Strava Features Chat

I created a new route in route builder but once I finalized the route the button you would normally click on to save the route ("save route") is still in gray and not clickable. I've created hundreds of routes before and never ran into this. Any ideas? See pic below for reference. You can see that there is a start and end point so I have no idea why it's not letting me save the route.

Hi Strava Team,I’d like to suggest adding new gear option in profile to track the wear out and replacement of essential bike parts like chain and cassette. E.g. Chain : 2k miles (max) Cassette : 10k miles (max)  Once the profile reaches this threshold, a message is displayed on user profile to replace the parts just like shoes feature. Note: User can have two or more bikes so there needs to be an association of each component to specific bike.  UI would be straightforward, for backend, you can have new sub gear table (chain, cassette) with foreign key association to existing gear table (bikes).  Best,Adi

I set my “ASICS Novablast 5 TR”, as default for running, but today I saw no gear associated with my run, so wanted to set these Novablast 5 TR for today’s run but it has disappeared from my gear list. It is not in the retired section, it seems it has been deleted. I never deleted it myself, so how can I get it back with a proper running distance ?

On “My route” page.I was trying to filter some of mine when i see this.I think i dont have to see “strava.activities.show_public.distance/elevation” string 😁.

When I view the 3D animation of  activities in Strava ,the POIs were normal,but when I shared the flyover to instagram,the POIs disappeared.I have set all the settings about privacy to everyone.Can anyone help me?

The virtual segment Aple du Zwift doesn’t show the correct data. The distance of 12,17 km seems to be correct but the elevation (729m) and the grade (-0,8%) are totally wrong. At the moment, this is a downhill segment. 😄 But elevation should be around 1.000 meters and the grade is 8.5%. The elevation profile is also absolutely wrong.Who can fix this? 

I apologize if this has been asked before but this notification is downright useless and distracting. I get it every Monday morning and it’s been annoying for a while. I’m not sure which category it falls under. Unfortunately, I have already dismissed it this week so cannot quote the exact message but in my notifications list I see this “You kept it consistent this week. Kudos to you! Tap to see your Relative Effort score, and keep it up this week”. Would it be under the Progress Completion category? Does anybody know?Thank you!!!

So since I did Manchester marathon a few weeks ago I've noticed every activity that uploads no longer has a map showing under it. It just shows the run and basic details but there is never a map to view either on the summary screen or when I go into the activity.   Everyone else's maps appear as normal on my feed but just not mine, I've checked all settings and can't see anything obvious and I certainly haven't changed anything and in the past the naps have always been there. Any ideas ?? 

I record my walk as a run on my watch as it doesn’t have a walk option. When I have finished it I change it to a walk on my phone. I just noticed that it is being added to my run total for the week in my club that records runs so I have moved up on the list but I have only walked and not run today. I have deleted the walk activity but it is still showing the extra miles on the club stats board. I don’t want people thinking I am cheating as someone in the group has been saying mean things about me so I’m worried they will say I did this on purpose. 

It is good to see that Strava is taking steps to reduce this the abuse of ebike riders dominating leader boards - primarily for older rider categories (in my subjective observation). I know a number of these riders and AI and other automated techniques are indeed having a good impact, but by no means solving the problem. An equally powerful way would be to place emphasis on riders - Every top 10 rider on every leaderboard age category needs to consciously confirm that they are NOT using an eBike (for example, A pop-up notice requirement would require a confirmation before saving the activity). My guess is that many riders simply forget to list as an eBike ride, but there are many that simply abuse the system. Requiring them to formally state that they are NOT using an eBike, is a powerful psychological driver. Also, once this is done, peer pressure would take place given that any mis-classified ride would then be intentional - Currently it is too easy to say “OH, I forgot”, or “I wa

I forgot to turn off the Garmin after a 3 mile walk. Due to inaccuracies the GPS still records distance over time, even though the watch was sitting on my desk, so after 11 hours it gave me an  18 mile distance total. I knew how to trim the invalid distance off my log record, but the activity still shows a ribbon for my longest walk, which is not correct, my longest walk was 12 miles two years ago. I don’t know where to look for records of my longest distances or how to correct that it has the invalid 18 miles as my longest walk. I realize that it could be that it just takes time for the corrected data to automatically change what is my longest distance, so maybe this will fix itself.

After completing an activity, in the past you could go to the Results-Segments list and see all the segments completed; where you could then click on a segment and see it highlight on the map, not just show the individual segment by itself on its own map view.  How can you see the segment highlighted within the full activity map?  The goal is to be able to see exactly where the segment lies within the whole map of the ride/run activity you completed?  Showing you only that segment view by itself doesn’t do much good in trying to see where it was within your activity.  It looks like Strava swapped this out at the same time that added “Best Efforts”, where you don’t need a best effort list on a ride where each route is different and best effort means very little.  

Quick question: when manually adding an activity, do I enter my moving time or the elapsed time?It’s a swim activity (not a race).Thanks!

It’s killing me I can’t find all my activities there. Why would you only show certain activity types? I for ex do a lot of rock climbing / mountaineering and the routes are so important and helpful but I can filter those. It does show up if I go to one of my previous activities so the functionality is certainly there. A view all filter would help tremendously too. I just want to know where people are going through the most and the trail that makes more sense I don’t care if they saved it as a hike, trail run or whatever. 

I know the mileage on a bike trail I ride weekly.  After I stop the ride and look at the miles and time it is OK.  When I save the activity the mileage is wrong, the time is correct.  What can I do to solve this? thanks

Every time I go and save the map of a ride its different.. It use to be great, a simple map with the required details, then half the map was getting cut off, now a stupid gradient and text over the top of it.. Why cant you just leave a perfectly working feature alone, and not screw it up?

In the image the Surface Type information next to estimated moving time shows 100% not specified while  in the elevation profile map it's about 50% dirt, 50% not specified. Browser is Safari 17.6. 

My weekly summary for cycling shows hours instead of miles and I cannot see how to change this. My indoor rides calculate miles so that shouldn’t be an issue. and I want that metric instead of hours- any help appreciated as I’ve searched and asked the chatbot!

We have a challenge at work where people compete in teams of 5. We have 100 people who has signed up, so we need to create 20 different teams.  But when I came to create the 11th club, I got the error on my phone and online on PC:“Something went wrong. Looks like this isn’t working. Please try again later” I can’t find any documentation that there will be a limit/max of how many clubs I can create. Any that have similar experience or am I just experiencing a bug?  

I have recently rejoined Strava community and trying out first month with a subscription.  Does anyone else out here feels the watch app could do a lot more than what it does how. For example, saved routes / to start routes can only be done with the mobile device. I dislike carrying my phone for any run and would love to have this feature on watch app alone, but it doesn’t.  In this case, I recorded the run in both devices and Strava couldn’t even figure out it was same workout and saved both thus causing data error when I deleted one of it.  Is Strava looking to make this feature more robust? Would love to hear anyone else’s experience.  Thanks! 

HELP! I changed some setting(s) in Strava, and now instead of my actual Distance and Pace showing, I see  0.00 and 0S/mi. I use the Strava app on my iWatch and my iPhone. When I start Strava on my watch to record my run, it stays at all zeros for average pace and miles during the run and when I finish. It appears that these are being recorded, simply not displaying on my iWatch, iPhone app, or Strava's website. I've attached screenshots showing what I am seeing on my dashboard now and earlier before I changed the settings (security? privacy?). I'd like to see my pace and distance while I am running, as well as on my dashboard after my run. I compared my settings with my wife's settings on all of our devices and they all seem to match, and her dashboard displays correctly with what we both prefer to see shown.What I see now after a run with 0 miles and 0s/mi pace:

On may 18th, I was editing one of my shoes from the iOS Strava app. After a run, I went to « my shoes » section, saw the proper list as usual :mizuno wave Daichi 7 salomon ultra glide 3 mizuno wave ultima 16 « pour tapis » Mizuno wave rider 28 bleu vertthose last ones are my usual pair of shoes for the running. So I clicked on it to « modify » , check the « make default » box, and validated.once back to the list, this pair disappeared ! I checked the « retired shoes » section, it’s not there. I have an old pair of « mizuno wave rider 28 », but it’s an old one. The new one had « bleu vert » at the end to make the distinction.I went to check all the runs I’ supposed to have done with those shoes, and the shoes reference has left, there’s a sad «-« character instead.of course, it’s annoying. I have tried to ask for help from the support, but I’ve been told that « they are limited to investigate these sorts of issu

I am looking at the heat maps in my area. When I seleect global there is data but when I only select weekly heat map there is no data for any sport. Is this only available in a limited area?

Sharing my Strava activities is one of the key reasons I use the app at all. The new Strava share activity options that I have on my Android app are awful. Almost everyone I run with on Fb end up screenshotting the opening activity view and using that when sharing so I am far from being alone.
