Hi all,I like sharing my running route and taking photos. Some photos I don't want to share the location data. Is it possible to share photo without sharing location? Do I just screenshot the photo then re-upload to remove the location data?

I have Strava on my Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra.  Until recently, it was working fine.  However, it has recently been unable to record activities.  I get the menu shown below.  Before, if I tapped on an activity, it would find GPS and give me a button that would allow me to start the activity.  Now, tapping on the activity works only if I select an activity that does not require GPS.  If I select one that requires GPS, just a sliver of the old finding GPS screen appears and then immediately disappears.I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Strava on both my phone and my watch, disabling and reenabling location services, and shutting down and restarting both the phone and the watch.  Nothing is fixing the problem.I tried contacting Strava about this.  First, they sent me back an automated e-mail talking about problems with rides not being recorded properly on the phone--but of course, this doesn't deal with a phone and doesn't deal with rides n

Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and have downloaded the Strava app.  However, although I have an account I am unable to sign into it.  I enter the correct e-mail address and password and then the app comes up with network error.  I have tried clicking on forgot password and it comes up with no internet connection, when my internet connection is working fine. I am at a loss as to what to do?  I have tried deleting the app the re-installing it and the same thing keeps happening.  The app seems to work fine on my iPhone, but not my Samsung.   Can anyone help?  Thanks  

Hi.I am looking for a simple watch  that can directly send heart rate to Strava, so I can just use Phone/Strava as my run tracker and handle all the GPS/splits. Fitbit does not do this, it records your run first, then later sends it to Strava, but not always, often the watch crashes or GPS fails, then it goes missing. I looked through the list of compatible devices on Strava, and for some devices it specifically says they do not connect directly, but others it is not so explicit that it does.So can anyone confirm what manufacturers can do this with Strava?Ps. I am doing this as I have a Fitbit charge 4, but I want to replace it, as it keeps crashing during runs. My girlfriends did exactly the same, super annoying, lots of people on fitibit forum have the same problem, and not just with this Model. Screen is unreadable in sun anyway. Pretty disappointed in this device and support.

I am a researcher who would like to do research, analysing naturalistic data in Strava communities only through online observations and participation in the community as a community Strava member.We will disclose to the community members the presence and the academic background of the researchers involving in these communities, also the aim of the research and the methods that are used for data collection. We will pseudonymise the names (assign unique identification numbers that will be used throughout the data analysis process and reporting) of all online communities, all participants and any quotations/quantitative data that might raise harm to them.Please let me know how to get permission for such data collection and analysis with managers/Strava staff.Many thanks

I've just received an e-mail from Strava in which it congratulated me with my Stravaversary - 11 years since I opened the account.That's a nice touch! However all my Strava totals that were listed in the e-mail are off by more about 10x.For example, it said I did 377 activities and about 1800 miles while in reality I did about 3400 activities and more than 20,000 miles. Edit: I decided to reread the email and realized that the totals were for the last year. Still, I think it is confusing and that's why I misread the e-mail. At the top it speaks about how long I had the account, so one would assume that the totals were also for the duration of the account.Furthermore, when people think about their totals they tend to track it for each calendar year rather than an arbitrary 1 year period that match the Stravaversary. That's why I misread the message.

Strava seems to have updated their app now I can't select All Sports on the page above with the graph that shows total time, elevation and distance. Now I have to tap the new Show more stats button. Even then when I can select All Sports not all the stats are shown at once. What I could see on one easy to access page before is just not available at all. Please put it back how it was Strava.  You have broken the function of the page I used the most. I can't understand how anyone could say these latest changes are an improvement. 

I created a post and included an animated gif that works in the form for creating the post but when I view the finished post in the Strava feed the animation does not work, it simply sits on the first frame. Is this a bug that should be reported?

I have a Samsung S22 phone and now I bought a Galaxy Watch 6. I was using a Garmin watch to synch my running to Strava and no issues. So I followed the steps to connect Samsung Health to Strava: logged in Samsung Health and went to settings and added Strava as a service to connect to. Then the Strava log in popped and I logged in and authorized the connection within Strava. The problem is Samsung Health does not show on the Services list, so it seems Strava does not recognize Health as being connected, whereas Health “sees” Strava. Meanwhile, I tried going for a quick walk with the Samsung watch and it synched to Strava, though the map information is not available. Still, Samsung Health does not show up on Strava’s Services. Am I missing something or doing something wrong? thanks!

So I lately I have been hearing lot about Glance and it's features and how cool is this Glance thing is but to be honest I think this is overhyped and overrated thing do any of you guys use this give me your honest review for and let me if it's worth to have Glance on your phone

I've linked Strava in Huawei health app, but I can not add my device in Strava app, "There was an error connecting your device".I can not understand what is the problem...and how to fix it

Can we PLEASE somehow separate the “Save” and “Discard” button on Apple Watch? Too many times, I’ve accidentally discarded an activity when trying to save. Having the buttons the same size and right on top of each other is not helpful. 99% of the time, we just want to save. Discard should not even be an option! We can delete unwanted activities manually in the app, if needed. 

Saw the recent note about streamlining segments by only keeping the most popular ones, detecting and removing fake attempts, etc. That's great. That said, I would say that one reason why some people make duplicates is an attempt to make a better spatial representation of the route so that anyone taking shortcuts will not have their attempt registered. In making this update to segments, I highly recommend strava update the GPS match precision required for a segment to register.As an example, take the Black Widow trail in San Diego, CA, black mountain area. The trail starts with a few switchbacks but there is also a steep hiking trail straight up the middle. Some bombers with their DH bikes send it straight down this trail, but their rides are registered into the segment with all the switchbacks. As a result all of the top attempts for the Black Widow trail are from DHers skipping all the switchbacks because the GPS registration is too forgiving. I am hoping a change could remedy this.

Often when planning a weekend long run, I'd start by planning a route, then star a few segments along the route. But now it does not longer seems to be a way to see what segments exist along the route. On the route planning map, I can turn the segments layer on, but that would show all segments in the vicinity, and with the route displayed, it is almost impossible to see segments that are overlayed with the route. There is no list of segments either. I am sorry to tell you, but this "optimization" of the UX has made it much harder to use.Also, there is a problem with the implementation - it is impossible to select a segment to see its details if its start aligns with a POI or a waypoint. Also, it seems that a lot of segments are simply missing.

Is there actually anyway of doing this? Exporting the GPX file from FATMAP to upload to strave doesnt work as it only exports a route GPX and not an activity GPX.My strava activities show up in FATMAP, but i want it to behave the other way around (otherwise none of my fatmap activities go in to my apple health data)Thanks

Suddenly I'm getting lots of pictures in my feed from people I do not follow. Seems to be coming from clubs I am a member of. Almost exclusively pictures of bikes. Some days so many that it feels like real spam. Is there a way to filter these out or is quitting the clubs my only options?

Sorry, Strava team, what have you done on creating routes? What worked perfectly before now doesn't! Shifting proposed way between two route points to another route does not work correctly anymore. Sometimes it's possible, sometimes not. And 'Undo' also does not do what one expect. Please keep it simple as it was before! Thanks very much in advance, Rainer.

Many cyclist friends are abandoning Strava because of the segments. They would like to be able to make the times on the segments private but still leave the activity visible. Introducing a function that makes the times on the segments private would solve the problem.

I submitted a ticket over 3 weeks ago and still haven’t had a response

My Apple Watch has stopped syncing workouts. It was fine then only synced a piece of a workout (no map only distance data) and since then nothing. When I save it, it says uploaded, but it doesn’t appear in my workouts. I have tried everything and many emails from help, but they just keep getting closed and nothing gets done. It is really frustrating and I didn’t change any settings it just doesn’t work anymore. Anyone else having similar issues, or suggestions. I also uploaded some pictures recently, but they aren’t in my workout, but appeared in my mates. Surely there is a data issue here. Like I say Strava help and Twitter haven’t responded, maybe Strava community will know what to do. Thanks

I’ve done 2 runs tonight and on my second one I cannot see any best effort data at all and it’s isn’t showing on app or website. It was a 3.25km run so presumably long enough to get at least some data. I can see the best effort data for everyone else who i ran with and it is showing for my first run of the night but not the second.segment info and pace info all showing fine, just nothing on best efforts… very strange! Help.    

I've had 2 issues with activities syncing to my strava/phone when returning home. Have tried doing a small activity to see if it triggers it to sync but still nothing. Any ideas please?

I've been flagging a lot of activities lately, and finding the entire process very difficult due to only being allowed to flag 10 activities under a 24 hour period (starting from when the last flag was raised). This is the most problematic on Walking segments, with users either accidentally logging activities that should be runs/bike, forgetting to turn off when they get in the car, or worse just doing it deliberately, but the volume of people doing it is very high - over COVID this became very problematic as most of the data I see of people abusing leader boards stems from 2020-2021.Can we review this process as the segment leaderboards are frequently abused and the limit to the flag feature does not allow easy community validation, which Strava insists is the only way to manage these Segment Leaderboards. Some suggestions below1. Flag Limit- Increase the number of flags available- Alternatively, stagger the number of flags permissible relative to previous flagging results. e.g.

Is there any way to limit the live segments notifications to just the starred segments and not the popular ones? As I ride it's just a constant stream of live segment notices that I don't have any interest in, yet to clear the screen means taking a hand off of the handlebars which isn't always practical.
