Strava Features Chat

It’s killing me I can’t find all my activities there. Why would you only show certain activity types? I for ex do a lot of rock climbing / mountaineering and the routes are so important and helpful but I can filter those. It does show up if I go to one of my previous activities so the functionality is certainly there. A view all filter would help tremendously too. I just want to know where people are going through the most and the trail that makes more sense I don’t care if they saved it as a hike, trail run or whatever. 

I know the mileage on a bike trail I ride weekly.  After I stop the ride and look at the miles and time it is OK.  When I save the activity the mileage is wrong, the time is correct.  What can I do to solve this? thanks

Every time I go and save the map of a ride its different.. It use to be great, a simple map with the required details, then half the map was getting cut off, now a stupid gradient and text over the top of it.. Why cant you just leave a perfectly working feature alone, and not screw it up?

In the image the Surface Type information next to estimated moving time shows 100% not specified while  in the elevation profile map it's about 50% dirt, 50% not specified. Browser is Safari 17.6. 

My weekly summary for cycling shows hours instead of miles and I cannot see how to change this. My indoor rides calculate miles so that shouldn’t be an issue. and I want that metric instead of hours- any help appreciated as I’ve searched and asked the chatbot!

We have a challenge at work where people compete in teams of 5. We have 100 people who has signed up, so we need to create 20 different teams.  But when I came to create the 11th club, I got the error on my phone and online on PC:“Something went wrong. Looks like this isn’t working. Please try again later” I can’t find any documentation that there will be a limit/max of how many clubs I can create. Any that have similar experience or am I just experiencing a bug?  

I have recently rejoined Strava community and trying out first month with a subscription.  Does anyone else out here feels the watch app could do a lot more than what it does how. For example, saved routes / to start routes can only be done with the mobile device. I dislike carrying my phone for any run and would love to have this feature on watch app alone, but it doesn’t.  In this case, I recorded the run in both devices and Strava couldn’t even figure out it was same workout and saved both thus causing data error when I deleted one of it.  Is Strava looking to make this feature more robust? Would love to hear anyone else’s experience.  Thanks! 

HELP! I changed some setting(s) in Strava, and now instead of my actual Distance and Pace showing, I see  0.00 and 0S/mi. I use the Strava app on my iWatch and my iPhone. When I start Strava on my watch to record my run, it stays at all zeros for average pace and miles during the run and when I finish. It appears that these are being recorded, simply not displaying on my iWatch, iPhone app, or Strava's website. I've attached screenshots showing what I am seeing on my dashboard now and earlier before I changed the settings (security? privacy?). I'd like to see my pace and distance while I am running, as well as on my dashboard after my run. I compared my settings with my wife's settings on all of our devices and they all seem to match, and her dashboard displays correctly with what we both prefer to see shown.What I see now after a run with 0 miles and 0s/mi pace:

On may 18th, I was editing one of my shoes from the iOS Strava app. After a run, I went to « my shoes » section, saw the proper list as usual :mizuno wave Daichi 7 salomon ultra glide 3 mizuno wave ultima 16 « pour tapis » Mizuno wave rider 28 bleu vertthose last ones are my usual pair of shoes for the running. So I clicked on it to « modify » , check the « make default » box, and validated.once back to the list, this pair disappeared ! I checked the « retired shoes » section, it’s not there. I have an old pair of « mizuno wave rider 28 », but it’s an old one. The new one had « bleu vert » at the end to make the distinction.I went to check all the runs I’ supposed to have done with those shoes, and the shoes reference has left, there’s a sad «-« character instead.of course, it’s annoying. I have tried to ask for help from the support, but I’ve been told that « they are limited to investigate these sorts of issu

I am looking at the heat maps in my area. When I seleect global there is data but when I only select weekly heat map there is no data for any sport. Is this only available in a limited area?

Sharing my Strava activities is one of the key reasons I use the app at all. The new Strava share activity options that I have on my Android app are awful. Almost everyone I run with on Fb end up screenshotting the opening activity view and using that when sharing so I am far from being alone.

Over the last couple weeks about half of my weight training sessions show up in my "activities" but not on my "training log," which I like to use to see trends over time. All my runs show up. To my knowledge there's nothing different in settings for the activities that aren't represented in the training log. I've only gotten back to weights in the last couple of weeks so I don't know if it's an issue with my data or app updates. Example from yesterday (May 20) in attached photos.  

Generally, "endurance" is translated as "持久力" (jikyuuryoku), which refers to physical stamina. "忍耐" (nintai), on the other hand, means "to bear or put up with" and often evokes a sense of mentally tough training.

Strava has set an annual cycling goal for me of 7,000km.  I would like to change this number.  I can get to the screens where you set goals, and I can set goals for other activities, but I can’t edit/change this cycling goal.  The text on the screen says it can be updated, but I can’t update it.  I’m using the free version of Strava.  Can these Strava set goals be changed?  When using the free version?  Thank you.

It would be great to see an improvement where you can choose to exclude e-bike riders from segment KOM and Local Legend stats.  I would assume AI would be able to automatically determine if someone is riding an e-bike based on acceleration, avg speed, etc.

I’m an endurance cyclist, and I’ve noticed that Strava only counts the day I start a ride as an “active day,” even when the ride spans multiple calendar days. For endurance events that extend beyond a single day, Strava still considers it as just one active day.This seems like a bug or a design limitation, as it doesn't accurately reflect the effort and time spent riding over multiple days. Ideally, each calendar day that includes recorded activity should be counted as an active day to better represent multi-day endurance efforts.

My PRs are not showing in my activities. My Garmin displays PRs but Strava isn’t recognizing them. I has done it before, and I’ve not changed any settings but it’s not doing it now. When I look at my best efforts, it’s not my recent best effort. It’s frustrating as this is how I can easily see my PRs. Any ideas on how to fix??

Hi,I've noticed that in the past few days, geotagged user photos are no longer visible on activity maps or route planning heatmaps on the web version of Strava (they were clickable blue dots).Instead, I now see commercial POIs (e.g., pubs, even McDonald's, Burger King,) that never appeared before?I use Strava primarily to explore routes based on local photos, (in particular trail conditions of remote places), and this was a key reason I paid for membership.Can you please confirm if this is a permanent change or a bug. If possible, I’d like the previous behavior with photo overlays restored?Thank you.

Walks have been added to running challenges as of January 2024 and as a person who does both run and walk acitvities as separate sports, this has ruined the experience of challenges in the app for me, and in general.My walks are no counting towards running challenges which rightly used to be separate. They are separate sports.I found an idea here from last year where somebody requested the opposite and now it has been implemented. From their point of view, they were lesser abled and some walks "felt" like runs to them, which i acknowledge - however, the solution there is ti simply record a running workout on your device, not a walk.To improve the experience for walkers then more 5k, 10k and monthly mileage challenges can be set up to keep it interesting. Last year I really enjoyed tracking my walking challenge and sepaately doing the running challenges. Now there are fewer challenges in total which seems like the app is getting worse, not better.

Hi there, Are passcodes now mandatory? I seem to have been switched and am now required to log in via a one time passcode each time I log in on my mac which is something I really don’t want to have to do. I’m very happy using a password, all a passcode does for me is fills up my inbox, if everyone started doing this it would have an absolute cluster. J

Did Strava removed the yearly progress (distance, time,...) from the app?I have free membership and recently can’t find this info in my app :-(

Hello, I have created a challenge but i was not able to generate a sharable link; i can only invite people who are following me. I am a monthly subscriber but some of the people i invite send me a screenshot that to join the challenge they need to subscribe as well. please helpthanks
