Strava Features Chat

So I’ve been recording a bunch of Strava activities on my mobile as well as Garmin watch. I’ve realised the phone GPS is largely inaccurate at times, adding multiple additional miles on my runs, really exaggerating my PBs for all distances. I’ve now deleted the runs recorded on my phone but it hasn’t automatically updated the original runs from the watch to show PBs. I’m worried this ghost data will affect my future runs. I really don’t want to have to create a new account. Any advice is great. 

I have tried two different accepted formats and get the following error message after briefly flashing the screen I would fill in the info:"Time information is missing from file. More information"When I click "more information" I get "Oops " the page doesn't live here and directed to general Strava online help.Tonje

Hi all!I recently resubscribed to Strava and I noticed that almost all of my activities are left out from heatmaps. I have chosen: All time All sports Include private activities So I think all of them should be on the heatmap, but almost none of them are included, even some quite recent activities are missing

I would actually like to know how to remove an inaccurately recorded part from my route. My Fitbit is linked to my Strava app, but while my Fitbit knows I've stopped, Strava kept recording my drive home after my run.  AKA, I ran 8 miles, not 20. 🙄

I recorded 2 rock climbing sessions last week: one for 1h 21m and one for 1h 27m, however when I look under "Rock Climb" in the "This week" section of my profile, it says I only did 56m of rock climbing. I have a similar problem with the week before.  I'm wondering if this has to do with the fact that I just got a new Garmin watch and started recording these activities as a "workout" on the watch and and then switching them to "rock climb" once they have uploaded to Strava. 

I noticed that it is not possible to share Tennis activities on the Instagram stories via the Strava app. Could you add this feature please? Thanks

Is there any way I can see the distance of my runnings for the past 5 years?

It's not a big thing, rather small quality of user experience change - I think it would be more natural if the challenges starting the soonest are the ones at the top, not the other way around. This refers to the mobile app.  

On the mobile app (iPhone, everything up-to-date), if I press the Maps button at the bottom of the screen, I'm presented with a list of other people's routes that I cannot hide. It takes up valuable screen real estate, cannot be hidden, and is easy to accidentally click on.I don't want to see any routes created by anyone else, ever. Stop forcing other people's garbage routes down my throat. I don't care about someone else's personal running route, dog walking route, etc. I'm not going to set a time or compete against anyone on it, ever. All I want to do on the map is look at the map and maybe overlay my heat map data. That's it. 

Hi I cannot see any of my latest maps on strava iPhone app. It is fully updated but still not working 

Dear community,I am hoping that someone can help resolve  an issue that has taken on epic proportions. An OVERLY competitive/drama queen in my cycling group got one of her rides flagged by someone (she got many QOM's on that ride).  She now suspects some girls in our group (including me). I could not care less about QOM's and did not flag her ride. I LOVE the group and just want to set the record straight. Is there anything I can do to prove that I played no part in this whole fiasco? Thank you!

I am wondering why the best efforts page for an running activity is showing speed as in km/h instead of Pace as it used to. Am I missing something from the settings or it's just how it is now. Also is there anyway to revert that (invert that), because it is a lot of work if I have to pull out a calculator every time to get an accurate pace for my best efforts. 

Last year all my ebike rides showed up as rides in the personal heatmap.Now, many of these ebike rides no longer show up as rides (I can see them if I click on all sports though). Some ebike rides Do show up as rides though.I selected one particular ebike ride that no longer shows, changed its activity to 'ride' and it showed up. I then changed it back to 'ebike ride' and it disappeared again.I cannot work out what is different between those that show and those that don't.Besides, this was all working fine last year when I checked the feature.Has something changed? Is there anything I can do / check please?I love this feature as I'm trying to connect up all my rides across the UK.

After creating a new segment, initially it appears that I am the only person in the ranking. I suggest there is a message within the UI of the rankings, such as "New Segment Leaderboard. History building in progress. Estimated completion: X hours."

Hi everybodyI'm planing a route that takes me across a small fjord with a ferry. Is it possible to add a new waypoint on the other side of the fjord? When I do it now, the route is just backtracking making it twice as long:) 

I ride and help maintain our local riding area called Moon Lake. Some trails have been rerouted over the years and new segments are randomly created by someone.  The most recent took a short section of a long trail and someone created a segment called Black Lives Matter. It messes with all of our stats and if there is a new rider from out of the area, it is impossible to follow the map.  is there anything that i can do? Can we wipe it out and start fresh by riding all of the trails? How can i stop random people from changing it all the time?

When recording a ride, my screen cycles through different metrics.  I want to stay n same screen = time, speed and distance. Where is this setting option?  Thanks

I have strange issue with my personal heatmap it looks OK on the map but when I try to plan route Strava shows me heatmap which is quite outdated (it looks like my personal heatmap from year ago or more)

Hi, new to forum but been using the App for a while.Always use with setting in miles, until today app reads distance in miles during an activity and saves and displays in miles.Today it's showing distance travelled in km during the activity but when saved reads in miles like before.Have toggled the option for miles or km on and off a couple of times, no difference to the result.I'm just using the app standalone not linked to any other devices.Any suggestions for a fix welcome.Cheers in advance.H. 

Hello,I would like to comment on Strava's algorithm for hiding segments. From what I understand it's based, among other things, on how often the segment is viewed. This unfortunately leads to bad climbing segments being promoted over good ones for two reasons:1)Longer segments are more likely to be clicked on because users want to see "the whole thing". Unfortunately this means that segments that starts too early (before crossroads etc.) or finish too late (after the summit) are more likely to be clicked on that better ones (containing the whole climb).2)Segments that start too early and end too late are more likely to generate top10 places because of two reasons: fewer people do them and a lot of people stop at the top before the descent. This means those bad segments are going to be clicked on more often because people get top 10 places on them.This is frustrating because perfect segments (those that start at the beginning of the climb af

I've created two group challenges starting next week, but now can't find them anywhere on the app or the website to check accepted invites, or make changes.Also I'd love to be able to associate a challenge with a club I'm an admin of rather than inviting all its members individually.
