.

Strava weather stats are a complete JOKE. *Way* off every time! CAN'T DISABLE?

Anyone else notice that the weather stats (like the equally *wildly inaccurate* "calories" stat) are insanely inaccurate? I live in Miami. Today's ride was oppressively hot & humid. According to Strava, though, the temp was 79° F, with a "feels-like" temp of 83°. Ummm...NO! Not even CLOSE. According to Weather.com, the feels-like temp was a whopping 104° F! Slightly different, I'd say.The Strava temps are not just "slightly off," but 10° to 20° off every single time.I have no idea how/where Strava is getting the weather information, but it's wildly inaccurate, to the point where I do not want the bogus Strava weather info to automatically appear on the ride.Is there no way to disable the weather stats? They automatically appear on the ride summary, despite being a complete joke.This should be a feature users could disable!Bottom line: If Strava can't provide accurate temps, the either DON'T provide them at all (!), or permit users to disable this

Add average heart rate to «Your Results» for cycling segments

I want to see average heart rate for «Your Results» on cycling segments. Now it just shows average power (W), and of course average speed (km/h) and total time.  I know it is possible to see the heart rate on the «Analyze Effort» page. But I want just an easy overview for all efforts to compare my fitness and see my trend. Same power and lower HR = better fitness.  There is enough space on the page + it would not clutter the page in my opinion.

3D terrain map missing labels

I'm using 3D terrain maps a lot. For week or two there are no labels at all, city/town names are missing and you can see just plastic map which is not as good as with labels. Am I missing something, like new setting (show/hide lables?)...? Or is this a general bug somewhere?Thank you in advance, Jan.

PR Not showing correctly

I have ran a PB on 5k today in the strava Apple Watch App. However, on my acitivity feed it shows 3:44, and in Brooks 5K challenge it shows 3:47. Nonetheless 3:47 is my current PB so it should be showing at least a second best try?  It seems like it only registered the run but not quite the segments or personal bests.. Thanks in advance!

Garmin uploading to strava incorrectly

Hi, my run uploads correctly to the garmin app with time, distance, map. But then when it uploads to strava, the map is cut off and the distance is 0.0km. The time is correct but it has not shown any distance. Does anyone know if I can manually upload my run from garmin app to strava? Thanks!

Bug in list of shoes

When I added my new Saucony Endorphine Speed 3 to my list of shoes, Strava makes the s lower case. I have tried numerous different tricks to get it to make that letter upper case as it should be, but it always winds up going back to lower case! For example, I tried renaming the shoe Endorphine PSpeed 3. That stays upper case. But when I remove the P the s goes to lower case. When I added a second space before Speed, then it worked. This does not happen with any of my other shoes. It seems as if Strava has a list of shoe names that it tries to match and the Endorphine Speed 3 is typed with a lower case 's' in that list. The double space didn't match anything so it kept my spelling. If this is the case, that is a feature that should be removed. Just use what I type in.

Incorect Total distance of my bike

I have a problem. The full distance of one of my bikes is incorrect. Strava shows that the bike has ridden 11,203 km, but it should be 4,683 km. I last verified the distance at 4,344 km. Since then, I have had 5 activities with this bike, with a total distance of 339 km. I tried to change the bike to another in these 5 activities and then return to the correct one, but it did not help. The distance is still incorrect and is 11,203 km. What can I do?

Pronouns

You've started using 'their' when referring to your customers instead of 'he' or 'her'. Why not have a 'preferred pronoun' field on the profile page for those who want to choose something other than 'he' or 'her' and assume the rest of us are referred to as 'he' or 'her'.

How long does it take for strava to recalculate achievements

Hello,when I try to refresh activity achievements, how long after presssing Refresh Achievements for this Activity (+Proceed) does it take to recompute all achievements for this activity?I'm asking because the "Achievements are being recomputed for this activity. This may take a moment." message at the top of the pa ge doesn't dissapear by its own, but does dissapear immediately if I refresh the page. I know that recalculation is happening in the background but due to this message not dissapearing I don't know when it finishes.

strava incorrect data?

Hi, this has happened again and I am getting annoyed by whatever Strava is doing with my team runs uploaded from garmin. Picture this:runner A (garmin) and runner B (polar) run the same trail, have the same pace, same pauses, everything is basically the same. Stats in both garmin and polar app are nearly identical - obviously, we ran together. Yet on strava, my (garmin) activity is 52 MINUTES longer than my friends. Like how is that possible if we ran arm by arm? His average moving pace in Strava reflects exactly what his polar app says, in my case, according to strava - I am 30% slower than him. Strava does not auto pause when one stops for a while when recording a walk

Hi,I have strava installed on my android phone and enable autopause on for both ride and run but when I record a walk and during that walk I stop for a few minutes,strava doesnt autopause and continue with the timer thus the recorded average speed for my walks is lower than actual speed.Is there a way to enable auto pause for walks?

Mismatch of activities between reality and annual statistics

Hello, I have a discrepancy between the number of uploaded activities and the annual statistics in My Stats on my account. I have uploaded 93 activities in 2024, but in My Stats I have only 83 activities for 2024. When I add up all the activities in My Activities in Training folder, the total is correct - 93 activities. Where could the problem be? My account is 39535432. Thank you. David Lukes
