Strava Features Chat

Hey all,I have been trying to get this figured out and I am stumped.  My emergency contact accidentally responded "off" to the automated Strava Beacon text and now they are no longer receiving my strava beacons when I head out for a run.  Anyone else dealt with this?  Do you have any ideas on how to reenable the strava beacon texts? I use a garmin and have had no previous issues.Thanks!

Waarom kan ik mijn hartslag niet zien als ik mijn activiteiten upload? Deze wordt nochtans gemeten via mijn Garmin die weldegelijk verbonden is met mijn Strava. Bij de verborgen details zijn deze ook niet te zien. Ik kon ergens ook kiezen om al mijn vorige activiteiten aantepassen, maar dat heeft niets veranderd. Kan iemand mij helpen? 

When I'm following a saved and downloaded route on Strava, the route disappears every time my phone screen locks.  When I load up the screen the saved route has disappeared.  I have to back tab and restart route every time.  This is very frustrating when trying to follow a route.  It's even more frustrating noting this problem has been going on for months and hasn't been fixed by Strava update.  STRAVA - WHEN WILL THIS BUG BE FIXED?

Hi. Earlier stratva app use to.work in my galaxy watch. Now a days i am getting message which says gettining gps fix. So i am not able to record maps details if I use this. Now when I use samsunh heatl app from mobile ot doesnt upload details in starva. Auto walk etc are uploaded. When i use samsung health run app from mobile ot uploads in strava. Why it is like this. And for getting gps fixed i have tried eveeything its not working. Reset, re install, permissions all are given

Is there a reason why indoor rides on zwift or rouvy do not appear to have much, if any impact on the fitness score?  When I do an outdoor ride my score usually increases by 1-2 points but never changes after an indoor ride.  I have power and heart tracking when riding indoor so not sure why it doesn't seem to change my fitness score?

This was from today in the morning. I was just going around a normal oval shaped small track i think its like 1/8th of a mile per full rotation. Idk whats going on and why it did that mess. Its on the second floor of a gym maybe thats why? Is it okay for me to put my phone in my pocket while strava runs? Should i put the location to always on? I also have an apple watch so this makes it even weirder since it should be more accurate. I redownloaded the app and ill be seeing if the same issue happens again tmrw.

Using DaFit app to export data to Strava but it seems that every time there is a difference of 3 hours in the time of the activity (if the workout was done at 3pm, it shows 6pm on strava when exported). Also, sometimes the the distance on strava is almost double of what it is on the app (with the start and end point tied up together somehow)How to fix this?

I've been using Outdooractive (formerly ViewRanger) for several years now. I decided to sign up for Strava to check it out. It looks like it might be a better option for what I need but I'm having a little problem moving over data.I exported all my "tracks" from Outdooractive to GPX files as well as FIT files. This was a pain to do one by one, but it's done. However, when I try to import them into Strava, it doesn't bring over the title for each, which is pretty important to me. If I open one of the GPX files in Notepad++, it correctly shows the name of the track within the <name> and </name> element tags that are within the <trk> and </trk>. But it doesn't bring them over into Strava's activity for the title - instead, it just defaults to things like "Afternoon Run."Is that expected behavior? I don't want to manually have to change all of these in Strava. Can I make changes to the GPX files before importing them into Strava so it'll carry

Training load has decreased by 7 points overnight and my activity from the weekend is now showing less than at the time of upload. Paying for a premium subscription and wouldn’t expect this to happen. Please advise Strava.

My main activity is cycling. This is just a suggestion relating to the badges you give out. I like the badges - especially the monthly distance riding badges. I am not an elite athlete, nor do I regularly ride more than 30 miles in one go, so I only set out to achieve the 200k per month badge. Recently I have managed to attain the 200k badge for 12 months straight, having not been able to achieve it previously due to illness/injury, which I think is a great achievement in its own right. Why don't you give Badges for recognising 'perseverance and dedication'? No matter what distances people may set as their targets, if they achieve their target for 12 months straight, then that deserves some recognition. You don't need to stop at 12 months, what about 2 years, or 3. 5 years straight without missing a month would be tremendous for anyone, no matter what level they are at. Please give it some thought.

 Why?Goal is not accounting for all types of rides? Why?

If a segment includes an out and back, how close to the turn around do I need to get for it to count?  For example, the segment includes offshoot dead end road that is ridden out and back as part of the segment.  What’s the tolerance for that segment to count or be rejected?

Apparently streaks has been live on the app for two or three days now but even though my app is updated I can’t find them anywhere. I checked under the progress tab as well as other areas. Anyone else not seeing streaks?!

Hello, for some time i see only clean maps and it annoys me because i want to understand more when i look on route of others.Tnk.

This week (Nov 3rd - Nov 9th 2025) I had three activities of running. First on Nov 4th, 2025 12.12km and 1.01km and the third one is on Nov 7th, 2025 13.13km. In my profile activities appear the total mileage is 26.26km, but in my club’s leaderboard it only appears my 1.01km of running. Could anyone help me to overcome this problem? I’m afraid that next week will happen again like that. Thank you

I completed a Bike and Run multisport activity using the apple fitness app. After uploading to Strava it is shown as one continuous activity. I know other smart watches upload as separate activities and would be nice if it was the same with apple fitness as you do not see any segments or average speed data for the individual sports and the transition is not accounted for either .  

I am an athlete who has always used leaderboards as a motivational tool.As I get older, I have focused more on the age-related boards. Having crossed the age boundary into 55+, all the hills that I target are heavily populated by mis-categorised ebike rides. I appreciate that the AI tool is looking for obvious cheats/mistakes, perhaps a KOM in a car.For the E-bike problem I see, I suspect it is largely about more casual riders and ignorance of the rules. I see consistent patterns in the data: Low athlete activity levels, recorded on a phone, no HR/power data, cups on hills (but no other segments) slow times on all key metrics 5k, 10k, etc. My suggestion is that you set a performance threshold and automatically recategorise all rides that meet it. For example, given the E-bike issue (in Europe maybe not the US) is largely around hills, it would be simple to set a transparent rule that if you acheive, say, a VAM of over 1,000 on a segement and you don

Since around 18 September 2025 I’ve noticed a drastic decrease in Relative Effort calculation.This leads to my Fitness & Freshness graph saying I’m much fresher than reality and it will also go down significantly week after week.I’ve seen the recent HR zones update and I barely changed my zones, so that shouldn’t be the reason.Any idea how it’s possible? Hi All and Strava I know there used to be an association between Strava and parkrun. But regardless of the reason for that ending parkrun is a great force for good and encourages people to exercise. My feature request is to have a runtype category of 'parkrun' much like there is one for 'race'  

estimated average power and energy output is not visible in my strava accoun for my cycling activity. What to be done?

I dislike this new share pop up as I can't use the scrolling screenshot to include the temperature. I see many people also dislike this popup.  I personally don't like popups at all. If I want to use the share button,. I will click on it.
