Why is there no option to hide the device used to record the activity?

Hello,I try to identify what is the “external provider” of activities.We have a field called external_id, but it can contain a “.tcx” file name.I can identify the Garmin activities because the external_id starts with : “garmin_ping_xxx”But for other providers like Polar or Fitbit we only have a TCX filename.How to get the real external provider name ? (A code or id would be better of course)Bonus question: Is there an official list of all providers supported by Strava ?Regards.Thanks. COil. Related posts :   

After a recent update, the km markers during an active recording disappeared.  I would love to have these back and go so far as to have them after the activity has been saved.

I would like to make a complaint about the new change on the home feed where each individuals watch is shown. I don't understand why this is needed and it's extra useless info to see on the home news feed. Its good that it's visible when you click on the individual activity but I don't need to see everyone's watch brand on the news feed. What next? Will it also display the HRM brand, shoe brand and anything else on the home screen. This clutters the news feed and is not needed

My latest ride (on 10/25) recorded last week’s date (10/19). Is there a way I can manually change the recorded date? Thank you.

Hello,When I want to create a recurring club event, I set the Recurring to 4 weeks (Repeat every: 4 weeks), I click “Save Club Event”, but the event is not repeating. I have a galaxy ultra watch to record runs. The strava app DOES NOT record cadence (there’s a problem on it’s own), so I have to use the s-health app to record, then let that sync over. Sorry, I meant to say I have to use a third party app to force the sync since if it’s a treadmill workout with no gps info, it won’t do it. (another problem)Now that it’s over in strava, I want to edit the length of the workout to my actual run so I can track my training. I can edit everything but distance and time. WHY?!?! Why are you locking me out of my own training? To what avail?

I'm using Python to return the "explore segments" query and would like to know how the top-10 segments are chosen.For example, in the Developers Playground it says that the GET explore segments, "returns the top 10 segments matching a specified query". How is "top-10" defined? Is it using the most popular segments in the geography boundary to search or some other designation?How can I view all and not just the top-10 segments?Also am I able to search for a segment using the detail that gets returned in the query instead i.e., distance, avg. grade, elevation gain, etc.? The query is very limited when just being able to search based on "the latitude and longitude for two points describing a rectangular boundary" and the "activity type" especially when I'm searching for a run segment so the climbing category is not relevant.Thanks!

I was using the Galaxy Watch7 with OneUI 7 Watch for my runs. There was some discrepancy in the distance when the running workout was sent to Strava, but it was a small discrepancy. For example:Samsung Health distance: 5.00 kmStrava distance: 5.03 kmOn Tuesday, I updated the watch to OneUI 8 Watch, and today, when I went for a run, there was a much larger discrepancy than I was used to.Samsung Health distance: 5.03 kmStrava distance: 4.78 kmHas anyone else experienced this issue or have any tips for calibrating and adjusting the GPS to minimize this discrepancy?Thank you

with the new version of strava - while on a run, the screen defaults to map view with key HR, pace and distance all minimised at the bottom of the screen, making it impossible to read while on the move. is there a setting change i have to make? haven’t found one so far!!! so annoying.

I completed the Niagara Falls Half Marathon today but Strava logged it as 21.08km which is extremely depressing. “Correcting” the distance doesn’t fix the 20m discrepancy. Is there anything I can do to fix this. I would hate to not get the Half Marathon PB on Strava due to this…. 

Hi,After the 30-day trial version, I purchased Strava Pro on October 24 for 12 months, and it's visible in my Apple subscriptions.However, I get a notification in the Strava app saying that my trial version has ended and that I can only use limited functionality.What can I do?

When I use my camera during recording my activity (cycling, walking), the app stops recording. Giving the message Strava stopped, continue or leave app.When I choose continue, the recording starts again. When I miss this message a part of the route is not recorded. I use a Samsung A23 phone.The app is updated to the latest version.Does someone know a solution to this problem?

After entering the event details - route, title, date, etc. and clicking save, all fields default to blank and I’m unable to proceed.

Hello,Since the beginning of the week, I no longer have all the activity data being recorded. I only get the time and distance. The route map, split data, elevation, and several other metrics are missing.I don’t recall changing any settings, and I can’t figure out how to display everything again.I deleted and re-downloaded the app. I reset my network settings and restarted my iPhone several times. The issue still persists.It seems that, for some unknown reason, all my activities are being recorded as indoor workouts. Even when I disable indoor mode, the activity details don’t come back.I don’t experience this issue with Nike Run Club. I use Strava on my iPhone 17, last os version.

Hi I am a subscriber i use iphone 16 pro with ios  18.7.1 I only get one transparent sticker while my friend get  4  other optionhow can i fix this problem I did delete the app and re download it is still the same .thank you 

When I try to tag someone in reply to my activities , the @ thing brings nothing up or if it does, then it very rarely it shows the name. I have been having this problem for the last one month or so. Quite frustrating...

I have not changed any settings in Strava, Garmin or Trail Forks in several months but last week started seeing an upload from Garmin Connect and one connected to Trail Forks.  Now the double feed isn’t occurring, and Trail Forks has replaced the direct Garmin Connect feed.   Any idea why this is happening and will it impact Strava in anyway other than Trail Forks automatically populates the ride description and has a link to trail forks activity?

Hi, I have a samsung galaxy watch 5 which I use for trainings swimming and running. I've recently used strava for my activities but swtiched to samsung health a few weeks back. Although I have synced strava on samsung health, whenever I finish a workout on samsung health, it does not upload to strava.   Anybody with the same problem as me?   Thanks for the help
