Turning off the new pop-up prompts to edit title / share activity?

Hi, the latest updates of the iOS app have some added automation which seems to try to be helpful, but, please, how can I disable that? 😬First - making a screenshot of activity details triggers a sharing screen (where you can save an image of the map or the activity photo with stats). I understand it might make sense in some use cases, but if I'm taking a screenshot of the splits, elevation graph or pretty much anything in the activity details, I really do not want the sharing screen to pop up and hide the details that I want to capture. Second - once opening a newly imported activity, a "quick edit" dialogue pops up immediately prompting to rename the activity etc. But it's too simplified and doesn't include all the options (such as: shoes), so I always just close it and open the actual Edit mode. The "quick edit" is just a distracting and frustrating step. If anything needs to be automated this way, then perhaps why not opening the newly imported activity in the Edit mod

New way of displaying segments

It seems Strava have been slowly sidelining the segments over the last few updates. The latest update has led to no specific segment link and no indication of Local Legend. Personally, this was the only feature that made Strava better than others. Without it, the app loses value for me. What do others think?

Geotagged image thumbnails not showing up on activity maps

Over the past two+ weeks (during July 2024) I've uploaded many geotagged pics, using the Strava app on a Samsung S23 (Android) device, and when viewing the event maps via browser-on-desktop, the image thumbnails do not show up on the maps. Please note that the images in question were taken hundred of miles from my residence and so were nowhere close to a "hidden portion of the activity".

Every time I touch the map of my daily activity the screen jumps to me upgrading.  If this continues, I’m out. You think there’s not a hundred activity trackers?Strava is brutal with the popups. I pay $99/year!F#ck-off Already. I can’t even tap the map without a pop-up. Every single time. If it doesn’t stop, Now! I will delete and tell everyone that asks not to bother with Strava. Holy Bullshit!I certainly don’t need to pay for this complete malfunction. I can’t even tap or even use the map. I’m constantly backing up and trying again to move the map, or expand it. And again. Brutal.

Issues with GPX activities syncing to Strava and Samsung Health.

I have issues with GPX activities syncing to Strava and Samsung Health.I use import from Alltrails GPX file, I used https://gotoes.org for timestamp to sort out the GPX file timestamp into this website, download, reupload to Strava.I did this morning and afternoon. I wait for fewer hours for syncing to Samsung Health.It's nothing yet, no activity from Strava of the GPX file. Samsung Health to Strava is working again, and I walked yesterday and today.I have included screenshots of service to Strava, to the Samsung Health app, all my activities on Samsung Health and Strava.

Runna workout titles not uploading

Pretty much what the title says, I use Runna for training plans but when the run uploads to Strava it just comes up with '[time of day] run' and no description although the workout metrics picture does upload.I launch the workouts via my Garmin any idea what might be going wrong?

Flybys timing out by hours, like its a time zone thing..

My time compared to others in flybys seems to be out by hours. I know I have followed or passed people, but in fly bys I complete missed them, bu hours. Also when I start playing a ride, I can see the paths of other users in their colour, but they don't show up until the end of my ride. Its like we are on different timezones, but across multiple computers I am on the right time zone for where I live, unless Strava has its own way to setting a time zone..Any ideas?

[Known Issue] iOS App doesn't label peaks on maps

Recently I’ve noticed my iPhone Strava app no longer labels peaks on any maps. I try POI layer on vs. off, 2D vs. 3D, Hybrid/Satellite vs. standard, the Maps tab at the bottom vs. activity maps. Anyone else experiencing this too? What happened?

Very bad accuracy all the time and everytime. Strava or iPhone fault?

Hello,I record my MTB rides on Strava with an iPhone 12 Pro Max. I made half a dozen print screens so that you can, if you know and/or want, answer one or two questions.The blue line was the path I took and drew after the fact by hand. The red lines are those recorded by Strava.It's like this all the time in every bike rides. Guys with iPhones, is this normal to happen?Guys who have Garmins, does this happen to you too?Regardless of whether I'm in open field, near trees or buildings. It happens everywhere, all the time and every ride.Thank you in advance. With the iPhone 5 I could even see which side of the trails I had passed through. With the iPhone X it started to get worse and now with the iPhone 12 Pro Max, since 2020, it's been a misery. It's the same with the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Uploading activities from Garmin

Biting the bullet I’m laboriously uploading all my Garmin activity data from 2012 to 2020.  After around 4 uploads of 20 files each (to keep under the 25 limit) I can't upload any more, as I have reached my limit according to Strava (try again later!).  Is there also a daily limit as well as the 25 limit per upload?Is there some other way to do this?Any ideas, feedback appreciated!

Tired connecting and reconnecting Samaung health to strava

I’ve uninstalled reinstalled Strava. Gave permission to both Samsung Health and Strava to talk to each other for the last week. I clear the cache too. I have premium that I pay for too. But fro the strava side it says there is a connection error

Can't change authentication scope

(I’ve read the relevant posts on here but did not find the answers I seek there)Hi all,New to oauth2, building an app that needs to read activity data from Strava. For this, I need activity:read in my permission scope. However, I can only get the “read” scope despite choosing scope arg as “activity:read” or “read, activity:read”. I can see that the token generated only has “read” permission on the API app dashboard on my profile, and I also see an authorization error when I invoke the read activities API. How to get all segments from a Route in the API?

Hello all,  In our cotacol (Belgian) app, we are leveraging Strava Segments so our members can "collect" different hills in Belgium.  Those hills match one:one with a Strava Segment.  Now, I am building a functionality, so that users can select one of their Routes and get to see which of the 1000 segments that would be conquored with that Route... However, just like the default behavior with an activity, it seems not all the routes are returned in the response for a Strava Route.  And I am wondering if there is a similar query string parameter we can use, to indicate we need all segments in the response.  (just like include_all_efforts with the GetActivity operation). What I am doing now:  - GET /routes/{routeId} This only returns a subset of the segments in the payload.

Hello guysI got a new idea for a new feature on the strava map, i think it would be great to have a map where you can see all the segments you got, and which one you are nr. 2 or 3 or top 10. It would make it more funny and easy to see your own segments on strava. Thank you.-Mattias Rokkjær

Antiquated and painfully inappropriate limits on users downloading their own data

Isn’t it ridiculous that a long-established site worth billions of dollars takes of the order of a day to provide a gigabyte or so of user data, requiring several continuations separated by several hours (because of outdated data limits), when this is needed?Time to upgrade the service: allow download of all activities for a user in one go, efficiently, with some reasonable limits on how frequently it is done if that is deemed necessary (to avoid excess use without benefit). The weird thing is, even a limit to one complete download a day would not actually be more restrictive than what already exists in terms of bandwidth - it would just mean that users get done in minutes what currently takes days.

Android apps cant handle strava.app.com deeplinks

Hi Trleam Strava and fellow users. I recently noticed that when my groups are sharing any links to activities and group ride events, I cann not open them.This is how it happens— tap on link in chat. (https://strava.app.link/POST_ID) — opens strava app for a moment, with black/white screen. Nothing happens. — immediately in next moment I am back on chat or source screen with a Toast error message saying "not a valid strava link". Addding screenshot for reference.Does anyone else has same issue? As a mobile developer expert all I can say is this a case a poor Deeplink handling. And it seems that, all these links are shared from iPhones while Android links are huge and not shortened. Please fix this Strava! LINK Format : https://strava.app.link/POST_IDfigure widget

Alternative 2FA

Would be really nice to have one time passwords and/or passkeys as an alternative to the email codes.  it's great we have 2FA now and with the support of a number of password managers the flow could be a lot simpler, for me at least. The difference is probably in the order of 5-10 seconds instead of 0. Could run a little experiment to see if it helps user retention better as well :)

why i have two api app with same clientId, and cant remove one of them, it confuse me bcs sometimes the app that shows in dashboard is the first one sometimes the other

401 error - Acces token invalid while valid?

Relatively new to this, so hopefully an easy mistake to fix: I am trying to set up an API connection so I can fetch my own data from Strava and import it to Excel. I am following the usual set-up as described here : https://developers.strava.com/docs/getting-started/#oauthAlthough I have tried the final authorization time and time again, it keeps saying my acces token is invalid. I have followed the steps multiple times. The token is not expired either, but it keeps giving me errors. I have checked step C4 and C5 in Postman. That does not give me errors. But when attempting D10/D11, I get either 404 errors (although im sure my website is correct) or 401 errors. I also notice that my acces token in step C4/C5 differs from the oneAny idea’s on how to solve this?

No GPS and speed data in Multisport Workout

My Apple Watch multi sport workout doesn’t contain any GPS, distance and speed data when imported to Strava. Even changing the workout type to Ride (it’s just workout initially), this data doesn’t come up. While multi sport support was always bad, my last triathlons still contained the data (just showed up as one continuous workout see here for a thread on the problem https://communityhub.strava.com/t5/strava-features-chat/apple-multisport-activities-showing-up-as-1-activity/m-p/34241#M6330) It appears that sometime in the last months Strava changed to the worse by actively excluding any distance, speed and GPS data from Apple multisport and there is no sensible workaround afaik.
