Strava Features Chat

It would be helpful to have the ability to rename routes directly from the My Routes list page.

I know it is a small thing but it is one of those things that is quite annoying about Strava. You know that situation when you finish a run and notice that it is very close to a round number of miles, than you run a bit further to make it e. g. 5 miles. Then it uploads to Strava and shows as 4.99 miles in some parts of the app and 4.9 miles in other parts of the app (e. g. the training calendar). Can Strava stop doing that? 

Question: is there a limit to the kudos that you can give? Per hour, per day, etc?  I was scrolling my feed and was giving kudos and at some point I wasn't able to. 

Since about a year, when navigating to the Maps section of the app (on Android), the default view is with “Routes” selected. I only used the Maps to check my saved routes, so every single time I have to disable the list of routes proposed (which are terrible suggestions in my opinion, by the way) which becomes very annoying when trying to follow a route, since the app constantly also reset the view after a few minutes, so that I need to open the saved route again. Can the app at least remember the choice of “Map only” view for the next time I open the Maps tab?Also, when loading a saved route, the default view is 3D, so every time I have to change it back to 2D (after having to wait for the camera to do its movements) since the 3D maps are completely unreadable. Can the app also remember this preference? Or better, can there be an option to completely disable the 3D map view everywhere in the app? That would be fantastic. 

I get it that some people may find this feature useful. But I am on week 488 of the streak and trust me I am not going to skip a week in a foreseeable future, therefore for me this feature is absolutely useless - it only adds clutter and makes it more difficult to access other features that I use very often, for example the Training Log. The Training Log in particular is being pushed further and further down in the UI with every new shiny feature that Strava adds to the app. How many people do actually find the Streak feature useful? Have you done any research? Since there are a lot of features in the "You" tab, how about giving users a bit of control on reordering these features or hiding them? Also, that would give Strava a feedback on which features users do actually prioritize.

After a few years of having a paid subscription, I have reverted to the free option - main reason is that I am getting old and no longer able make use of the additional features of paid model. On returning to the free model, it seems to have lost so much that was there a few years ago. 1) I cannot load up past similar runs so I now have to create my own spreadsheet. 2) I look at the group for my running club and can only  see the top three for each category. I am certain I used to be able to see all 80 to 100 runners in the group. There is no point in just looking at the elite athletes and not being able to see your peers.Also, Strava now seems extremely slow to load but I don’t think this is down to switching to free model as I am sure it was becoming slow with the subscription model (and I am comparing it to other apps on the same computer, same broadband).I am seriously considering abandoning Strava and finding an alternative.

I’m a club admin and I was excited when I saw this feature pop up on my phone - Score!  This will be useful!  And then I was disappointed.  The feature says “Get a snapshot of who attended, and use that info to grow your Club.”, but this is very misleading.  Here’s why:It uses as +/- 15 minute window from the event start time to find riders who joined.  That’s a HUGE mistake.  We often have 40+ people show up for rides and always allow 5-minutes grace period before starting, THEN we gather everyone together to provide ride information, THEN we organize into pace groups, etc.  Sometimes we manage this within 15-minutes of the official ride start time (really gathering time).  Sometimes we don’t.  The time window needs to be longer.  Alternatively, you need to let club administrators set the time window.  Or you need us to have a separate publicly listed start time (i.e., what is shown on the event RSVP) and an anticipated start time (e.g., 10 minutes later) that

I think there is an error in your “Athlete Intelligence” script.Today I walked with an elevation of 154m and AI says that that is nearly the double of my typical 30-day elevation gain of 39m. As far as I remember the double of 39 is 78. So that’s not even close 😉   

Please can you roll back the new route planning as it is so rubbish. I want the old one back. It incorrectly categorises roads as off road. Really unhelpful as routes which are totally road come out as 63% unspecified. Using the old version it knew they were road. Please don't launch new versions until they work! Roll it back until it's actually better!!!!!

I have an active group challenge in which we are attempting a cumulative distance of 2,000 by any activity type. however the challenge doesn’t show cumulative distance? where is this shown or do I have to add the individual totals up myself? And if not, why not? Surely that’s the whole point!

Hi everyone. Is there any hack how to retire an added component to specific date at my bike in the Strava application. Here is the situation, I changed a chain 14 days ago, but I forget to retire the previous one on the day of change. When I want retire the old one, it counts all the kilometers it did not do. thank you

Sou assinante pagante e desde o dia 12/09/2025 estou enfrentando um problema. Realizei uma corrida de 5 km com tempo de 28:47 (tempo de movimento) que deveria ser registrada como meu novo RP1. Porém, o Strava não atualizou corretamente e continua mostrando apenas recordes anteriores. Já abri múltiplos tickets de suporte, mas todos foram fechados automaticamente sem solução. Estou anexando prints que comprovam o erro. I use Fenix 6S to record my outdoor rowing. Sometimes it shows up in training log as a row but most times just as 'workout'.  I can't figure out why it does this as I follow exact same steps each time.Screenshot example shows 28Jul 17k row in Blue but 29Jul is also a row but showing small grey dot and no distance.  This happens most of the time and there are plenty more examples.  (11, 12 and 13 Jul are all rows). This makes the training log useless for me. 

I walk, take a bus or train, then restart to walk. I would like Strava to calculate only the part where I walk but I didn’t find a solution except start-finish and then start-finish a second time. And then add the 2 distances, the 2 times,… and how can I handle the average bmp and the rest? I tried using Pause during my bus/train use, but Strava still considers that I walked during the Pause and add the m or km to the total. I don’t want that! 

Hi runners,I cancelled my subscription as my partner suggested we join the family plan. However, when she sends me the invititation, the page reads that i cannot join the plan and need to live in the same country.We are both set to the same city and country in our Strava profiles. Did anybody else encounter this problem? Any solutions? Thank you guys! It somehow feels a bit demotivating to run and not have my premium features.Kind regards,JJ

HelloSince version 428.0.1 of the Strava app on iOS, the power zones graphs are corrupted it looks like Z6-7 is displayed as Z1, Z5 is displayed as Z3…Anybody else experienced this so far? 

I follow my brother and he follows me. He is a subscriber. Recently he posted a screenshot of the map of his last activity, swimming in a lake. I accessed Strava to have a better look of it but HE DOESN’T have any activity! 

I’m trying to plan a circular running route. It works well until the route comes close to the finishing point, when it automatically reroutes to take the shortest distance between the two, undoing all the planning I’ve done. I tried inserting lots of waypoints to force it to stick to the route I want, but it has a mind of its own

My app interface is in Italian. But now when I record an activity instead of Passeggiata mattutina I have Morning walk. All the activities’s titles are in English.

It’s interesting to see the Best Efforts in an athlete’s profile, however, in some cases the data is corrupted by inclusion of flagged Activities.  For example, here’s some data for an athlete in my local area which shows some rather impressive Best Efforts, such as cycling for 5 miles at 126 mph (!!)… If I click on the links to see the related Activity it shows they have all been flagged (hardly surprising).  Surely Activities that have been flagged in this way should not continue to be included in an athlete’s Best Efforts ?

Good evening,Is it possible to give directions in maps, like turn left in 200 meters? Today i rode a route which contained a few roads which i had to ride more than once. Then it is not possible to see if you have to turn left or right at the end of the road or at a t split when both are part of the route.Thanks, René Kleverwal Netherlands
