Strava Features Chat

My segment creation screen only displays for a fraction of a second making it impossible to click “next”. Why ? im a paying subscriber and this happens on both my laptop and desktop . thanks in advance 

Just wondering if this is a known bug ...   (hi, I'm a subscriber, btw, have been for many years. hello)So, there are (running) segments I complete on a very regular basis. For some of these segments, I get segment efforts recorded on my activity, but when I view the leaderboards for the segment, I'm not there at all - in fact the leaderboard says at the bottom (on mobile) "Tackle this segment to compete for the crown" as if I've never completed it at all.Many segments I complete, even on the same activity are just fine, my effort is recorded, and I'm on the leaderboard (somewhere near the bottom usually).Here's an example ... an activity from today, where I got a PR on a segment, but when I look at the leaderboard, I'm not there. There isn't even a "today" leaderboard.  

I track two types of exercise in Strava, Cycling and Swimming.On the bike, I simultaneously use a power meter and a Polar H10 heart rate monitor.  My understanding is that Strava uses these two inputs to "calibrate" a Training Impulse estimate based on Relative Effort so that can be used for the times when I ride without a power meter or do something other than cycling.My Fitness and Freshness page is set up to use both, "Power and Relative Effort."When I bike, my power-based Training Load (which gets used directly for Training Impulse) is always about 0.7x Relative Effort.When I swim, I wear a heart rate monitor and Strava calculates a Relative Effort.  I expected Training Impulse to be about 0.7x Relative effort for the swims, because that's what it is when I bike with power meter and heart rate monitor.  TSS is always smaller than RE on the bike.  But I see the opposite result.  From swimming, the "Training

 For some reason I haven’t been able to comment for the past 24 hours on activities. A message reads, “rate limit exceeded”. It is working again now. Thank you, Strava. 

Hello. Wondering if it has ever been suggested to make a way to have your activities be non-public, yet still be able to be part of the leaderboards? A lot of the fun of Strava is segments. I hesitate to not make my activities public because I like being part of the segment leaderboards. I feel like I have to choose between safety and fun (and one of the biggest draws to the app). My suggestion would be to give an option to have your activities private but still participate in segment leaderboards, etc. Anyone else agree?  

When I go to any segment page on the Strava website (e.g. https://www.strava.com/segments/4471375) and scroll down to the leaderboard, any filtering request that I perform times out and is unable to be performed. The leaderboard filtering is a premium subscription feature. For example, it times out when I click "This year" in the left column (to filter by results this year) or "My Results" (to see only my results). It also times out when, in the top column of the leaderboard, I change "All-Time" to any other period (e.g. "Today"). Any filtering I try to perform greys out the leaderboard permanently, as it times out and fails to update, forcing me to refresh the page. I've replicated this on multiple browsers (Chrome, Brave, Edge). This bug has persisted for at least several weeks.

New to the forum so apologies if in the wrong placeMy downloaded routes won't load once I'm out in the middle of no where with no Internet. This keeps happening. I can't even see my list of routes anymore to open the downloaded one. It just tells me there's a network error and can't load.  Surly there's an option somewhere to see the downloaded routes while offline?

I have a power meter, so I can see the total work number (in kJ) as I ride my bike. Unlike "calories burned", total work should be a fairly straightforward calculation from the power numbers in Watts (it's a discrete time integral). Once the ride is uploaded, Garmin Connect numbers agree with what the head unit was showing. However, the Strava value for total work is usually 2-4% lower. Any ideas why?

There’s a bug in the iOS app:Settings > Push Notifications > option Comments on Others’ Activities > disableThis doesn’t turn off notifications for comments on other people’s activities - I keep this disabled but once I comment on someone else’s activity, I am still being notified about new comments.This makes me think twice before e.g. congratulating someone on a great achievement as I don’t want to be hit by a surge of notifications that I’m not interested in. I’d be happy to comment more and encourage fellow athletes, but this bug is stopping me. 

Hi, in the recent past (Winter 2022) group challenges would show the individual contributions of participants working together towards a goal. That was highly encouraging to members because it showed the work they put in to the collective goal.Now for whatever reason, that statistic is now replaced by “last qualifying activity date;” I don’t think this contributes anything to the participant themselves or to others within the group. It’s frustrating actually to not see individual contributions. The dates of activities adds no value shown as the main metric when viewing group challenges.Having to click into the individual users to see how much they’ve contributed to the collective goal is an extra step that saps the fun of what group challenges used to be. No one wants to tap into each individual participant to see what should be the first thing shown from a UX/UI perspective.Is this something that may be changed back to its previous UI?

Hi, my Strava account on an Android phone won't let me change email. The account and address is 12 years old and that email has not been used for anything other than Strava throughout those years. I honestly have no recollection of using it - note that I have always been permanently logged in so have never used it on a regular basis (logging in and out). I've no idea what my password is and I get no option saying 'forgot password?', so how am I supposed to progress with this??  It's infuriating!  Al. 😞

Can we pause notifications from Strava while injured. I’d really like to get back out there but I’m on strict bed rest the  light activity for the next 6 weeks. I’m already nervous about losing conditioning but Strava updates feel like nags.and I really do need to follow drs orders also it would be nice to be able to show injury or illness on the graph.

Hi, I started a challenge on 1st January and recorded the results manually and when I look at my activity feed it is reporting 31 December last year instead. I have checked the time zone settings and it says Sydney Australia and I've gone in to edit and it is 1st January, but then defaults to what looks like Los Angeles Time back in the feed. Are there any other ways to fix this? It's making my monthly tally short and I need to be able to show I've done 430 km for the challenge by the end of the month. Thanks

Hi, recent problem. I create a route - either drawing it on the app, or upload a gpx file, hit save and all should be fine. However the app shows (by the saved route count) that the route is created, yet it doesn’t appear in my list of saved routes! Website no better, the newly created route not displayed. Tried website using Chrome, no good. Did all obvious things like logout, delete app, remove cookies. No joy. Any ideas? I have logged a ticket but no idea how long that’ll take. Thanks. 

Hi all, I have gone through a big frustration with failures to add admins to my club. No matter what I use, my notebook with Firefox, Chrome and Edge, mobile app, I have tried everything and no luck with adding the admin. Whenever I click on the MAKE ADMIN button, the page resets and goes back to members page with no change whatsoever.Help please. Thank you, T.

I have recently been logged out of my Strava and have lost access to the email account it was linked to. how do I recover the account? I am still able to automatically upload activities through the Garmin connect app and I am subscribed to Strava. Please help! This has been going on for days of back and forth of submitting requests and no one is responding  all the best

I did the discounted membership price on my correct account. When the discount page popped up for the subscription it made me continue from a different browser. I logged in through the 'sign in through email option' and ended up signing up for the subscription on a brand new account because I used a different email. I want to transfer my subscription from one account to the other. How do I do this?

Does anyone know why the location of public photos on routes is hidden? - It would be great to see where those photos are taken, especially when the route has longer distance.

There is no way to see full distance of Nordic Skiing. And even better if you could choose a period as Skiing season starts November and might end in May. There's also new year in between which makes the season tracking difficult because everything starts on January and ends in December. 

How do you find out?I wish there was an easy way to tell if tracks are open before going and a way to comment on a segment/ point of interest to say it is closed. Some tracks are only open if the teams are practicing on the weekend. 

hey guys, So I have just this week gotten a new HRM, a Garmin Pro-Plus. Now when I complete a HIIT workout and save ther activity it seems to be recording mileage on the main page of my activity. How do I change / edit this? Its not the end of the world but my old HRM showed average HR and max HR which was perfect. Screen grab here: thanks!!!!!  

Could be possible to add other kind of sports in the leaderboard stats for Triathlon Clubs? Actually, the leaderboard for Triathlon clubs take only runs, rides, and swims stats into account. It is a pity because triathlete trained as well: fitness, crossfit, and virtual run and virtual bike especially in winter time. Could be possible That would be grateful, thanks in advance.

I'm not sure whether this is already possible and I can't see it for some reason or whether this has already been submitted as a feature idea.The basic need is to be able to see how much I've climbed during my ride so far. I can see that on my GPS but don't always use that, so it would be good to be able to see that within the Strava app.Is this something already available?Has it already been submitted as a feature idea? (I have searched but didn't see anything)

I need a help - I created a challenge for group of my friends, but before that I wanted to test it via few scenarios. I didn't realize that one of the members I invited to test is a non-subscriber and he "spent" all the three free accesses. Now he can't join the actual challenge. Is there any way he can be unlocked please? Or other solution would be, if I can change the date in the testing challenge so he can actually stay there? Thank you
