URL Schemes stopped working correctly

I've made a shortcut with the Apple shortcut app to immediately start a new recording with the action button (Using the URL scheme "strava://record/new/start")Since about a week or two when I use this shortcut Strava crashes most of the time.Sometimes it does work (can't really tell why) but most of the time it doesn't.Please fix this.

5km on the hour every hour

hi, i am doing a challenge in a few weeks of running 5km on the hour, every hour for 12 hours. How would i track this on an apple watch/ strava so that at the end of the challenge, the total 60km and the pace of the runs would show as one 60km run

Ties for Segment KOMs - Did something change recently?

Did something recently change with how KOMs are recorded with regards to ties?  I have a segment I tied for the KOM back in June of 2023.  I checked my KOM list just a couple weeks ago (July 9, 2025) and it was listed on my profile page in my KOM list.  I just checked today and it is not listed there.  I checked the activity and it shows that all is good including another KOM I got that day.  It still lists that segment as me getting the KOM (even with it being tied with the existing KOM).  I checked the segment details and it shows both of us with the same time.  I know that originally, Strava only counted the first person to get a time as the KOM, but that changed a couple years ago.  Did something change back in just the last couple of weeks or is this just a glitch?  I have included links to the segment and my activity below for reference.  I did refresh the activity achievements as well to see if that would fix anything but no change.TOA Antenna Hill | Strava Ride Segment in Ancho

Strava API App Issues: "Simon's Journey Viz" Redirection & App Management Problems

Hi Strava Developer Community,I'm running into a strange issue with my local Strava API app, "Miles to Merch."When I try to log in, I consistently get redirected to the authorization page for "Simon's Journey Viz," even though I'm using my own app's Client ID and Secret. My backend's debug output confirms this. My callback domain is correctly set to localhost, and I've cleared my browser cache.The most confusing part is I can't delete my current "Miles to Merch" app and can't create new apps through my Strava API settings. Those options simply aren't there.Has anyone experienced something similar? It feels like there's an issue with my account or app ownership on Strava's end, causing these conflicts.Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Average pace for whole run

I used to be able to see my average pace for the whole run during the run. Now it only shows me average pace for the current split, which is pretty useless for a longer run when I want to make sure I’m on target for my goal. I used to be able to check every km or so and make sure I was on track for my target pace, now there is no such way to stay on schedule. It used to be that it would switch to average split pace during a subscription, but now it’s there all the time. Please can we have a toggle to switch between? Or a solution!

Created a new segment, still only a partial match

https://www.strava.com/activities/15245714340/segments/39728736/potential-segment-matches I ran a route I run often, just an out and back up a hill. I created a new 1km segment for the bottom of the hill from my activity. It’s fairly straight and simple. My activity is only a partial match of the segment, with no other info given.The segment starts a little ways up the trail from the road where I start, and each lap I ran well past the end of the segment.How can an activity not match the segment when the segment was created FROM that activity gps data? Thanks for any insight! I searched but haven’t come across this issue yet. There were many other matches and a full leader board but not the activity it was made from.

Falsches Datum einer Aktivität korrigieren

Ich habe gestern über Garmin eine Aktivität aufgezeichnet. Diese wurde von Garmin unter einem falschen Datum (eine Woche vorher) gespeichert und entsprechend falsch mit Strava synchronisiert. Bei Garmin kann ich das Datum nachträglich ändern - aber weder wird die Änderung mit Strava synchronisiert, noch lässt sie sich in der App oder Strava.com manuell ändern. Wie könnte man das korrigieren?Translation: I recorded an activity yesterday with Garmin. Garmin saved it under the wrong date (a week ago) and synced it incorrectly with Strava. I can change the date with Garmin afterward, but the change isn't synced with Strava, nor can I manually change it in the app or Strava.com. How can I fix this?

Where have record run settings gone?

After pressing record but before pressing start, there was a gear icon to change settings like audio cues and auto pause - after the latest update it has completely disappeared for me? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the iOS app to no avail.

How do I update location on my profile?

Hi there, I downloaded Strava in Switzerland but whenever I attempt to change the location, it would only let me change the city and the state, but never the country, so it always gives me something like “NY, United States, Switzerland”. Any possible way to fix this? Thank you so much! Have a great day!!

Strava ignoring refund request

I filed a refund ticket after I was charged for an annual plan following the end of my free subscription. According to the guidelines, I was instructed to cancel the subscription (which I did) and provide proof of the charge, stating that I’m eligible for a refund within 14 days of purchase.It has now been a week since I submitted the ticket, but I’ve received no response from Strava’s customer service. They have also not replied to my follow-up emails.Do you know how I can persuade them to issue my refund?

[Resolved] iOS app workout preferences gear gone

I have had a huge problem in the last couple of days. I presume there was a Strava app update for iOS. It wiped out the top menu area that used to exist where, after I hit the “Record” button, but before I hit “Start”, I could set preferences, including screen dimming etc., before starting a workout. There used to be at the upper right corner a “gear” preferences icon. Instead, there is empty space at the top. All the controls that used to be on top are gone. So the last settings I have are frozen and I can’t change them. And I can’t even exit the screen after I hit “Record”, if I change my mind: I have to quit the app.

Having multiple weird issues with route creation lately

Seeing some very weird anomalies lately with mapping: In the first image, this was a short, 6 mile run that was saved.  Upon returning to my saved routes, not only did it save a Trans-Atlantic run - the distance was way short.     In the second image, there is a missing “link” between the street and the path (not the issue).  To navigate this, I switched to manual mode and clicked on the path.  A wormhole opened and added 12409.62 miles to my run - a bit further than I’d hoped on this route.  In reality, this was probably no more than 10 yards.  This has happened on numerous occasions both in manual and automatic mapping mode where waypoints that should be about a mile add hundred or thousands of miles.   I have run into several occasions lately where maps will “spin” on updating and become unresponsive.  It’s happened about 3-4 times in the past couple weeks.  Not a huge deal on short runs but kind of annoying when I was 17 miles into mapping my long run and had to redo the whole thin

Competition on Leaderboards

Hello, New to the Community and Subscribed services here. I have enjoyed using Strava for several years now. I have a concern as it has come to my attention that someone in my area is competing for women’s leaderboard results and has recently identified as a female.  He/she was on a collegiate MTB male racing team before coming to this area.  The women here are at a disadvantage and this situation has lessened the enjoyment of segmental competition among the women (gender at birth) who ride and compete on the same segments.  Thoughts?

Opção especifica para corrida na areia da praia

Gosto muito do aplicativo, uso com frequência e ele realmente motiva a manter uma rotina ativa.Porém, como tudo pode evoluir, acho que já passou da hora de incluir uma opção específica para “corrida na areia da praia”.É um tipo de terreno muito comum para muitos corredores, principalmente no Brasil, e faz diferença tanto no desempenho quanto na análise do treino.Fica a sugestão com carinho de quem realmente curte o app e quer ver ele cada vez melhor!

The Strava app no longer provides mileage alerts on trip returns.

 Hello everyone!I have a question for the Strava community:Are you having the same problem?When I do an outward/return run, the Strava app doesn't provide alerts (km, 1/2 km, and performance...). Is there a reason for this?Thanks everyone.

wrong pace when sharing stats

Hi! I’ve got a problem since 22nd of July, my running pace when I view the activity is correct but when I want to share the stats (transparent background option for example) then the pace is not realistic, very weird. Distance and time is correct but pace is incorrect. I’ll add some screenshots. Can anybody help me or know what is wrong with my strava?

generating fit-file in our app for Strava

We are a developing an app for our e-bike systems. Our app allows users to configure settings and navigate, for example. We are in the process of releasing a new feature that will enable our users to track their rides.These rides allow us to display average values within our app, and we also offer the option to download a .fit file, which can be imported into platforms like Strava. We have several customers who also use Strava, and we naturally want to provide them with the best possible data.However, we have encountered an issue: when the .fit file generated by our app is uploaded to Strava, the speed data in the analysis appears unusual or incorrect.Our recording method is relatively straightforward: we begin recording as soon as the bike speed is greater than zero, and we save the data every second, also the GPS Data in the same way.My primary concern is to understand what we might be overlooking in the .fit file and why these discrepancies appear, particularly in the diagrams.

How to setup challenge - run a 5K and be entered to win (4 weeks, 4 winners)

I’m having the hardest time trying to figure out the best way to set up this challenge.4 Weeks. 4 Winners. All they have to do to be entered to win the prize is to run a 5K. Each week they complete a 5K they’re entered to win but none of the group challenge settings seem to be right.

Allow Gear Assignment via Activity Upload in Strava API

Hi Strava Developer Team,I’m a long-time Strava user and coach, and I use third-party tools like RunGap to sync training data from Garmin.One persistent issue is that Strava’s API does not currently allow third-party apps to assign gear (e.g. shoes or bikes) when uploading activities. As a result, this information needs to be manually updated every time, which breaks the otherwise smooth syncing workflow and diminishes the value of tracking gear-specific stats like shoe mileage.Could I request that you consider adding support for gear assignment via the Activities API — either by gear ID or name — during upload or in a subsequent PATCH call?This would benefit a lot of users who work across platforms.Thanks for considering this, and keep up the excellent work.All the best,Sean BarkesProfessional Coach

How to Correct wrong segment elevation and grade data

I’ve come across two segments in my personal heatmap that simply have VERY wrong elevation and gradient data.  One example is on segment “Conant Road Climb” in Lincoln MA, segment 4177639.This is the 0.45 mile section of Old Conant Road southbound from the end of the unpaved footpath and going down to Hawk Hill Road. Elevation at start is 274', at Old Conant Rd meets Hawk Hill Rd is 232. So the elevation change is -42 feet, a slight downhill. But the Strava user who created this segment named it Conant Road Climb!  Despite its negative elevation delta, the segment is listed as having a 232' rise, yielding the VERY incorrect 9.6% grade over its 0.45 mile length. At segment creation, it appears the elevation change was incorrectly set to the actual elevation at the segment's endpoint. The segment’s definition shows a crazy pair of values: Lowest Elev-114ft        Highest Elev118ft    Elev Delta: +232 Clearly no location in Massachusetts sits at -114ft.  Could this be a MapBox problem, or

Global Heatmaps Limited to 13 months data

Why are the global heatmaps now limited to 13 months of data? I am not sure when it changed but previously the global heatmaps data went back multiple years. Losing this functionality severely hampers route building for hiking, mountain biking, etc. An option to filter the timeframe for global heatmaps which is available for personal heat maps should be available and it should provide heatmap data that goes back as far as possible.

Auto Excluded Efforst

https://www.strava.com/activities/11239201596Hello everyone,Yesterday I made a really hard effort and I broke my record for 3 segments listed in the picture above which are excluded for me. On 2 segments, I didn't even take the KOM, so I don't see why my result is excluded for those 3 segments, while the results for the other segments are included. You can review the entire ride and see that everything is fine.My HRM wasn't working because the battery ran out on my Garmin. You can see from all my previous rides that I use it, and it's not my intention to cheat or do anything suspicious, but to enjoy riding and achieve good results.I use Strava because I love segments, leaders, personal records, KOMs, but it feels like a lottery whether efforts will be considered at all.I hope you will consider my complaint because otherwise I wouldn't have written it here.Thank you for your understanding.
