I would like to start syncing my rides from my Garmin 1040 to Strava. Currently I’m using Apple health but would prefer to use the data from my Garmin device.Last time I tried this, every ride I’d done in the past got synced and I ended up with hundreds of historic duplicates and a horrible mess to sort out in my Strava account. How can I set up syncing so that only future rides get synced from Garmin to Strava and not historic ones?

Strava winter map overlay generally shows correctly nordic/cross country trails by parsing the piste:type=nordic from the way regardless of whether it is a dedicated nordic:piste or if it is a nordic trail that goes along a road/trail (e.g. highway=track, highway=path).  However, if the piste:type=nordic is on a way tagged highway=footway the trail is not indicated as a nordic trail on strava heatmap. My Strava never seems to record my calories when I do SUP sessions, I have my weight, gender and DOB recorded in the app. I do get the following information:-DistanceElapsed TimeMax Heart RateAvg SpeedAvg Heart Rate any help appreciated thanks

Activity data not automatically importing to Strava. A message saying that there was a failure is shown when trying to import manually.All settings and permissions are right, wondering if there is a bigger problem happening.

Hi,I’m using an Apple Watch to track my workouts. The app only analyses calories burnt for running and walking. It doesn’t show calories burnt for weight training/ HIIT or pilates. I noticed my friends calories burnt are being shown. I’ve put in my weight in the app and I downloaded new updates on my phone and watch. Is there something I’m missing? I’d appreciate any help thank youM

I’ve no doubt this has been raised before but does anyone actually prefer to see moving pace by default over elapsed pace which was always default? I don’t want to set all my runs to ‘races’ just to see this. I don’t want to have to look into the data for a run to see overall elapsed pace and showing moving pace on feed gives a false impression of performance. 

Just until a couple of days ago, there was a workout summary in the activity page. If I had a workout programmed, it showed the running laps in a bar graph. Is this coming back or is it only for subscription users now?

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a Pixel 9 Pro phone and a Pixel 3 watch. My issue is that, if I start a run on my watch, I don't get the audio updates of how far I've run (which I fine very useful and motivating) and, if I start a run on my phone, I get them but then my heart rate isn't accessible for that activity. It just says "Start training with a heart rate monitor" as in the screenshot attached. My watch shows my heart rate and Fitbit app shows it so I don't know why the Strava app won't import this data. Please help and thanks in advance.

You know what’s worse than criticism? Insincere feedback. ‘ progress is a marathon’, ‘ well done’ , ‘ strong effort’ . I just ran for 10 mins lol

I would like to suggest a new activity. As an avid mountain biker I also spend time doing trail building and maintenance. It is an activity that I think if Strava added would help give incentive for others to participate. It is also one heck of a workout.

When recording a ride, I want the blue line moving UP the screen and the arrowhead centred on my screen. I can sometimes fluke this by messing with the bottom of the 3 icons (direction icon?) but usually it just changes from across the screen one way to the other way, but i want it to go up, and turn the map as I turn corners. There’s a simple answer but I don’t know what it is! Help please

I can't seems to sync cadence from my Mi fitness app to Strava even though every other data seems all fine, what can be the reason and how can I resolve this?

If I refresh when looking at the monthly activities, the language of the type of activity (i.e run, walk etc) often change to another language. I have English as the language on my phone, and the rest of the app is in English, but when refreshing this page I have seen French, Spanish, German, and some languages I do not know which were. It is totally random and sometimes all of the activity type names change and sometimes not, see screenshots.

Hello,In the newest app update there is a missing heatmap layer option.Currently it looks like here  but in the past (even 2 weeks ago) there was an option like below (currently working only on segments but not activity...)   Could that option be restored? Thank you 

Hello all!Is it only me or it’s currently not possible to a website to the Clubs profile/settings?Recently, I have noticed that the website which was set in the Strava Club’s settings disappeared. I tried to add it to the Website section in the Settings, but after hitting the “Save changes” button, the website is simply not added. If I return to the club’s settings, the Website sections is empty again. Is there anything special I need to do to get it work? I am using a valid URL including https://Thank you in advance! 

Not sure when this started, but I noticed that whenever my app would POST details to the /activities API endpoint, I’d get an error saying the description was invalid.I eventually found that the cause was that I was adding my app’s domain to the end of the description (e.g. Workout by StrideOn.run). Removing the .run portion fixed the issue.This has previously worked for years, so it might be related to Strava’s recent updates regarding links.Even if you’re not specifically adding a domain name in the description, this error could happen if Strava thinks that it is or if it’s user-generated and contains what appears to be a link.

Hi all,          I'm a long time cyclists but new to the world of power meters. I recently bought a new bike with with a power meter, l have read a couple of forums about the difference in average power readings between Garmin and Strava. I have played around with auto- pause settings etc without success. Currently having a difference of around of around 30watts? 

I can't stand this problem anymore.I've already tried following some recommendations, but nothing helps.(1) I've already tried putting it on airplane mode to run(2) I already downloaded the GPS tool app that has a compass, reset it and downloaded the GPS again, calibrated it.(3) I've already tried disabling precision mode on the GPS.(4) I have already tried to disable GPS functions via bluetooth and wifi.I don't know what to do anymore! My phone is a google pixel 5

Dear Strava,I posted this previously last week and, instead of getting a reply, it appears to have been re-posted as a reply to your own thread - with no answer to my question. So, again:The loss of FATMAP has led to me having to pay a more expensive subscription to Strava.  However, the promise of a transition to FATMAP features in Strava is not happening.  The main items I have used extensively in the past and find most helpful are navigation and mountain-user features such as National topographic map layers for UK and EU countries, avalanche forecast, and slope angle/aspect layers, as well as waypoints.  There is no sign of any of these yet - do you have an expected date for the return of these?If this will not be re-introduced within the year, I would like to close my account with a full refund.Many thanks,Matt

Can I manually put in my treadmill runs? 

I searched all topics related to segments not working…my issue seems to be unique. For the past week or so, every time I select a segment, name it, then click, “Create” button, the next page I see says: Strava is temporarily unavailableWe hit a road block, but our team is working on an alternate route.Check Strava Status for more information. Thanks for your patience Strava Status seems to indicate there are no issues. I’ve had this issue for more than a week, tried hundreds of times….   Is there a known issue with segments currently?
