Strava Features Chat

Anyone else having issues with the strava app on the iPhone? I did a run this morning. Struggled to load it via the Garmin watch. I can’t see any fresh feed updates since yesterday. I know friends have done an activity. But I can’t see them. This is the same for when I log on online too. Rather frustrating. I’ve logged out. Logged in. Deleted the app. Re installed the app. And also turned the phone off and on. Still the same. 

Under activities there is no option for ski. Also map types there is no winter map. Any advice?

Is there any way to set an annual cycling distance target which does not include the virtual kilometres (in my case from Zwift)?  I like to track my outside distance, not the amount of spinning I do in my cellar, but can’t seem to separate the two.  Surely a basic requirement?

I am trying to create a training plan for my next (first!) marathon, that takes place in Copenhagen May 11th.But it seems like I can only create a plan for 12 weeks….!! Does anyone know if that is the only option for a marathon plan? It would be really nice if Strava could provide a plan for a longer period, e.g. 16 or 20 weeks. It seems really odd that everyone should be able to train to a marathon in 12 weeks, regardless your age, fitness level, weight etc.

This is a workout I’ve just done. 1 hour of weights, 10 minute run, 10 minute row, 50 minutes exercise bike. The x-axis is meaningless. It should be time based, not distance based. 

I am very lucky and grateful to live in a state with so many mountain bike trails available. I recently started volunteering for a bike oriented group in my state and went to an event they put on here in Michigan. My husband and I helped close the event at the end of the day and just that part involved lots of work. I don't know that many people actually realize how much work goes on before, during and after for sports related events whether they be free or pay for. So many people volunteer their time and energy into creating these events. Also a great deal of time goes into trail maintenance for things like daily use all the way to pay for events. In general this work is completed by volunteers. It seems like it would be worth trying to give these people the opportunity to get recognized for their time volunteering. It's not for bragging, in my opinion, it would be for well deserved recognition and appreciation by those who get to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Hi, I recently learnt from my wife that Strava shows the following pop-up which allows her to quickly edit her latest activity, which is a feature I've been longing for for ages, as I've multiple bikes that I need to update my every single activity to ensure I chose the right one.However, this pop-up is not showing for me. We're both using iOS, though she's using iOS17 while I'm using iOS18. I don't think that matters though. I can't seem to find any setting in Strava for this though, nor find any feature announcement from Strava on this. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks in advance! 

In the January 400 minute challenge for 2025 the leader board is shown, as of 5th January, with the leader on 1197h.That is ridiculous and makes the challenge result information not worth having.The stats need to be correct.Just show hours accumulated in January, that’s all.N OVERALL NAME TIME PROGRESS 1 Manuel Lecke 1197h 16m 17,959% 2  

HelloFor the personnal heat map, we have the option to click and show home-work routes. But it’s not possible for the global mondial heat map. Exemple for Belgium, there is a large area whitout any electric bike… but in my case i use it only for “home-work routes”, not for leisure i mean. And so my moves are not visible on the global map as you can see the picture below.Is it possible to have also in the settings of the global world map the possibility to add these home-work routes and have really all the moves of Strava?Thank you 

After I save a route on my web account,   I am unable to find any the saved routes on the iPhone app. Where are my saved routes in the iPhone app?

Good morning, For the past week my iPhone Strava widget has not been updating with correct mileage. I assume this is a known issue based on what I’ve read on Reddit, but didn’t see a topic from 2024 on this topic. I’ve tried removing and re-adding the widget to no avail. 

I’m using the app to track my walks this year, I don’t run. I went to my statistics and they are empty, it seems you only offer statistics for running and cycling? Is there a place where walkers can simply see how far they’ve walked so far this year?

Hi. I often find my activity time is cut short when viewed via the monthly summary. Sometimes by an hour. Any ideas? 🤷

I checked my Strava and saw this a few days ago and I am unable to fix this. There is no activity on my feed that shows this, just my profile. Any ideas to fix it?

Since a few days my new activities aren’t added to my personal heatmap anymore in both Android and web. I tried to forceclose via settings in android, then unselect/reselect heatmap but it doesn’t allow with the errormessage “personal heatmap failed to load”. In web it does allow unselect/select, but nothing really happens, the old heatmap is not updated. added strava to whitelist for site cookies. emptied cache in android after forceclose. added to whitelist adblocker. tried editing the new activities, i use windows/chrome for web. nothing works. thank you for looking into this, this option is quite important to me. As I understand, the week resets on Monday.  However, my weekly goal reset earlier today (Sunday).  Am I missing something? 

My elevation goal is not updating with running elevation progress even though Strava shows the activity and the elevation which I have completed.

Now I’ve got a button that links back to my profile in the top right - a second button that I didn’t need.

Is there any way of setting up a challenge - where total miles in the challenge - but cycle miles are only counted as 33% of the total ridden..IE - 30 mile bike ride = 10 miles towards the challengewhere as a 10 mile run = 10 miles.. The owner of the challenge could weight all activities however they wanted. For exampleSwimming - 10xRunning - 1xCycling - 0.33xHiking - 1.5x Then the winner would be the one with most “miles” (points) at the end of the challenge

How on earth does this work? I have a Galaxy Fit 3 and Samsung Galaxy A55. I understand that you toggle on Strava as a synced service through Samsung Health. The watch and phone are synced fine. I’ve given Strava and Samsung Health all permissions, including physical activity and sensors. What shows in the Strava app when they are successfully synced? In the settings bit, I can click two different things. One - ‘Connect an app or device’ with a little watch icon. And two -Manage apps and devices’. The first opens a screen of different watches available, and I select Samsung. It then says ‘visit our support page to connect’ and has a orange ‘get started’ button at the bottom. When clicked, it’s a support post about connecting it - all of which I have done. When I press back, it briefly flashes up with ‘error connecting your device’. The wheel spins in the top right corner of the Strava app too. What do I need to do from within the Strava app to sync and connect? 

I just got back from a ride and feel very frustrated. I started the app when I started my ride and, for some unknown reason, the app only recorded about a third of my ride! ☹️ I did not knowingly pause the ride at any time. The ride shows that I started and ended in the same place, which makes sense, because that’s what I did, but if I had accidentally paused the app at some point, then I would’ve had to accidentally restart it too!I really don’t wanna pay the subscription fee if this keeps happening. This isn’t the first time that I wasn’t able to satisfactorily record my ride! I do take a lot of pictures when I’m riding, so perhaps I stopped it from recording accidentally, but I’m not opening the Strava app when I’m using my camera.
