Strava Features Chat

Apologies if I am asking a question asked many times, When using strava on my android phone you can view how far you have gone simply by pressing the lock screen key, however I can’t get this to work on my Iphone SE, is it possible to get a snapshot of the activity on the lock screen on the Iphone SE - see the attachment of the android phone?  

There is a great feature where you could compare those metrics (Speed, HR, power) of all selected athletes for each second by sliding through the timeline.Approx. 2 weeks ago I noticed that this is brokwen so that the figures only update for reference athlete (the on on top of the selected list) while for all others it is stuck at one figure (average on the segment, I think)Please fix this. This is really annoying and takes away a huge value in comparisson analyses.

Hi, I (and many others) used to love Strava mainly because we could easily use your excellent heatmaps in high resolution (i.e in the highest levels beyond 15) in external tools that we use to plan hiking or backpacking trips, i.e. CalTopo, Gaia, etc.But a few months ago, you changed that. You broke everything, and everyone with a bit of technical understanding and the ability to read through GitHub and OSM forums knows what changed. It's clear and obvious that you want to keep users on your own platform and make them pay. But things like this just scream "infinite corporate greed". It's such a shame that you did this. Strava is shooting itself in the foot. People will not change their route planning tools they've used for years and suddenly switch over to the Strava route planner - which is inferior in so many ways.Here's an idea for your product management: why don't you charge separately for external access to your highest-resolution global heatmaps? Something like $25 a year, ONLY

The app is the best. But something from the adidas running app (former runtastic) is still unmatched in my opinion. It is the easy view of all activities of a given period. As showed on the captures joined. We can easily see all the activities and the total mileage of a period. Month. Week. Year. I would love to have that as it is quite complicated to find a past activity or a past résumé of a period on strava.   What do you think about this ?  Thanks 

Few days ago,I still use the normal strava map when cycling but when the application updates itself, the map in the record and map turns white and I can't see anything. When the journey ends, the map appears. I don't use duckduckgo but the map stillshows white. I'm using a j7 prime device. 

In the last week the emojis icon in the keyboard has disappeared…I've checked Strava version  is upto date and phone etc...tried restarting phone but still no emojis...using an android phone…Has it got anything to do with Grammerly!...as when I have the keyboard display up and I tap the three dots on the top of the keyboard I can review suggestions and when I do it comes up with Grammerly policy etc... have you partnered up with then and removed emojis! Strava used to be great until you started dicking about with stuff like this...it does improve the service...it makes it worse!

After running a long distance of 40 km, I tried importing the data into Strava, but the app keeps crashing. Importing works fine for 10 km runs or swimming data, but only the 40 km activity can’t be imported—the app crashes every time. I even tried deleting and reinstalling the app, but the same issue occurs. What could be the problem?

I have added a pair of running shows to my profile which already had 160km. But Strava starts counting at 0 and does not allow me to specify or edit the distance.The same feature on Runna works just fine. 

I am suscribed to Strava premium and I have some issues that I can’t find answers to. I am missing some features:1) Strava doesnt feature the map/route of what i readmy best efforts are not updated at all I have no idea where. Anyone have any suggestions? I cant find anything in a FAQ and cant find a strava live support

I found it strange that Strava Activities are always a bit shorter than what my watch says.And I know for a fact that my watch is correct, because when doing races, it is always spot on with the official times.Let’s focus on my last activity. If I open it on strava and ask to create a route from my activity, this is what I get: At the bottom, it says 7.1Km, which is EXACTLY what my watch recorded for that route.But if I look at the Activity map, it’s like I a taking shortcuts that are not possible, as it goes straight where the road curves: The resut is 90m difference on a 7100m route: This is sufficient to lower my pace by a few seconds, on this case, 5.04 to 5.07 and sometimes makes me miss, for example, the 10K badge, when running on a certified 10K route (it’s marked on the road...). I have seen mention to a “correct distance” option on the website, if I click the three dots on the left menu, after opening the activity, but I have no such option, I am guessing it was removed?

Hi there,I want to show my ride map style with the various elements showing on and off road sections, and the stats to show how much was on/off road. Is that possi8ble with Strava?

This has just happened to me too many times. It’s a huge disappointment.It goes like this: I stand next to my car and start Strava, it seems fine. I put my phone back into my Camelback or jacket or whatever I’ll be transporting the phone with. As far as I’m concerned, Strava starting recording my activity. It was showing the timer and speed.I pull my pack/garment out of the car and put it on and begin my activity. Today it was a mountain bike ride. I am TRAINING. I want this data! I finish my workout and there is Strava with a little warning dialog saying “Weak GPS signal. Do you still want to record your activity?”DOH! I just finished!!! And I’ve got NOTHING.Pardon me, but this has happened several times in the past 2 weeks. I just renewed my subscription too, because I’m training for a race. Not helpful! And no way for me to know as I left the car that Strava had given up because my phone was in the car for less than a minute.I want a setting in the app that overrides this stupidity.

Hey Strava team,Just a quick suggestion — it’d be super helpful if we could change the Name and Privacy settings of a saved route in the mobile app without having to go into edit mode and move something on the map.Right now, if I just want to change its name or make a route private or public, I still have to pretend to edit it, which feels a bit clunky. Would be a matter of adding a new “Edit name and privacy” option that takes you directly to step where they can be modified. Example:New option to directly edit name and privacy: That takes users right straight to the view where these settings can be adjusted: 

Hi everyone! I noticed that someone has marked me as a favorite on Strava. Is there a way to remove myself from their favorites list or undo this somehow? I’d prefer not to be on that list, but I can’t find an option to manage it?  Thanks in advance 😊 

I am not a fan of the most recent (July 2025) app update ("upgrade") to the maps feature. My map is no longer defaulted to "North up", and I cannot figure out how to get the map to always display in "North up" my default. Anyone know if/where that setting is?

Hi everyone,I’m currently experiencing an issue where segment results are being recorded and visible in my activities, but I’m not receiving any awards such as personal records (PRs), second or third place trophies—even when I’ve clearly achieved a better time than before.Here’s what I’ve checked so far: Segment efforts are listed under the activity, so Strava is recognizing them. My activity is public and synced directly from my device (not a manual upload). The GPS data looks accurate and follows the segment correctly. I’ve also tried refreshing achievements, but that didn’t solve the issue. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Any idea why PRs and other awards might not be showing up even though the segments are detected?Thanks in advance for your help!    

Hi everyone! I launched two tickets with Strava support because I had an issue with my subscriptions.In june I used a 30-day trial which was extended and I payed the yearly cost for this. In July (after the trial period had ended and I already payed the yearly cost) I was not able to use the subscription so I had to buy another subscription to actually get access to my subscription.Now I have to active subscriptions on one and the same account and I can obviously only use one of them. I believe there was an issue with the app because the subscription with the trial period was not working and I had to cancel it and buy a new one to actually get access to the premium features. I already reached out to Strava Support about this twice and provided them with all the documents (payment tickets, photos of active and inactive subscriptions, …) but still have not received any kind of answer from anyone.Is this normal?

Hi everyone,I’m currently living in South Korea and I’ve been a happy Strava user for a while. I liked it so much that I decided to subscribe to Runna as well.Later, I found out there was a Strava + Runna bundle deal for $149.99, so I went ahead and tried to sign up for that. However, my first card didn’t have enough balance, so I updated the payment information with a second card and successfully completed the purchase for the Strava + Runna bundle.To sign up for Runna, I also started the free trial using the second card. I assumed that once I subscribed to the bundle and linked my accounts, everything would sync automatically and only the bundle charge would apply.But here’s what actually happened: Runna charged me separately for a full-year membership after the trial ended. I was also charged on the first card, even though I thought the payment had failed. So in total, I’ve been charged three times: once for the bundle, once by Runna directly, and once unexpectedly on the first

Good afternoon, I cancelled my auto subscription for the student plan a few months ago. The regulations say that we have to request a refund within 7 days (I have put 2 tickets in the last week with no replies as it went through on the 19th and is now the 25th) , I need a refund for the amount on my card account, could you please refund it? I'm not sure why it went through as I had already cancelled, but not just that it charged me through at full price rather than student discount which is even weirder. Thank you  Add tags

Has anyone ever had an uploaded ride invisible to “Everyone” when your privacy settings allow for everyone to have access to what you upload? I uploaded a ride yesterday that was visible only to me, but just the day before I’d uploaded a different ride that is visible to everyone. 

After riding today, I looked at my activity feed on my laptop. Seemed OK, I gave some kudos, made a few comments. Then I realized, when I reloaded: any activity I had given kudos or commented seems to have vanished from my feed (including my own activities!) I tried switching back and forth several times between “Latest Activities” and “Personalized,” which seems to make no difference. Nor does logging out, clearing caches, and reloading. Please; can Activity Feed just show recent activities by me and those I follow (with as few silly ads as possible, but I know you need to place them), and not try to get clever. Don’t removed items from feed after I’ve looked at them. Don’t reorder or skip according to what YOU think I want to see. Just show the feed! Thank you.

Hi from Sweden 😀🇸🇪☀️ I often run structured workouts with intervals (e.g. 6×1000m) created in Garmin, and sync them to Strava. However, the displayed average pace always includes warm-up, rest, and cool-down, which makes it misleading if I want to analyze or share the workout’s true effort. Feature request: Please add an option to calculate and show average pace for selected laps – or even better, average pace for structured intervals, separated from total workout average. This would really improve Strava’s usefulness for interval training! Thanks! claes

Hey all,I have been trying to get this figured out and I am stumped.  My emergency contact accidentally responded "off" to the automated Strava Beacon text and now they are no longer receiving my strava beacons when I head out for a run.  Anyone else dealt with this?  Do you have any ideas on how to reenable the strava beacon texts? I use a garmin and have had no previous issues.Thanks!
