I’d like to see more attention paid to managing cycling gear, especially the historic categorization and usage monitoring for components carried over from bike to bike. Currently, there’s no way to transfer an any component from one bike to another to continue mileage and use case tracking.  For example, using all the existing components from a “current bike” and moving them to a new frameset.  Another example would be using multiple chains in rotation, in particular, waxed chains.  Right now, there can only be 1 iteration of a component linked to a “current bike”.The only option is to create a new ”Bike” and monitor its progress from there. Additionally, the starting date of a component can’t be retroactively set, leaving little to no options for reusing parts from one bike to another.From what I understand, a components “starting date” could be useful here.  I cannot be the only person who re-uses parts across bikes.

The global heatmap is not loading for me on android when I click. I have to reinstall the app to make it appear.

Hi Strava!  Not saying that the ‘See this Place’ pictures aren’t helpful for some, but I find them to be very inconvenient / distracting.  I LOVE the Strava Heatmap, it’s how I plan out so many of my runs, and I enjoy looking back and seeing how much terrain I’ve conquered on feet!  But having giant unasked for pictures really puts a damper on it.Is there a way you could create an option to toggle this on/off?  That way, folks that enjoy the feature can keep using it, but the rest of us have a cleaner option :) Your #1 fan,Max

I have linked my Mahle powered Ribble gravel e-bike to Strava using the Mahle App but can’t figure out what that actually does.I was expecting it to automatically start and stop the recording of my rides on Strava but obviously not…….or I haven’t set it up correctly.Any help for a new user would be much appreciated.Rod

Hello there, I’ve created an app for my analytics web application and I’ve managed to connect and use it successfully. I’m now trying to get the `device_name` from the `GET /athlete/activities` endpoint but I saw that the model returned does not contain it.In order to get that info I could do a single `GET /activities/{id}` for each activity found in the former, but in doing so I would burn a lot of resources on your end and deplete my hourly/daily limits. Is there another way of getting the device name?Thank you

This has always been the case that only very few people show up on the heatmap with their ebike activities. Whether it’s ebike or e-mountainbike activity classification. The map is practically empty with no traces for ebike activites. I can see my personal ebike traces from My Heatmap option but none of them show up on the Global Heatmap for the ebike options. By now there are hundreds of emountainbikers on Strava in this area but I only see the traces of a handful of riders on the Global Heatmap. It’s practically empty when switching over to ebike activites.

- "You" - "Progress" At the top, I'd like to suggest that adding a metric directly conveying recent progress - 1D/1W/1M averages or Last 3 / 1W / 1M averages Ex:X Time (mins.) / mi. (Over all 3 in a grid or graph)X Total (mis.) (Over all 3) - "You" - "Activities" Add the same filter buttons for your activities (that are on the "Progress" tab).  Ex.ALL,  Run, Ride  Just subscribed to the trial. I get that Strava wants to promote new features, but this constant pushing out the new features on top and pushing of the old features down in the Home tab and You tab is something that I find frustrating! There are more and more features, which is good, but the app quickly loses simplicity and becomes less usable.What I mean is that there is now a new area on the top of the feed that shows me the streak.OK, I've got a 481 week streak, which I was perfectly happy not knowing about before. I know that I am never going to skip a week, so this whole streak thing is kind of pointless to me. I am not interested whatsoever in this feature, so having it in my face every time I use the app is annoying. What I really want to see and use all the time is my training log, and that is now buried deep inside the You tab because there are a lot of things on top of it that I don't care about - the streak thing, performance predictions, goals, etc.There should be a way to let me prioritize or reorder t

Hey, i got come from my ride an hour or so ago and my activity has been stuck on “processing activity” since then. I did a small run afterwards to test it and that appeared however my ride is not processing is there a fix for this?thanks in advance!

One of my analysis on my own training is to look at my ride map and view it in power zones based on my selected FTP/Vo2max, when I look at power and heart rate in general its very difficult to see the strain on the effort, on my own Api I have done this at the top of the picture you can see the the power zone for each and including the FTP calculated, I have other options to filter segments and laps, also the time aggregated average so bunch the wattage every 20 seconds,30, 60, 2 minutes, thats what the sliders alow you to adjust

I have loads of routes but when I click on one via the mobile app, you can’t work out which route is yours because the map shows all routes in the area. I can’t work out how to turn that off. Photo above of my 18km run route amidst all the others

Hello With the release of version 421.8 I've got my navigation map about 1/3 covered with popup screens which I have no use for while e.g. hiking, and which are not possible to hide. This prevents me of having a good overview over the surrounding terrain while moving. In the previous version the distance, avg speed was on another collapsed screen which I had no need for to see constantly. This new feature on version 421.8 is very annoying to me. Planning to quit subscription threfor and switch to Komoot which is more suitable for hikers... 😬

Hi Strava Support,I recently discovered the gear tracking feature and added my bike to my account. I set the gear's start date to a point in the past (when I actually started using it), but I noticed that Strava only begins counting kilometers from the date I added the gear — not from the backdated start date I selected.At the time I started using the bike, I wasn’t aware of the gear feature. It would be very helpful if Strava could retroactively assign past activities to gear based on the chosen start date.Is there a way to apply gear to past activities automatically based on that date, or is manual editing the only option?Thanks in advance!Best regards,Boštjan

Hello, until recently it was possible to show (personal and/or global) heatmaps in the "Maps" and "Record" Mode in the Android App by selecting them in the layer-filter. This selection is still possible, but: although selected, the heatmaps are just not shown in the map! It's broken just for me? Or is that a new bug? Is there any way else to see heatmaps in the Android App apart from viewing a finished activity? (Whichs trace obstructs the heatmap...🙄)Thanks!

I have the 51mm version of the Fenix 8 Solar Sapphire and have noticed an odd discrepancy in the device naming convention. Every activity I have seen from someone with the 47mm version of the F8 Solar Sapphire has their device type listed as “Garmin fenix 8 Solar Sapphire” while those with the 51mm of the same watch has their device type listed as “Garmin fenix 8 Solar” without the Sapphire showing in the name (despite it being a sapphire watch face.) Is there a reason for this discrepancy when they are otherwise the same watch? 

There are three items within our running/cycling group that have really been chafing us: I’m not sure how to completely describe this but I’ll give it a go - across the top of the map, a “layer” of buttons was added whereby you can “Upload GPX”, “Reverse Route”, Redo/Undo, Trash, Display Heatmaps, and Display segments, etc. A large number of the phantom “distance jumps”  -and- “Red Box - Sorry We Couldn’t complete...” errors are due to this layer interfering with dropping a waypoint.  Any time a waypoint is added on the top 15-20% of the map, it registers a waypoint was added but fails to formally assign it to a location as this “layer” seems to interfere.  As the mouse moves, the waypoint sticks to the cursor and causes all kinds of havoc because it can’t actually place the waypoint.  If you are re-routing, this same issue causes a secondary problem because it will also plot the “finish flag” in the same location once it finally can find a suitable location. I have a problem with sharing stats on strava (transparent background). My run pace was 7:13min/km but when I want to share the run then it shows that my pace was 2:00min/km. What’s wrong with that? And how do I fix it?

I have seen several people raise concerns about integrity of Segment leaderboards, mostly due to the wrong Activity type (using an E-bike on a "ride" or a bike on a "run") or leaving Strava running at the end of an Activity and hence recording a subsequent car journey. For what it's worth, here's my approach to trying to help maintain Segment integrity in my area.  In the last 5 years I have attempted about 6200 bike Segments, all within a few miles of where I live.  I use the excellent VeloViewer companion for Strava which allows me to get lists of all my Activities and Segment efforts.  It allows me to export data to a spreadsheet and so I can have a spreadsheet of all the Segments I have attempted, complete with my leaderboard position, best time, KOM time, etc.  Generally the Segment data is very good with very few suspect KOMs.  Roughly once per week I download the data to a spreadsheet and do a comparison with equivalent data from the week before, in part

Hi,I was able to get the group events using the https://www.strava.com/api/v3/clubs/{id}/group_events call, but is there a possibility to only get the upcoming group events? Now all group events ever made are getting listed, but that’s not really what I need.Honestly I can’t find anything in the documentation about this REST API call. I wish to have my profile location set as Edinburgh, Scotland, however regardless of what I do in edit profile (app or website) United Kingdom is always added to the end of my location. Any suggestions on how I resolve?
