Hi, I'm using a huawei smartwatch and it syncs with strava. I was using running mode when I was taking a break I paused via smart watch, but strava didn't detect the pause and strava continued to detect me moving. Should I enable auto pause mode on the strava app?

Hello Strava community, and especially strava employees:There are a few segments I "keep tidy", meaning I flag obvious motorized assistance.  Sometimes I wonder why... but recall that strava is community moderated, so I try.They are obvious - the hill climb holder is a former world tour pro who set the KOM when he was in the world tour.  Then there's 2-3x the speed and totally unrealistic VAM's of people with their tracking on in vehicles.  This is against strava's stated rules.Strava used to allow 10 per day of these flagging, so I'd do 10 per day when work was slow.  Now for 3 days and counting my account is prevented from flagging.1.  When did the quantity per day change?2. Has strava permanently flagged my account, for doing what is the intended purpose of community self regulation, on entirely legitimate basis of rides? 

Just today I find I can no longer sync Samsung Health with Strava as the button under services is greyed out. I've reinstalled both apps 2 or 3 times now & allowed all permissions but it still won't work Any suggestions please?

Heat maps are so great but I feel like making them activity specific takes a huge amount of value out of them. Especially when they are split up between trivial differences like Run and Trail Run (or even Hike for that matter). Does anyone know why this decision was made? Any word of just One Heat Map™ on the horizon?

It looks like Strava's GPX importer completly ignores "trkseg" XML tag. In attached file there are two segments.GPX file contains one track (trk XML tag). This track can have one or more segments (trkseg XML tag). Segment have points (trkpt XML tag). I recently did a 10.4km run in 57 minutes tracked by MiFitness, but Strava recorded it as 8.5km, and if I used the Correct distance feature my elapsed time dropped to 22 minutes meaning my speed was completely wrong! I drop out of mobile phone reception a couple of times on my run, but Strava has recorded the correct route and Google Maps agrees with the distance recorded by MiFitness so I don’t know what could cause this. A small discrepancy wouldn’t be an issue, but this makes it useless!

I am the developer of an application currently using the Strava API (Client ID:  159350.We believe we haven't reached the 100-athlete limit for development applications.Could you please help us verify our current usage, and if needed, grant a quota increase?This application is intended to help a small group of runners automatically track and analyze their activities via Google Sheets.Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Hi,I’ve noticed in comparing results with friends that my new Samsung Ultra watch is showing very different results-adding a little mileage and a lot of elevation. Today I ran my S32 Ultra phone with my watch-attached are the results. (both auto pause) The watch is supposed to have improved GPS. Any thoughts?cheers-Jeffattached is the ride

  3D view map preview is selected by default for all trail runs. I see it a lot in my feed because most of people who I follow are trail runners. I find that the 3D map hurts usability of Strava more than it helps. With the 2D map, just by glancing at the map preview, I often instantly know where the run was - many shapes of trails are easily recognizable. But with the 3D map a good part of the route is often obstructed by terrain like in the example below. That is because the view is always oriented south to north. So unless the activity was on a south slope or the terrain is fairly flat, the 3D map often looks quite terrible and useless to convey a good information about the activity.  I find that I often want to switch back to the normal 2D map, and that is glitchy by the way. Often I switch the map at the same time as editing a run title and details but it doesn't get switched. And then I have to edit the activity and change it again.  I'd really like an option to r

When calling the GET /activities/{id} endpoint, I referred to the sample JSON structure in the Strava API documentation. I noticed this section:"highlighted_kudosers" : [ { "destination_url" : "strava://athletes/12345678987654321", "display_name" : "Marianne V.", "avatar_url" : "https://dgalywyr863hv.cloudfront.net/pictures/athletes/12345678987654321/12345678987654321/3/medium.jpg", "show_name" : true } ]However, when I made the actual request, I didn't receive any highlighted_kudosers field in the response. What could be the reason for this? I want to display the avatars of these highlighted kudos users. How can I achieve this? Do I need to call additional endpoints to get this information? My question is, since the highlighted_kudosers field exists in the official documentation's sample JSON, why is it completely absent in the actual response? I want to display the power-to-weight ratio during cycling activities, and I need to obtain the athlete's weight information that matches the activity data (this information is usually available on cycling computers). However, Strava only provides the weight information from the user's last update. How can I retrieve the athlete's weight at the time the activity was uploaded? Are there any solutions for this?🤔

I'm experiencing a recurring issue on the Strava mobile app (Android). When I tap into an activity—either my own or someone else's—the map sometimes fails to display. This doesn’t happen every time, but often enough to be noticeable. If I exit the activity view and re-enter, the map typically loads properly on the second attempt.Device info: Phone model: Pixel 7 Android 15 Strava app version: 409.9 Additional notes: Issue occurs on both Wi-Fi and mobile data. No error message appears; the map section is simply not shown. Slide down with finger doesn’t work. Reproducing it is inconsistent, but it happens roughly [5]% of the time. See attachments. You’ll notice the one that doesn’t show the map doesn’t have the down arrow in the top left, so it’s not available to swipe down to reveal the map.

In December I noticed I couldn’t view, edit or create routes in the broswer (I tried them all). My routes still appear on the strava app. This is one of the main reasons I pay for Strava.When I try to create a route in browser I get the following error message…“Error: Sorry, we couldn’t complete that action. Please try plotting the point again.This can occur when routing across large distances, so try plotting more frequent waypoints that are closer together.”I’ve tried to create a ticket but it is still unanswered since December - I got a few emails saying they would be slow to reply but nothing more.Am I missing something or is this just how Strava is now?

I completed a 14 mile walk yesterday which has uploaded to Strava on my activity feed but didn’t go against my weekly goal or my annual goal. I wanted it to go against my annual goal as it would put me well over my expected goal for half way of the year. Can anyone advise what I can do? Thanks Sarah 

Perhaps this is user error, but if not….very confusing Ux: If I click “Run” on a different shoe, and then go back to this shoe, its unchecked. I had no idea that this checkbox was how I decide which shoe Strava chooses when I finish a run. Each gear category should have an order of preference for that piece of gear, not a “Default Sports” checkbox that puts a piece of gear at the top of the list for a given category. Anybody who uses this app enough to pay for it almost certainly has different shoes for each of these categories.  Or am missing something? 

The options to delete or edit a route seem to be missing from all the routes on my account. It doesn’t matter if I originally created the route, or duplicated it. The age of the route also appears to have no bearing. Rides that are public appear to show an option to Embed, but are also missing the edit/delete options.

So, basically, i can't delete or edit my routes… On my browser, i don't see any option to edit or delete a route. On the “My Routes” page and in the route specific page, there's no option do edit or delete:I also can't see the famous “spanner” icon that is supposed to show when i hover my mouse over the map. On mobile (Strava 410.11 on Android 14) there is a bug where “My Routes” is just empty: Anybody have any of this bug and could solve it in some way?

How on earth does this work? I have a Galaxy Fit 3 and Samsung Galaxy A55. I understand that you toggle on Strava as a synced service through Samsung Health. The watch and phone are synced fine. I’ve given Strava and Samsung Health all permissions, including physical activity and sensors. What shows in the Strava app when they are successfully synced? In the settings bit, I can click two different things. One - ‘Connect an app or device’ with a little watch icon. And two -Manage apps and devices’. The first opens a screen of different watches available, and I select Samsung. It then says ‘visit our support page to connect’ and has a orange ‘get started’ button at the bottom. When clicked, it’s a support post about connecting it - all of which I have done. When I press back, it briefly flashes up with ‘error connecting your device’. The wheel spins in the top right corner of the Strava app too. What do I need to do from within the Strava app to sync and connect? 

The activities.csv file included in Strava’s bulk account export does not have a field for an activity's visibility settings (i.e., whether the activity is visible to Everyone, Followers, or Just Me). Along similar lines, the archive is also missing per-activity map visibility settings (e.g., if the start/ends are hidden). That makes it impossible to maintain privacy when sharing data in bulk across services.I propose that Strava add these fields to the archive that’s produced when exporting data.

Is there a specific reason why pictures on strava profiles are limited to max. 100 photos? And new pictures remove the oldest ones?To me this is an awful implementation! Strava’s only appeal is the “social network of sport”. Group activities with friends and pictures are sort of crucial and the whole reason for using strava over any other tracking app. But it is not even possible to see your old pictures from past activities if you have reached 100 photos and keep posting pictures for new activities. Why? As if instagram or facebook deletes old pictures and posts with friends when you reached a certain number. Your thoughts? Any chance developers will update this? Really disappointed (Yes I checked: apparently pictures are still stored in the activities, not sure at full quality, but they just get removed from your main gallery….)

In the tutorial at https://stravalib.readthedocs.io/en/v2.2/get-started/how-to-get-strava-data-python.html in the bottom part of Step 1it seems like you should save your client secret and access token in the txt file. When we are loading the tokes inclient_id, access_token = open("client_secrets.txt").read().strip().split(",")we read the client id and the access token, which is what we need later in the tutorial. So the text in the tutorial includes an error and should be changed to client id everywhere where secret value is mentioned.
