Last January I shifted from Apple Watch 6 to Apple Watch Ultra. At the same time, I shifted from using Nike Run Club to Strava to monitor my runs. As well, I started running much more regularly on a treadmill than outdoor. After this, the VO2 max recorded by Apple Health has been tremendously going down over the last two months, despite the fact that I increased my volume of running by roughly 30%. I checked with Apple Support but they could not give me a definitive answer. I'm wondering whether this is due to lack of syncing between Apple Watch Ultra and Strava. Anybody has been experiencing the same? Can anybody advise? Thanks

Hi everyone, first message here since I got my Membership 🙂I'm training for a marathon and noticed that Strava consistently reports better pace than my friend I'm running with who's using Nike Run. Upon closer examination we noticed that Nike applies aggressive smoothing to the GPS data, while Strava leaves lots of wiggles in. Compared to a map-based route plan the Strava distance is inflated almost 3% (!) due to the wiggles, while Nike is quite close to the theoretical map distance.This is explained in https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216919487-How-Distance-is-Calculated but the GPS smoothing explained there is either not working or not aggressive enough. I use Training Peaks app to have my activities checked by my coach based on data that I upload from Strava. I do it manually by typing/export_tcx in the address bar and then uploading a tcx file to the Training Peaks calendar. However, I noticed that TP shows elapsed time instead of Moving time by default and in order to get it right, each time I have to edit the activity data and type correct time. Why is it so and is there a way to make Strava export moving time rather than elapsed time? 

I have a garmin forerunner 255 and my activities are automatically uploaded from garmin connect to strava. Yesterday i did a 10k run but the activity in strava has 0,00km. The activity in garmin connect however shows all the right data and kilometers. I have tried to manually upload the .gpx and .fit files to strava but then the problem remains. Anyone has an idea what the problem is and how i can resolve this? Thanks!

After an event is logged and you linked the activity with someone you did the activity with. If you then go into settings to hide start and end points from that location, the start and end points are not hidden on the feed. But when you press the activity the start and end points are hidden. I also managed to link an activity to the så.e person twice.   

Picked up a Galaxy Watch 6, and when starting my weight training the watch would record my Heartrate, but not my elapsed time. I also had it randomly finish my workout, but it showed the elapsed time on the finished post. When im not viewing the workout on my watch it records the time, once i view the workout on my watch the time goes down to 00:00.I previously owned a watch 4 to track my weight workouts, and never had a problem. 

I'm going for a total elevation gained goal for 2024 - across all human powered sports (hike, run, walk, trail run, ride, backcountry ski). This should be covered by the Yearly Elevation Goal on the app, but mine looks wildly off. I think it's including all my Alpine Ski elevation descended. Since Alpine Ski is lift-served, can you please remove Alpine Ski from the Yearly Elevation Goal? Thank you!FYI - outer space is 330,000ft high. A great yearly elevation goal 🚀

I tried the flyover feature today - it made a really cool video of my run. Unfortunately it completely ignored my privacy zones 😓So the only people I can show the video to are my pets. Is this a feature or a bug? Any reason to not use the shared version of the map not the user’s view? Anyone else had this issue or found a resolution?

Hi, I have some starred segments that are uphill average grade (have goals and everything), but for some reason they don't download to my Edge 830 after sync. I want to emphasize that I do see some live segments on my Garmin (about 4 out of the 10 eligible) but these ones don't download. I've tried unstarring them/syncing/re-starring but that doesn't work - I don't see them in my Live Segments collectionWould love some help fixing this - thanks!

Hi, I'd like to know, if possible to get gpx export file other athletes with timestamps. If I'm trying it now, I¨m getting only coordinates and an elevation in trkpt elements. Thanks for a reactions.

I sometime use the Segment Explore tool to browse the segments in my area or in random locations. https://www.strava.com/segments/explore After some criteria is met: time used, things loaded, things clicked? The window refuses to load any more segments. This is evidently tied to your account, as you can try in a different browser or different device and it will still refuse to load anything. You have to wait some time (a day?) before you can use the tool again. I assume the rationale is Strava had an issue at some point with people scraping data from this interface, so it locks you out. I had assumed that purchasing a Strava Subscription would remove this limit and would let me freely browse the Segment Explore without locking me out after 10 minutes and making me wait an entire day before being able to use it again. Some background:1. A ride showing 190+ average (220+ NP) on my Wahoo App shows up as below 140 on Strava.2. Whaoo normally does not count zeros, but i turned ON that setting. So now, Wahoo should be counting the zeros same as strava3. My max power on wahoo/strava matches.Why could it be 50+ watts different?Thanks!

Some recent release of the Android app has broken the dropdown menus. Pressing the actual down arrow at the right hand side of each menu has no effect. This is a long way from being the most broken feature on the app, but it's a bizarre choice if intentional, flying in the face of several decades of UX best practices. It's also consistently annoying as I keep pressing at it unconsciously as the arrow is not only closest to the digit of a right-handed user, but also acts as a visual call to action. Of course based on the triage process around here I look forward to years of gradually learning to not press the inactive button that looks like it should do something. Thanks!

If you live / stay in one country (say France - Euro) and then move to another country  (say UK - sterling) ; and you have a subscription, and you want to change the subscription currency from Euro to the local one (in this case sterling) , you can’t.  This is a bit annoying.  apparently you have to cancel your existing subscription and the (I think) start a new subscription in a different currency.  Strava says the data that you have access to from your subscription won’t be lost ….. I haven’t tried it yet. 

Cannot upload my Zwift ride to Strava while using my Tacx Neo trainer without uploading the ride manually to Strava. Cannot seem to solve the problem. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks - Dave

Hi, In Strava Routes desktop, how can I turn off the 'route to here' suggestions? In areas where there are a lot of photos, they block the ability to draw routes because the cursor is never further enough away from the blue pin. Attached screenshot is from Calanques where it's not really possible to draw your own route due. Thanks in advance! Emi 

Hello community,not sure whether it is bug or feature, but would like to ask about inconsistent sum of kilometers in my profile. If I sum up all my runs from 2024, I get something around 608km. But my “year to date” statistics says 585km. Is there a bug, or is there anything behind what O am not aware of (eg. Manual activities don’t count, or so)? thanks in advance

FIrst time on this Strava forum,If Strava is incorrectly routing a best route, can we update strava? or is it a maps error?Like an obvious bug?

When I ride my indoor trainer - an old TurboTrainer type of unit, with no smarts of its own - the session shows up in Strava with a short but non-zero distance and a very short duration. My best guess as to what's going on is that the distance is based on GPS jitter that makes it look like my position occasionally changes by a few feet, and the duration is a "moving time" based on those position changes. When I ride the trainer for 30 minutes, with of course an actual distance of 0, Strava typically shows a distance of about 0.1 mile and a duration of about 3 minutes.Tagging the activity as Indoor Cycling or changing the activity type to Virtual Ride has no effect. The same activity appears with the correct duration when I upload it to Garmin Connect, but it does also show the very short distance.To make this a post about features, here's my suggestion:When a ride is tagged as Indoor Cycling, and has a route that's confined to a radius of 100 meters or less, and

Hello! I've just bought a Samsung Watch 5 and I'm stuck while using Strava App. There is a way to customize the screen fields? I would like to have 2 screens, one with heart and distance and another one with pace and time. I found a tip in another forum which mentioned to try using the Samsung Health (it allows the screen customization) and synchronize it with Strava, but I figure out that there is no way to synchronize activities that has no GPS Data. I downloaded Strava a couple of days ago, not for the social aspect - I'm in a *very* remote area of Canada's North and nobody else rides here - but because I heard it's great at tracking info. I like it so far because of the amount of *correct* data available during and after my trail rides. I can't get Strava to show me my heart rate while cycling. It's connected via my Samsung Watch5/Health, but doesn't show on screen during or after. How can I make that happen?Also, I'd like to share my activities with friends and family on the other side of the continent on Facebook or text. I press "share" but they have to join Strava to view it. Am I missing something? And lastly, there's no manual, instructions, or video less than 2-3 years old, and the interface has changed a lot. Edit: what the heck is Mont Blanc under my name? Is it supposed to be where I am??

I would like to keep a library of rides and only have a select few pushed to my Wahoo App (and onto my computer). After testing this, it displays both saved routes and stared routes. Realizing this may be a Wahoo question, any other suggestions to try in Strava?   Thanks!

Hi,When using the Strava Android App(269.10 (1226114)), if you enter a Swim activity, and try to define the `Type of Activity` you only have one option.... Commute 😂Maybe there is somewhere in the world people may need to commute via swimming, but I would say for the vast majority of people this option will never be ticked.It would be far more useful if you could mark your swim as a Race, like you can for run/cycle.Posting in this forum as im not sure if its a bug or what, but its been like this for years
